  1. No, the excuse for the defending is missing our best centreback.
  2. I realize this makes me a bad fan, but I'm turning it off. Colo AGAIN btw
  3. jesus calm down man. we're playing chelsea ffs, plus we're a bottom 3 club atm Understandable if it were a one off but he's consistantly s*** Wouldn't go as far as "should never play for the club again," but he should have been dropped after Arsenal. Probably would have been if Seb was fit.
  4. it's fine, anything we got from this game was a bonus anyway. I'm not going to lose my mind like I did the last couple of matchdays.
  5. not bad. Good pressure, good effort, you can obviously see the confidence. Great to see Owen trying again, and Butt a bit reinvigorated. Still getting owned because they're just so much better than we are, particularly in the final third because our strikeforce has nothing whatsoever against the quality of their backline, but we could still nick 0-0 if we don't drop a shit. And I'd just like to know what the fuck is wrong with Ryan Taylor and his set pieces.
  6. also note that we have something like 30 billion threads discussing various aspects of the Shearer appointment. Including this one.
  7. Must not get hopes up... Must not get hopes up... Shearer effect or no, Essien alone could probably tear up our starting eleven by himself. Just hope we come out with something to cheer about so the honeymoon period can kick in.
  8. do you think I'm suddenly going to say everythings alright then ? Optimistic bit of me says its a stroke of genius and he's seen the light, 2 years too late. Pessimistic bit of me says its a last desperate hopefull step that he hopes will save him at least 100m quid until he finds a buyer. I'm surprised you didn't remind us that Fat Freddie Shepherd originally signed Shearer so now deserves the credit that Shearer's around to save us! Are you saying that a board that signed Kevin Nolan and Ryan Taylor is better than one who signed Alan Shearer and David Ginola?
  9. Wouldn't it be funny if the board brought in a manager under false pretenses yet again? Shearer thinks all of this is just a smokescreen he's going to get the job at the end of season, the board actually intends to brings back Kinnear. Shearer finds out and breaks Llambias' nose and walks out. ...Fans everywhere go rabid.
  10. Can somebody call in and tell him he's a fucking idiot for me?
  11. See this is exactly what we went through when they said they'd be offering him a three year contract. "Oh it's too stupid to be true, they're just giving the media sound bytes." Nothing is too stupid for the current regime. I have a feeling that Shearer will keep us up and then we'll go through Keegangate all over again next season when they force Kinnear back in.
  12. They'd probably put his corpse in a tracksuit, string it up on the bench, and pay it 10k a week. Jesus, I'm not even joking.
  13. Asking myself "what could get Joe Kinnear sacked" scares me. If he ran on the pitch in the nude on Saturday, pulled a jigsaw out of his pocket, hacked Michael Owen's head off, and then proceeded to w*** off in the center circle with Xisco, Llambias would probably say that they'd wait out his prison sentence and give him a pay raise.
  14. Not charismatic? This man could exude charisma just by staring into space
  15. I feel like he'll be back unless he leaves voluntarily (which I think would be a possibility if Shearer did well and the fans were in an uproar to keep him on.) We've already seen to what extent the club are willing to do weird and crazy things to keep their precious Saint Kinnear on board.
  16. This is the first time I've heard Dowie speak, and to be honest, this is not how I imagined his tone of voice would be like
  17. "If Michael is fit he'll start on saturday."
  18. The club have already made plenty of criminal decisions, seeing Shearer off and bringing Kinnear back would be exactly at their intelligence level.
  19. Come now, have we now gotten to the point where we strawman people before they've even opened their mouths?
  20. I still wouldn't put it beyond Ashley to let Shearer go and reinstate Kinnear if we stay up.
  21. out of love... i know i will get lambased for this, but if keegan loved the club so much, why did he leave it in the mire he did, and why is he suing the club for compensation shows that shearer is a proper man, and is willing to put difference's aside to save the club from relegation top man This is something a lot of people have been arguing form the moment Keegan left, and it's only been made even more clear by Shearer's actions. He's shown us what a real legend does.
  22. GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL TOTAL FUCKING FLUKE!!! ...
