What needs to happen then? Obviously appointing a decent manager and quickly would be one of the first things to do. None of this "All the decision makers are going on holiday so nothing is going to happen for weeks" s*** which we've had before (remember when Joe Kinnear went on holiday during the transfer window when it was his job to sign players?). Sign more than one player who can take a free kick. We've gone from the days of having Shearer, Solano and Robert to Ryan Taylor. Sign some players with leadership qualities.

Anyone who says they prefer the excitement and interest of being involved in a relegation battle over finishing mid table clearly forgets the hell of being involved in a relegation battle. If the choice was mid table or relegation battle I'll take mid table every time (obviously I'd prefer it if we aimed higher than mid table).

Maybe he was visited by three ghosts last night who showed him the error of his ways. Mike's had an Ebenezer Scrooge like epiphany.

Not leaving until Nufc win something? Sounds like a threat that he'll never sell. To paraphrase Mr Burns from The Simpsons, "Remember, I'm here forever!"

The Nufc bald man wrestles the comb from the Safc bald man and triumphantly holds it aloft.

What's the scale though? Shite / Poor / Mediocre / OK / Good / Very Good / Excellent / World Class

Because you are wrong. Nobody said he's a world beater. But he would be a decent option right now. You seem to have a little agenda to negate everything he can do. 1300 minutes is around 14 full games, of which he had 6 assists. Does Gouffran, Sammy, Obertan or Jonas have 6 assists in 14 full games?
-
He is a mediocre player. I don't know why people are taking offence at me stating that. He was on loan there for a full season. It's not my fault he got injuries or wasn't selected.

By totally over exaggerating his lack of ability and claiming he couldn't get assists in the PL? Yes. I said he wasn't very good. He hasn't done particularly well in a full season of Ligue 1. I said it was harder to provide assists in the Premier League than in Ligue 1. I also said him not being very good "doesn't mean he isn't as good or better than some of our other midfielders."

I'm talking shit by saying Sylvain Marveaux isn't very good?

He scored no league goals. He scored 2 goals in a Europa League game against PAOK and 1 in the Trophée des Champions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troph%C3%A9e_des_Champions He provided 4 assists in the league, 1 in the Europa League and 1 in the Coupe de France. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sylvain-marveaux/profil/spieler/39909 From this I would conclude that he isn't very good (that doesn't mean he isn't as good or better than some of our other midfielders). 4 more assists in the league wouldn't of helped us like. Ne way. Ligue 1 isn't the Premier League. Most would consider the Premier League to be a step up in quality on Ligue 1. Just because someone can provide 4 assists in Ligue 1 doesn't mean they could in the Premiership. Emmanuel Riviere was Monaco's top goal scorer last season! Correction. He has 1 league goal. Wikipedia is wrong.

We should have had around 5 nailed on penalties in the last few months which weren't given. That's not luck though, that's biased, incompetent and/or corrupt officiating.

If he's furious it should be with himself. He could have changed manager any time but he has stuck with Carver to the bitter end. Who's faults that? His own. I don't know why he'd turn up for this game. His presence is likely to poison what is already likely to be an atmosphere mixed with high tension/apathy/rage. Maybe he wants to witness the results of the power he wields in action. "See all these angry people? I caused that".

There is plenty of evidence to suggest that Ashley is as tight as a duck's arse. I bet he gets annoyed if he loses a penny. The reason he didn't spend that 20m is because relegation seemed so utterly inconceivable in January. Remember, there's also an obscene amount of TV money he'd miss out on. He could have spent some money on a proper manager any time after the January transfer window closed. He didn't so I assume he isn't that bothered. He likes to gamble. He bought £43m worth of Tesco shares. Those shares probably won't bounce back for years if at all. Some of his bets come off and some of them don't.
-
Ashley losing money? He's supposedly worth £4 Billion. I've read he rates NUFC as worth £300 million. If NUFC halves in value to £150 million on relegation he will have lost 3.75% of his total worth. I doubt he'll give a s***. He gains or loses similar amounts each year on stock market fluctuations. If he did give a s*** he might have allowed some 0.5% (£20 million) of his worth to be spent to try to ensure relegation didn't happen.

And what a prestigious title NETD is. Talk about two bald men fighting over a comb. Both clubs are shit. If a miracle occurs and we beat West Ham we would be NETD if they lost to Chelsea. Neither team has anything to be proud of. They'll be fighting relegation next season again. I don't know any Sunderland fans who actually enjoy watching their team. Same as Nufc fans.

In the Championship?
