Will The Players Take Us Down Like Last Time?
Vinny Green Balls replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
Whether we go down or not, there is clearly no future with Ashley. For the record, I think it's a finish of 15th-18th. -
He'll be here as long as Ashley is here. Nailed on! I've spent ten years using photoshop. My skills, I can see now, have been honed specifically for this moment. My original plan was to photoshop every Republican Senator gape-mouthed at a glory hole in the hopes that one believes that I actually got a photograph. But perhaps I should do this with Ashley. Make it so real that it convinces even Ashley that it happened. Blackmail the asshole out of the club.

Exactly, Apisith. To support the regime, even if it is against your best interests, is madness. -
Those soundbites are just about as convincing as Sarah Palin's. Yet there a re a whole army of Tea Party activists. The thought of that press conference quelling a bunch of supporters' fears makes me ill.

On the contrary, I think it is madness to allow Ashley to get off scott-free with his reprehensible actions. Pardew, no matter which way you look at it, is a manifestation of these actions. I won't go so far as to wish leprosy on his c*ck, but I certainly won't get behind the guy, and tacitly give Ashley a reach-around. The cycle stops here with me. -
Either way you look at it, we got royally f*cked by Ashley and his cronies. Comprehensively...definitively. Every time Pardew shows his mug, it will be a grim reminder of the utter contempt and hubris with which they have been running this club. While Ashley is here, he will continue to lay down the mines. There is now absolutely no reason to believe that it is ever going to get better under his regime. The whole thing stinks to high heaven.

You could still love Germany without supporting the National Socialists. I'm clearly not saying that this is on that level, but the badge in the long term is what matters. These tits are doing a great deal of damage to the club. A tarnished reputation tarnished even more. Considering the circumstances, even if Pardew went on to get us a European place, I would still be angry. It is anathema to the spirit of the game, in my opinion. That innocent act of kicking a ball around. This is sinister. It is a group of despicable men with no regard for the history and identity of a club. It is a group of despicable men who treat the fans as one dot on a metric. What is each fan worth? What about the sense of belonging? The passion? How a win brightens the weekend, and how a loss can ruin it? How 90 minutes can make us forget how much we hate our jobs (or how much of an unhinged nut my girlfriend is)? I worked in both the corporate world and as a high school teacher for a charter school. I saw enough nepotism, cronyism, corruption and backstabbing behavior in that world. the last thing I need is to see it in my form of escape from that world. I suppose this is why I am so furious right now.

Mowen is right to a certain extent. But this has more of a feeling of an ousting, rather than just a manager losing his job. Something royally stinks about this whole scenario, and although Pardew is not the main culprit, he deserves some scorn, in my opinion.
-
Pardew deserves every bit of the hostility he gets. If reports are true, he was complicit in the ousting of Hughton. He knew about another colleague being shown the axe before said colleague knew...and he was waiting in the wings. There is ambition, and then there is right prickery, of which his actions fall into the latter. Not to get on my high horse, but where's the moral compass? Where's the respect for your fellow colleagues? I hope every other manager treats this prick like a leper's testicles now. There is no excuse for this pile of dogshit's behavior, in my book. I'd rather have Gordon Gecko take care of my bank accounts than have this asshole near the club.

I am really beginning to believe that Ashley is not operating from a business perspective at all, but with some sociopathic urge to feel beloved. When the lot of us came around to Hughton, and his name started being chanted, Ashley goes off in a jeaolous rage and undermines him. Sunderland was the final straw. The problem with him is that he is a cheap, odious scumbag who is incapable of bringing good feeling out in people. I would be interested to see his hiring and firing practices of management in his business. How much of them are based on business, and how much are based on some prick becoming too well-liked by co-workers? -

Shit, what makes it worse is that NE5 and Howaythelads were dead on, at least with regards to Ashley. The fact that they were Shephard apologists par excellence nearly counteracts this, but f$ck me, there are entities out there who are worse than Satan, scientologists and Joseph Smith. The true Law of Attraction -----> wish for Shephard out, and you get Ashley. Wish for gold, and you get a gilded boot to the nuts. -
That's just it. To state the obvious, Pardew is nothing if not a puppet of this f*cking regime. He'll spread his cheeks with a smile on his face. As soon as his asshole clinches in anger, Ashley will kick him out the door, bleeding pants around the ankles.

For me, at some point I have to listen to my conscience here. Pardew is bad enough. But how he came in...on the wave of an apparent coup tells me that this is a man with absolutely no class, now ungainfully employed by man with equally no class. This is the footballing equivalent of the Bush administration installing their own puppets in Iraq and Afghanistan. -
Maybe if we could get a couple of Northern European girls to claim he IS a rapist, we could get him locked up for a while. Seems to be working elsewhere in the news. You have several hundred thousand Geordies who could make that claim.

In Greek times, it was simply a way of climbing up the social ladder. -
One thing I will miss about Chris Hughton...
Vinny Green Balls replied to Dinho lad's topic in Football
that he was a Premier league manager without a completely punchable face. Redknapp...Allardyce...and now Pardew thrown in the mix. -
The man is coming in under acrimonious circumstances. This prick Pardew is part of the ouster, particularly if golfmag is right (which I certainly have no reason to believe otherwise now). He was complicit in the odious treatment of Hughton, and therefore will not get any support from me. In fact, I hate the pr*ck even more. Props to Jol for not even considering this job.

I in no way support cronyism in any form, hence I will in no way support that dour c*nt Pardew. -
It's so bad that it converted me from perpetual lurker to poster. Not even Souness or Kinnear could do that. What makes this slightly worse than relegation for me is that we got a get out of jail free card when we won the Championship with style. I felt that we were in no danger of getting relegated, based on the absolute sh#t in the league. With just enough quality in the first team, and a strong team spirit, I fully expected us to finish 12-15th. Take away the good feeling, and replace it with that utter c*nt Pardew, and we have a very good chance of dropping like a meteor. A perfect chance for redemption, and then this. 2008-2009 could have been seen as just unpolished ineptitude at the time. This seems much, much more sinister. We'd be better off if Joe Pesci from Goodfellas ran the club. Then at least we'd see Llambias hung in a meat locker at some point. Alan Pardew? WTF?

I've been lurking on this board since the old days. I've been a supporter since the early 90's, and with having no connection to the city. I've stuck it out through some utter dross. I travelled form the states to see us spank Wednesday and Southampton in Sir Bobby's first season. I stuck through it when Keegan walked...when Dalglish underwhelmed...when Gullitt soiled St. James Park...when Sourness was appointed...when Roeder was handed the full-time position...when Keegan walked again...when that utter prick Kinnear rose from the dead to make an utter ass of himself...the horror of final day relegation...the disappointment of the board sticking with Hughton...following a Championship side from the states. Finally, I came around to seeing that Hughton was the best thing to happen to us since Sir Bobby. He restored hope in this club...in my supporting the club. In a world of cronyism and utter corruption, he was a top man doing a good job...and under a disgustingly fat Kim Jong Il (if he was a bit more unhinged). This is certainly the lowest I have felt since I jumped on the train, particularly because it reminds me of working in the corporate world and as a teacher. Football is meant to be an escape from this. And even that escape is taken away from us. The whole f#cking spirit of the game...gone. Why the f#ck am I stuck with this club when I have no real connection to it? And yet I know that my dumb ass will be asking the same question in 10 years.
