It's honestly kind of impressive how they can spend so much money over so many years and still be this bad. This might be the biggest sustained run of incompetence in the Premier League era.

I don't think it's necessarily negotiation incompetence, but it's probably true that if we had a full-time transfer team with a more extensive personal network with European executives/agents, we'd have been given the opportunity to swoop in under the radar for a few targets this summer. There's a big favor trading component to it that someone who's not part of those social circles just cannot match.

We have four starting caliber CMs, two backups, and players like Hall who can deputize in a pinch. Given PSR and potential SCR on top of that, it would be a poor allocation of resources to add another 50m-pound rated CM, at least until we move on from Willock.

You know what, if JSL is worth 65 million and Wissa 50 million in today's market, I want half a billion Pound for Isak.

What's he going to do when the window closes? Sit out a whole year, derail his career, and potentially miss out on millions in wages? If he's genuinely that stupid, the owners will find a way to punt him to Saudi or something after the window closes. I know we've been reluctant to use that connection in the past, but I figure we'd make an exception to rid ourselves of a once-in-a-generation idiot.
