Not many player's of Botman's qualities are available in the market, whatever we'll pay for a replacement will be much more than what we will pay for his renewal. Not convinced at all with this lad, he's not really got standout qualities at either attacking or defending and while he does work hard he's hardly influencing games, for about 25 minutes in the second half we had a huge gap in our midfield and they were running at will at our defenders and he was nowhere to be seen.

Good performance from him today and having Wissa back will mean we can rotate him a bit and give him a chance to work on his game more. his link up play is still weak but glad to see him get on the end of two chances to score.

I've said it a couple of weeks back but his biggest problem is his football IQ which isn't something that can be coached into him, he'll have to find it within himself to get better and focus on the pitch when he is there otherwise he's going nowhere. He's pretty much set us back from the first 5 minutes of the season with that miss and hasn't really helped the team improve at any level so far. he's got a lot to make up for going forward.

I think the biggest complement i can give him is while he was fantastic as a right back we also really needed him in midfield in the second half when we suddenly had a big gap there.

He's got around 50 first team appearances at different levels so he can hold his own, i think we'll see a bit of him in the next period and hopefully he can grab his chance.
