On the plus side it was good to see a flare in the Strawberry Corner. Never seen a flare at the match at SJP other than Feyenoord in 2002/03, only smoke bombs.

These lot will be gutted. If we lose the final they’ll be celebrating and then the realisation will kick in for them. They’ll recognise that this is just the start, and that they best get used to us competing for trophies and seeing Eddie’s “smug” face on their 22 inch portable tele’s.

If you’re coming from anywhere but North Shields way it’s an inconvenience. I was playing football at Nucastle on Friday and got the Metro in to town, walked past SJP Metro station to get on at Haymarket instead.
