only way forward tbh...get a credible chairman to run the club probably with a set budget by ashley...all day to day running handed over to the chairman and ashley to fuck off out of sight and mind aim for a gradual improvement until the market picks up we will not be sold under present conditions & the current state of affairs will rip us apart if allowed to continue

N'Zogbia: Lyon interested according to agent

lets exercise some balance here - the alternative to charlie is duff, does anyone really want to see him leave? -
i wonder if recent events at spurs might have opened his eyes a little? if you believe the rumours about ashley & his 'spurs mates' etc... you might think he'd been getting his ear nipped to follow their system, well that system has gone to utter ratshit now and one of the main job contenders post allardyce has taken that job!! maybe no connection whatsoever but i'd like to think it'll have made him realise the need to balance out what could be a valuable asset to the club with the need support his manager...if he comes back and realises that i'll be happy enough assuming JFK never makes it past may '09 that is, we simply can not allow this man to run our club permanently despite a couple of decent results

Yeah, righto, Freddy. Course we would have. absolutely priceless, should be a timely reminder of (a) what a mouthy fuckwitted twat FS actually was & (b) that chairmen/owners don't always know a lot about football - topical one that 3rd place

Did he f***, Lennon raced away from him time and time again, it was the excellent cover from N'Zogbia, Bassong and Jonas who kept Lennon in check. Twice he went past Enrique into the penalty box and sending in good crosses. Lennon impressed me today, excellent running and good decision making, although lazy in his tracking back. In Enrique's defence I think the none yellow card he received early on didn't help his game vs Lennon's. Quote from a Spurs fan: 'I dont understand why he didnt switch lennon in that match. The left back had him in his pocket the whole game, why keep him there?' I agree with him, I saw Lennon get past him once. I counted 4 times, twice he went into the box and fizzed in dangerous crosses, once he won a free-kick after another of our players bumped him off the ball and another time when Lennon cut back on himself allowing Enrique to get back into position. Don't get me wrong he never tore him a new arse hole but he gave him a tough time of it and Enrique didn't have him in any pocket from where I sat. I will say this, in the latter stages of the second half Enrique was more solid and Lennon become less of a threat. I can't remember if he was switched by then or not but I did notice an improvement from Enrique before going off. I don't get all this he was superb, one of his best games etc. though. that was exactly my take on lennon vs enrique, 100% bang on...if lennon had produced anything one he DID beat him them people would be slating enrique imo

Jose Enrique out for at least three weeks with hamstring injury

again, you're referring to the 2 times it was obvious lennon had skinned enrique...he did him a lot more than 2 times in the game, he just didn't do anything with it once he'd beat him there's a difference - i don't think anyone can honestly say enrique had the edge in that confrontation yesterday I would say he did, even the commentators mentioned how frustrated Lennon was getting at Enrique shutting him out. Also, surely Lennon not doing anything with the ball on other occasions is due to the defender forcing his position? You can't take the ball off of the attacker every time, sometimes you need to track them and shut them out. That's the way I see it anyway. true we see things different ways, i play LB and the first thing you do is not allow an attacker to beat you and create space for the cross...enrique allowed that to happen a number of times but to his credit recovered quite often due to a combination of lennon's dalliance and his own persistence i'm a fan of the lad but i honestly don't think he was great yesterday -
agree about shearer over hughes, in fact i largely agree about shearer over anyone at the moment - seems obvious to me that hughton is a pretty good first team coach, the defence has done well since he arrived (barring the period he was managing) so why not someone like shearer with the existing setup he needs to take over when we're shite, not when we're good, now seems more or less ideal

downgraded the threat level to 4 now - 6 wins over the rest of the season gives us 40 points, i reckon we'll scrape that well enough all things being equal

He had final say on him when he was over on his trial. But don't let that get in the way of yourself talking shite or anything. Keegan picked all the signings that did work out, Wise chose the ones that didn't. Everyone knows that. Not at all man. The Bassong deal is a perfect example of how a scouting system should work. The scouts done an excellent job in picking him out, then it was left to the manager's judgement if he wanted to keep the player. black and white ain't it man? if you like any of the summer signings you automatically hate keegan, if you love keegan you can't give credit to wise & the cockney mafia

lad looks to be what we've been crying out for for years, unassuming all round good defender - fine he might never be maldini but how many ever are? should only get better with age

he dropped him a lot more than the two occasions everyone is referring to - difference was lennon ran it blind alleys most times so it was forgotten but granted, he managed to block a lot by hook or by crook i guess -

You have got to be kidding me or we were watching two very different games. Lennon beat him twice and tried at least 6-7 times with both speed and trickery, that's good enough for me. If you are looking for a LB that keeps Lennon completely quiet, then you're looking for a top notch LB in the mold of Ashley Cole or a younger Maldini and we all know how much they cost. don't know like, the bit where he "fell" on lennon as he was away, also when he was blatantly pulling his shirt and the ref let it go...plus the times he was beat tell me what i needed to know, saying that he could have been covered better by charlie, granted he did better by the end of the game but i thought he struggled to keep up for a lot of it...still he never gave up & you could say ended up on top i suppose first time i've seen him up against real pace and thought he found it hard
