you never know like but i'm inclined to think the financial meltdown will end up pushing his hand towards spending some money, might not be HIS money but he could easily go down the route of investing the clubs money fact is we're in very real danger of relegation, getting relegated would further decrease the value of his investment - if he has anyone advising him they should be telling him to throw 20m at the squad or risk losing a hell of a lot more than that should we go down
-
do me a favour, he's got no principles, that much is clear since he arrived - begging & scraping for a contract and generally being the clubs mouthpiece...not a chance kinnear walks, none

first game we've played against liverpool with colo right? astute spanish manager (benitez) who presumably knew enough about colo to tactically exploit his major weakness in the air, that was no coincidence if the team were raped today colo was gang raped, so to speak

prolly play the cunt CM with butt, dream partnership
-
this!! it's fucking mind boggling

if he was any kind of animal the injection would already have been administered to put him out of his misery

10m+ ahem, blind hope, 'cause if we don't spend that (and realistically we won't) we might well go down that performance today was terrifying when you consider some of the games we've got to come
-
who keeps telling you that?
-
Thank fuck for that. I think I'd have preferred it if JFK had realised he was complete toss. Me too. Watching the game today I actually said to my dad that I don't care about being weak in full back areas, needing cover elsewhere - we need to spend every penny we have sorting out the centre of midfield. Can't see us ever competing at a better level unless something is done. aye, defence will get slated & rightly so but our CM was an utter embarrassment the day like

a good manager creates the conditions so it looks like a monkey could do it and...... a) our best left winger is playing on the right and duff was very close to setting up an opening goal for us with a ball n'zogbia wouldn't have seen/couldn't have played and b) we've seen what happens when you just play "a defender" there ie carr and taylor just in order to have a defender there. you say potato i say tomato, or something by the way i fundamentally disagree about jonas being our best left winger, i can't remember seeing him put a cross in tbh & he doesn't head for the byline half as much as zog...are they not 2 pretty big asks for wide men? i'm not slating the guy by any means, like them both but i honestly don't know how you can say he's our best LW whats this f***ing mania with crosses. it's not as if we have sir les back is it. choose the right ball at the right time be it a cross or cut back (re martins second against villa). i'll say he's better cos he does more with the ball and more off the ball and loads more defensivly. i honestly think the whole thing with n'zogbia is that he is more exciting. ie he'll get the ball and run at people (even when it is the wrong decision) and it gets people excited when he gets past one or two before losing out as he'd held on to the ball too long. no doubt if n'zogbia had played the ball through for owen that duff did yesterday it would be a sign of his brilliance and had he missed the chance duff did "at least he got there and was in the right place" jonas never crosses, ever, but he runs with the ball and makes things happen - albeit not that often directly as his assist stats show zog crosses more and tries to get the byline more often, personally i like his pinged low cutback crosses when he gets there and cuts inside the man forcing him to either give a pen or let him go, zogs stats also show he doesn't directly assist so often either i mean why are we arguing about it? they're our best two wide men 'cause they make things happen for different reasons, like the owen/martins debate really and yeah zog is exciting, nothing wrong with that is there? lots of stats in there. did you know if you completly miss hit a pass that ends up being an assist it ends up in the assists column. also if you do all the hard work, win the ball in a 20-80 challenge, fight off two other players, take it past another two then play a 40yd diagonal ball through three defenders, to get the ball to player A who lays it off simply to player B to score it doesn't count as an assist. nowt wrong with being exciting....if there is an end product. hm, still failing to see your point tbh - the best wide players will have a higher number of assists & goals, no? i, personally, feel end product is something that is lacking from both spiderman & zog but they both offer more on the pitch in wide positions than anyone else we have at the club (i've seen play), that's basically what i'm getting at what are you getting at?

N'Zogbia: Lyon interested according to agent

nailed, amazing that eh? the only two attacking players we have with any pace creating goals and that... -
must say i agree with ronaldos sentiment, a monkey could manage a team when things are going his way & he has the players he wants; good managers are defined by how they cope with problems, i.e. what do you do when your left back is injured in warm ups and there's no direct replacement?: a) move, and therefore nullify, your best left winger giving a certain amount of attacking impetus to the opposition because they now don't have to worry as much about him or b) replace the injured defender with another defender by trade, thus keeping your "threat" in it's place i'm a b) kinda guy myself, charlie is/was just starting to hit some form, we'd have been far better off leaving him and playing someone like edgar at LB wasn't this the big chelp after stoke? kinnear shuffled 3 people playing them out of position in order to accomodate taylor? it's essentially the same mistake for me...but oh no wait JFK is learning from his mistakes isn't he?
-
i always felt he was THAT good, to be able to cover some of the average to shite players he was alongside to the extent we'd be ok i did wonder sometimes though, if the heights to which he impressed me weren't a little bit influenced by how bad the defenders before had been!! concluded probably not, he was an amazing defender for us, if we ever see anyone in his class again i'll be delighted

Goals were flowing past because Coloccini wasn't defending properly? The point is, Coloccini, even in his worse games, has been the best central defender this club has had since Albert & Howey. If not better. Should not forget Woodgate, even though he wasnt here for too long and also got him self injured, but he for sure was one great defender! I have not forgotten Woodgate at all. But he was here one and a half seasons, and barely played for us (28 games or so?). Coloccini is well on his way to going past that in his first season alone, and he does not look injury prone to me, having played every game for Depor last season. Fingers crossed, knock on wood and all that, long may it continue. I agree btw on fitness terms, but on pure ability Woodgate despite hardly playing for us is more than likely the best centre half we've ever had. woodgate was the best centre half i've seen play for us in my time. agree, after cannavaro he was the best i've seen in the flesh full stop who else have you seen? good question now you ask it, pretty much anyone playing for an english prem team from our 2nd season up under keegan onwards to 2005, at least one leg of all the european games we played until 2005 when i pissed off out the country fucked if i'm gonna try and name 'em all though!! cannavaro & woodgate stand out, to me, for their intelligence and reading of the game - they snuff(ed) out problems before most defenders would even know one was coming

why can't he just shut his fucking mouth? What's wrong with that like? What's right with it like? Letting people know we won't overpay for players? Or letting them know how much we are willing to spend gives them an idea of our budget. They'd probably get an idea of what we were looking to spend when we made a bid. I wasn't just talking about the team we're trying to do business with though. Other teams will have an idea as well, which is one thing I've praised this regime about is not airing transfer dealings in public like we have done in the past. Then we have this gobshite in charge. Can't see the problem in saying we won't overpay for players though. Me neither. Which is all he has to say, he doesn't have to mention any figures. Not that I believe him anyway mind. he's just a gobshite; my contracts this long, no wait its this long, clubs being sold next week, alan shearers gonna be the next manager, oh no he's not, ashleys coming back, oh no he's not, we're not willing to pay what a club wants for this player we want to buy howay man, he's got all the class of mackem pondlife...in no way, shape or form can publicly disclosing fees and negotiations for players help our cause, so he should fucking shut his mouth and carry on with the decent job he's doing coaching
-
things is, with owen, he's been out of the team so much it's not like we've built a team and style of play around him or anything is it? martins still has the pace so whether we get another diminutive poacher like owen or a bigger target man to play off like viduka i don't think it matters goals are all that counts...as someone else said maybe it'll signal a change in direction 'cause ashleys mob certain won't understand the "number 9" factor like FS did and spend to keep it going...they'll just not do it, whoever they sign, if anyone will follow the bassong/jonas mould for me goals might need to start coming from around the team a little more, change the style of play that way and yes, i know owen isn't number 9
-
Yeah, righto, Freddy. Course we would have. absolutely priceless, should be a timely reminder of (a) what a mouthy fuckwitted t*** FS actually was & (b) that chairmen/owners don't always know a lot about football - topical one that 3rd place The same owner who was caught on camera saying "I'd drive him back to Liverpool". christ aye!!
-
not seen as much as many but he makes mistakes (colocini), the important thing is he seems to be making most of them in non-critical areas that's a good defender, the likes of ferdinand make mistakes all the time they're just generally not "bramble-esque" howlers in his own box

How does Mort rate as a 'Credible Chairman'? He's done the job for, what, 6 months? not actually sure i said he was did i? i liked the way he went about his job, seemed to realise people like keegan knew more about football than he does...he's also not a buffoon like shepherd or a probable cunt like llamblias he'd do for me, what's you problem? who would you choose? says it all. who did, JFK? i have an irrational hatred for llamblias, i really really do...i don't even try to justify it, he just epitomises cockney spivs in my eyes
