  1. This fucking attitude pisses me off tbh, appeasors and appologists like you, people who try to talk as if they are the voice of reason, but really have no fucking clue. Some of the crap you post, is mind boggingly niave. It's not too late to take a chance, there's 8 games left, bring a new guy in, get a honeymoon period of 2 or 3 wins, ala BSA at blackburn, Sbriga at the dirty mackems and many, many more examples, even Souness here !! And you're well on your way to getting out of this mess. The crime here is not to act and to sleepwalk into relegation, we are going down without a bloody fight atm. agree with afar completely although i see where ian w is coming from...it won't happen, simple as
  2. can't understand the hate ? he's here for exactly the same reason as the rest in that we were the best available option at the time. oh, it's cause he's a massive part in our current predicament, in every sense never wanted to be here & would have been gone already given a sniff of a chance same goes for the vast majority of the squad no, it doesn't due to the size of the fee & wages vs return on said investment but i see what you're saying any decent human being would have signed a contract extension with us given what he's provided in terms of value...he hasn't, says it all hope he rots "Hope he rots"? Good god, man. It's only a game. I like how he says he's hated him being here, then says he should sign a contract extension. i didn't say i wanted either doofus, i was suggesting the man should have shown loyalty that's all So if he signs on you'll be pleased? not in the slightest, you?
  3. been an average season, wouldn't vote for anyone who doesn't swing the title tbh

  6. Been superb this season which is what he's up for? Don't see the problem. question would be who's been better? gerrard will (and should) get it if they race to the title but this season has been short on good individuals shola aside
  7. didn't he finish at home vs chelsea after a glorious pass by hugo? outside of the boot iirc, delightful pass & finish
  8. what did ronaldo get last year to win the lot? messi should walk all awards this year

  10. to me it's in the head versus below the head - messi, ronaldo & gerrard all have technical skill but for me the physicality of gerrard/ronaldo mean they don't need the upstairs part...messi has it all (- the physicality) and that's why he's the best he does his thinking with his head not with his body so to speak...a scalpal vs a hammer... He's surprisingly tough IMO, can take a knock. aye yeah, but you've seen the SIZE of gerrard and ronaldo right? they knock people of the ball when they're on the run - messi will never do that, is what i'm getting at Yes Ronaldos well renowned for his strong physical strength and ability to stay up in a 1-1 battle he's hampered by his antics...90% of the time defenders are bouncing off him imo...or never getting near him

Watching Messi play is absolute poetry in motion. Everything is so natural to him. If you compare the dribbling styles of him and Cristiano for example, all of Cristiano's stepovers etc seem pre-meditated and forced, and they don't look as fluid. When Messi is running with the ball it's all instinct, he'll have the ball under such control that a defender will think they have a chance of actually taking the ball away from him, but his feet are so fast they are lured into thinking this. So they then commit to making a challenge or stick their foot out thinking they have a good chance of getting the ball. Then with in the blink of an eye due to this Messi has already skipped past the defender. It's absolutely beautiful to watch. all agreed i watched him play a game this season and he went at the defenders twice and scored twice by skinning them; the third time they were expecting it and he played etoo in for a pass instead it's all upstairs, he reminded me of a footballing muhammed ali with an anti rope a dope it was a joy to watch

  13. only interesting bit for me was the neck & back injuries, if true he's fucked owen could stand doing nothing all game in a decent team and he'd score more often than not, unless he couldn't actually walk, simply down to his instinct and this is from someone who hates him fiercely

  16. I don't get what you mean. If you reduce the operating costs you already cover the drop in income, because income is used to pay the operating costs.. Plus when you sell the player you not only reduce costs through cutting wages but you also bring money in through transfer fees (if you get a fee that is). My point is we won't need to sell half the squad to break even if we reduce the costs enough to begin with. I’m not surprised. It confuses the hell out of me. There‘s three ‘separate’ losses in the event of relegation. The fall in TV revenue (£44m) The fall in gate receipts and corporate stuff (£19) The predicated operating loss if we’d stayed up (£7m) Grand total of to break even next season if we go down, £70m. Now forget Owen. His wages have already been paid upfront with the Northern Rock sponsorship money, and having him off the wage bill would have already been factored into the predicted £7m loss for next season. The same goes for Viduka and probably Geremi who is also out of contract at the end of the season. So if we are to break even we have to find £40m (after parachute payments) to break even. <pause for inevitable quibbling> He's creating an efficient business mate. Doesn't really matter what league we are in or anything, he's just creating an efficient business. Many people on here wanted this. So they ought to be happy with it. Good old Mike, and the "plan" he had which his predecessors never had, ever. We might get some good away trips at Blackpool, Bournemouth, Southend and Plymouth in the next few years. who ? as i remember it most just saw that we couldn't just go on racking up more and more debt year on year. as plenty other clubs have come to realise. why bother?
  17. "centrehalves in the Chamionship generally play a physically close-checking intimidatory game" sounds like coverage of the MLS
  18. hope he rots EDIT: classic short sighted footballer....had he not looked at the next short term move when at liverpool & real madrid (i.e move abroad then rush from real to make the WC squad) he'd have broken the english goals record comfortably in short he's blown it all through his own poor decisions, imo
  19. i really want to say a couple of things but can't 'cause i know i'll get fucking crucified if i do, so i won't i was old enough to remember, watched it live on tv and it was tragic & avoidable before anyone starts
  20. he'll retreat to his mansion, won't see or hear a thing
