  1. good enough for KK, good enough for me.
  2. 91% humidity. Jesus Christ. (...crickets chirp)
  3. Lmao NO WAY!!!!!!!!! deluded smog infested supporter Rest of England is free to continue and think that way if it keeps the big clubs from sniffing around Beye.
  4. South Korea v. Cameroon in about half an hour if anyone else is bothered. We've got some exciting young lads in the team, and they're arguably playing better football than the senior squad right now. Should be a pleasure even if the Cameroonians plaster us.
  5. Please, please, please let it be true. 'He would make a squad player, if he was rubbish, utd wouldnt of brought him. As for a bad season at Newcastle? tell me a player that did have a good season apart from Milner. Even owen was not as good as he should of been. If the price is right, i would take him. He would also have to work hard here, which as we can see by last season, no one has had to at newcastle.' 'If he was any good United wouldn't have sold him. Ask yourself why Newcastle are willing to let him go for half of what they paid for him just last year , surely they need good players more than what we do . He is on £60k a year at Newcastle and so thats a lot of dough to pay someone who you say will be a good squad player. Football is all about opinions and you seem to like Alan Smith. However I do not and think that of we have any aspirations to improve our squad , then we shouldn't be buying cast-offs from a team like Newcastle' 'Newcastle played some of the most absurd formations last season. 3 strikers in Owen, Martins & Viduka, then 3 holding, defensive midfielders in Barton, Geremi & Butt. What was Smith supposed to be doing? - he was meant to be a playmaker/winger all of a sudden?!... Here's a quote from Sir Alex Ferguson about him playing the deep-midfield role ; Quote: "Roy sees characteristics in Alan that he saw in himself as a young player, which could help Alan develop into a very good player in that position." Now, if Roy Keane, Sir Alex and now Moyes think he's truly got what it takes - who does anyone think they are to argue?.' 'decent player, and was used as a hard tack-ling type midfielder, and he could be your future replace ment for carsley, and he can grab the odd goal or two. you might not think that he is all that, but for everton he would be a good buy, and even a bargain! and like some said, you also need the numbers aswell, and you could infact do alot worse with the likes ong f fernandes (in-consistant) and moutinho (un-proven). all 3 are good players, but atleats you know smith can handle the PL!' EFC opinions. Whoever the lad arguing for Smith is, get him a fucking medal!

    Alan Smith

Why don't we? Because Smith is better than we can actually get? A Premiership club can't sign a striker capable of having more than about five shots a season? Howay. Should've picked up Dong Gook Lee when Boro released him, at least he can score against League One opposition.

    Alan Smith

no he isnt, he's worse than nothing It's a tough call, they're very similar players. Roughly the same number of goals, assists, or even shots on goal per year. I think I'd still give it to nothing though. He can play any position so he's more versatile, plus he's on significantly lower wages. Oh, and nothing doesn't have that ugly as fuck hairdo.

    Alan Smith

It's seriously getting to the point where if someone asked me if I'd rather have Europe next season or be shot of this useless fucker, I'd take the latter.
  9. well, at least we didn't buy him
  10. Coloccini in to start at CB, cover for RB Bassong in to cover for LB and CB Enrique - Faye - Coloccini - Baye Bassong - Taylor - Cacapa/Edgar - Coloccini dear God, I never thought I'd say this but... out defence is completely sorted.
  11. Would love to have him here. Aside from being a good player, he'd blow the "current board is skint/KK has no backing/daeHtihS" arguments out of the water.
  12. Oba must be devastated. Seemed so close to his mother. Wish him and his family the best.
  13. Didn't think it was possible for me to hate Chimbonda any more than I already do, then he goes and signs for Sunderland
  14. Exactly. I don't think he'll walk at all. He'll get sacked. You're our little ray of sunshine, aren't you
  15. The season hasn't even started yet, do we really have to be worrying ourselves by imagining scenarios where KK could walk? I know this is Newcastle, but surely this is excessive even for us
  16. Wouldn't put much stock into Russian media rumors. If it's true, I hope he bangs heads with Modric on the first day of training, giving both skull fractures and putting them out for the season.
  17. His movement isn't fast enough you mean Aye, I suppose. He's a plodder who'll not stop running......just not quickly enough to get about the park. Personally find the idea that Milner is so slow that he can't even play in the center of the park laughable. The man's not a tortoise FFS. Slower players have played at CM just fine.

    Tim Krul

Hopefully if we do loan him out we can get him to a Championship team at least, would prefer to have him playing at a higher level since he's been at the SPL for a year.
  19. Think we need a DM and an AM as the bare minimum before the season starts. If we get a CB and a striker on top of that, I'd feel good about our European chances. If the whole "Milner in the center" thing works out, I suppose our AM options are good enough with Milner, Barton, and Guthrie to choose from, although it's been mentioned by KK that he's looking to convert Barton into a DM
  20. Wouldn't mind Malbranque but we're already well-stocked in the position he plays. I don't think KK would be going for him unless we're letting two of Zog, Milner, and Duff go. Can't see him playing as a CM in a 4-4-2 either. Good player, but we've got more urgent problems.
  21. Milner's weakness as a winger has always been his lack of pace. Put him in the centre and he has less need for that, with the added benefit of not being forced into trying speculative crosses. Like KK says, he's got a great engine and technique-wise I think he's one of the better players in the Premiership. (There, I said it, let the flames begin ) I say it's worth a shot. He's only a mediocre winger as it is, worst case scenario he becomes a mediocre central midfielder. Good squad player either way, but I think CM plays more to his strengths and gives us a shot at making him worth much more to us than he is now.
  22. Makes a mockery of his excuse to leave Tyneside for London. A year can change things.
  23. We could use a player like that too, incidentally.
  24. http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?s=&showtopic=17518&view=findpost&p=416148 Make your mind up. class mackems.gif mackems.gif
  25. Seeing how it looks all of Blackburn's good players are packing up and leaving, we might as well finish the job by going in for Santa Cruz. Surely the rumors of Arsenal wanting him can't be true. I think we'd get him for 10m-ish. (braces for the news that he's signed for Arsenal tomorrow morning)
