Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Entering the 5th minute of injury time against Norwich we were 7 points behind them, 5 games later we are 7 ahead. Those 2 goals are proving massive just now. -
His biggest problem is self discipline and he easily loses motivation when things aren't going his way. At PL level he'd need good protection around him to help in play his game, I think we'd have to either build a midfield around him or could revert to being a bit part player at PL level. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

Am I reading this right that; they actually managed to lose against themself in 15/16?
-
Wolves has been a bit hot and cold but they deservedly beat us. Think he's been a goner regardless
-
RIP, true legend of the game.

They'll not be happy when they find out how many tickets we've sold for that tin pot cup tmrw.

Has RTG had a clamp down on Nufc threads? Must be a taboo subject at the moment?

I thought that the atmosphere at St James was a bit flat yday, makes this Man C morgue sound like an AC/ DC concert by comparison. Pep must be loving it.

9.5 at the moment. Been looking at some other boards and have to say that Brighton have some right precious fans knocking about. Some of them obviously think that Rafa is managing a pub team and will fuck off to some team knocking around the PL relegation zone come January. As much I like Hughton I'd like to see them lose a few just to bring them down a peg or two. -
I don't think I'd fancy being owned by a Chinese consortium, they'd be in it for the money over glory and could well ruin a club trying to make the most of failed investment. Better the devil you know over that. We need a benevolent, money no object, glory hunter, with limitless patience with Nufc to take over from Mike.

Looking at their forum, it would seem that Derby may be our main rivals. McClaren is their messiah, top 6 in the bag. -
Think Huddersfield will win this.

I'm Hart's biggest critic but that was a fantastic save

That's a fabulous read. I had to do a double check to confirm it was a chronicle journalist who wrote it, Mark Douglas as it happens, one of the better local journalists for me. Douglas needs to have a word with the proof reader.

Bollocks these like, can't now go Forest away and 7.45 on Boxing Day is just shite.

I've had a look on a certain video website to check my failing memory. I'd previously mentioned it pissing down in a motd game at home to Fulham - I knew it was Charlton, look for Newcastle v Charlton and it will come up, you can't really tell but the rain was torrential and the steam coming off the crowd was something else. The next item after that game is the Derby 4-0 game, well worth a look, we were great that day, the crowd amazing, oh for safe standing. Must also mention the KK FA Cup game at Liverpool, around 14k of us there, what a night, also on that well known site. The noise we made all through that game was something very special.

7,000 locked out that day. Every match after that was all ticket. Remember the panic when they locked the gates at the Gallowgate with 1000s legging it round to the Leazes as word went round that there was still a bit of space in there as we stood there smug watching them all because we had our season tickets. They games weren't all ticket after that, I used to play Saturday afternoon so didn't get to too many games but I was at Derby at home where we put in 4 and another game shortly afterwards where we smashed some team and both times I ended up in the Leazes after they locked the gates in the Gallowgate. Anyway, memories; ending up on the pitch at home to Everton after fights broke out with away fans in the East Stand Paddock, Hibs fans looking to take the Leazes at HT in a pre season friendly, petrol bomb game. As for matches, far too many but a mention to the Fulham game which was on motd, it p*ssed down all game and we came back to win very late on and there was steam coming up from the crowd in the Gallowgate. Could go on for ages; Gayle and Bennett game, nearly throwing up on a NYD when hung over and McCrerry sliced his leg open in front of us. Brighton filling the Leazes end on their way to promotion and QPR hammering us as they went up - completed outclassed us that day. I'd best stop now, so many great memories, oh Kenny Wharton sitting on the ball..... We drew 1-1 at home to Derby that season. You're right, I've just checked, it was Notts County we put 4 against and we then put 6 passed Barnsley. I haven't bothered looking but did we put 4 passed Derby when we went up when Keegan was playing? I've got memories of them in an orange kit and we put 4 in

I think we've played 7 of the current top 11 sides (excludes us) in our first 10 games. Many of these have been homes games but I'd have thought we've had a "tougher" set of fixtures than the other sides near the top. Saturday will be an interesting test. -
Just seen his assault on Gayle; what a loon. Gayle in a neck brace and Rafa with broken ribs wouldn't be good. Hagrid's daft brother comes to mind.

Put in a cracking cross when Ritchie should have scored but hit the bar.
