Show me the figures from these 'analytics' then, it'll help me quantify what you're stating, otherwise it seems that what you're saying is largely anecdotal without much basis. To make accurate, or even anywhere close to accurate forecasts on anecdotes and stories is pure insanity in an economic context, there must be some hard numbers somewhere to back this up (I studied economics at college, I don't profess to be an editor of the Financial Times but I have more than a passing interest in it). I know the Swiss aren't part of the EEA ffs I was using them to create context. And it's not just the Icelandic President, it's members of their General Assembly as well. Feel free to post any links/references to Norway pursuing the Swiss model though, being averse to the UK joining the EEA/annoyed at Brexit and the forecasts mentioned above. I'm not having a go at you here, I'm genuinely open-minded to anything you have to say (and as a matter of personal/national interest)...but admittedly I need hard evidence, or at the very worst more than loose narrative. What specifically do you have more lobbying power than Iceland and Liechtenstein in? I'll PM you when I get back in later Better discussing there than in here, and even more so than in the EU thread where nothing makes sense. You'll need to have google translate handy though I guess

Of course I know how economics work, do you know what analytics are in relation to that? And how they have an effect on the future planning? You can accurately make a prognosis on future effects you know. And people pay into the EEA agreement based on overall spending power. Your inclusion would increase that number significantly. That is the number being bandied about. The argument is that we should leave the EEA if you are included and go for a Swiss solution. This will probably never happen, but I for one support it. The Icelandic president means nothing. It's the Prime Minister that's in power. Swiss is not part of the EEA at all And our political strenght in relation to negotiating with the EU will be transferred to the UK who will take the lead due to being a bigger "force". We'd be relegated to the sidelines. This is an irrefutable fact. It's that way already with how we absolutely trump Iceland and Lichtenstein, only with you in we'd be relegated to their level of influence on negotiations.

Is that a political reference? Duh. Why's he joining the bandwagon? Last time I checked Iceland weren't even in the EU We're all afraid you guys are gonna come f*** up the EEA. We're not fans of yours anymore (We = EEA countries) You know I'm Norwegian and our PM is all over the news angry at the UK? Just today she was speaking in Brussels saying she was shocked at the fact the leave politicians had no plan and did not know what they were talking about during their meeting. I know you are luckily for us news is worldwide and easily accessible, and I've read some pieces from those in the Storting that have supported Brexit. From what I've read too, it seems that Solberg is concerned about an introverted, divided new Europe, not 'angry' at the Brits...she goes on to say that she respects their choice. It's not quite as black-and-white as you claim. Let alone many in the Norweigan population itself (from both sides) have various opinions. Same with Iceland. Same with Switzerland. Talking EEA here. Not general opinion amongst various politicians regarding the UK Your being part of the EEA will triple our costs and lessen our political strenght, why would they want you in?

  7. Don't get this whole love in with Armstrong the lad looked so far out of his depth when in the premier league he came on or started. yes he's scored goals at Coventry but that may be his level he's shown nothing to say he's got it at a much higher level and the fact he's local is a piss poor argument Taylor Colback and Ameobi were local look at how shit these are. who gives a fuck if they are local or not they are paid to put the ball in the net the people saying Dwight Gayle is a dodgy deal need to give their head a shake we are a championship club now and he's looked sharp quick and an eye for goal in the premier league whenever I've seen him something our strikers have never shown he'd instantly be our best striker by a complete mile I'm still backing our Serbian full international.

I'm not solely blaming the media, as I've said. I've just said how the cycle usually goes. Hodgson was a shit choice for England manager and a lot of shit came because of that, no doubt about it. But it doesn't mean that just changing the manager will solve all of Englands worries in the future.

    England

Let's jump ten years into the future. England has produced an LW and an RW that are world class. However, the current England manager has built all his success on playing as narrow as you can. No width, and it's had great success. Knowing what I know about England, I would 100% expect the manager to somehow end up picking the two wingers - which he never would ordinarily use - and put them into his side, just because they are "world class". This will then make the England side implode, as it fucks up all tactics and plans that have worked so well. What England needs is a manager that has a vision, and the balls to stick with that vision. Rooney doesn't fit your style of play? Fine, leave him home. His name and reputation shouldn't mean he has to be in your team if your team performs better with a style that would not suit Rooney. This is where I think the issue of the media comes in, as the shitstorm that would ensue should a manager, ten years in the future, leave out the world star wingers because he doesn't want to waste two spots on players that does not fit his vision... the media would implode. It'd be a witch hunt. Supporters would read all the papers and go "I believe everything The Sun writes, fuck this manager! He's fucking England up the ass!", which in turn would seep into the dressing room, making the players feel unrest and the vicious cycle continues. England can never play the way the manager wants because if they do England will fuck up the manager.

I think it's fairly obvious the media takes a large part in picking your team because you have weak willed managers in charge. It's not just the media, as mentioned in my posts. It's just one part of a larger problem that needs correcting on all levels to get a fully functional team.

Youre moving towards Pardew thinking there talking about wanting it enough though. Conte has his tactics perfect, he knows the strength of his side, his formation is perfect and they are superbly drilled. Its not really about wanting it more. England had players who challenged for or won the title this year when it was unexpected. The attitude was there, the gameplan was not. Teams sat back and waited for us to open them up, we played with one striker in the box. Its amateurish stuff. The attitude was absolutely not there. Italy had attitude and tactics. Just look at Buffon. Look at Pelle shouting at his midfielders. Look at how they communicate. Now, compare that to England. Kane just looking at people. Rooney not knowing who the f*** the c***s are around him. That team doesn't want it, the players are there because they are expected to be there. To include Wilshire instead of Townsend is a perfect example. Same goes with no Drinkwater. No Carroll. Hell, you could even argue that Simpson should've gotten a look in. They communicate as they know their jobs. Rooneys an awful captain who doesnt talk. What could Kane do? Ignore the managers instructions lads, lets not hug the touchline endlessly? Kane, alli, vardy etc are all having their first go youre telling me theyre not fussed? Walker and rose for the first time? Dier? Its a fake reason. Its tactics, they were all lost. It's not. Especially when you compare the squad performance with past squads. I can't say I know the actual mentality of the players, but I'd say Vardy would be a lot more up for it than Rooney, for instance. Of course players are fussed, but the mentality is still wrong. It's created by the media, and the massive amounts of money in the PL. It's not the players explicit fault, but it's an obvious issue. Saying it's not is just continuing accepting nothingness. Get someone in who can fix it. Fix it within the clubs. Try to pick players who aren't massive egotards. Try to pick players who like eachother. Try to sculpt a fucking team. England have very good individual players, as mentioned time and time again. The issue is they don't perform together. That's not a tactical issue, as you have far too few days with the playerso on the International scene. It's a mentality issue. These players need to find the proper team spirit and then combine this with the tactics they're being told by the manager. Of course, the best thing is a combination of a good manager and a good mentality. Which is what I've been saying you need. Get a big personality in. Someone the players would want to impress, someone that makes them feel proud that this manager has called them up to represent England. That will go a long way.

My personal take on England is that the mentality is so off throughout the entire system. The players are looking like playing for England is just something they do every other month. They don't seem proud to be playing for England. They think they are good because they are good players - no focus on working as a team. Big egos abound and the players seem like they hardly know eachother. There's no pride. No passion. No belief in the team above individuals. Look at Italy. They've sent one of their worst squads in history (based on player by player comparisons - not actually how they work as a unit) and are looking like they want this. They play for eachother. They are proud to play for Italy. They want to bring this home. They're not just there because it's something they kinda have to do. I don't see a qucik fix for England. You need a manager that can sort out the mentality of the players and make them love their teammates and be proud to be involved, not just feel like they are there because they're entitled to. Even if you get a big personality in like a Bielsa I don't think it can sort out the mentality issue as there's just not enough days with the squad to build that. It needs to be changed at club level. You need to pick the players that are hungry. Your Vardy's, your Drinkwaters, your Townsends. The players that want to play for England and feel proud to don the shirt. But due to the way the media controls your entire squad, and the way you keep picking weak managers to manage the England team - always picking from name and not performances - you'll always have the same issue. They'll feel they are entitled to play for England. A team full of weaker individuals proud to be there and wanting to fight could still outperform a team full of entitled cunts. We saw it this season with Leicester. It's what needs to happen to England, but it will never happen - and that is very sad. International football is the one stage where you could put someone like Shearer in charge and it could have a very positive effect. An English legend steering the ship could change some mentalities, even if Shearer isn't, on paper, the best manager ever.
  18. You watched that youtube doc too that was posted here a few days ago? Nah, an article in a Norwegian newspaper. Was linked to an article with the headline "Miracles exist"
  19. Poland 1 - 2 Portugal Wales 1 - 3 Belgium Germany 0 - 1 Italy France 1 - 2 Iceland
  20. Been reading up on Iceland now. They have some amazing things in place for developing their youngsters, even the coaches for 4 year olds need to have at least a UEFA Pro B license All kids play for free, parents don't need to pay a participation fee. Parents not allowed to say anything to the coaches or they're not allowed to come to the matches Kids get divided into how good they are from they are four years old. We need to adopt this model. This seems like some good shit.
  21. Probably send us all a f***ing participation medal as well. There will be a trophy now. Guaranteed, man I was gonna do it anyway because I'm a sad b******, but now I'll feel good doing it Spend your money on something else man. f*** that trophy. Imagine having to ship it to khay or Coco the devil? It's honestly not that expensive My only issue is if whoever wins it will pass it on when they lose it the following year Just make a new one, you could probably afford about 60 trophies. Good thing Mike is out because like fuck would he let me ship something to him
  22. Portugal, Belgium, Italy and Iceland. France will implode at some point and I'd love for it to be against Iceland
