  1. Can't see him being interest in Championship football; he often struggles to bother his arse in Premier League games.
  2. Has a team scored 3 goals when down to 10 men in the PL? Other than us.
  3. That's precisely my point though. It wasn't a meaningless afternoon. It was 52,000 fans all pulling in the same direction for one purpose, to try to convince Rafa to stay. The game itself was meaningless, but as you keep telling me over and over again (even though I agree with you), sometimes it's about more than just the game. Agree completely Hindu; I was there and I've already posted something similar. There's posters on here who berate the match going fans for being complicit whilst they stay away. There have been times when the match going fans have been wrong but today was not such a day. Today was a day where they were magnificent; the bigger picture was seen, goals were cheered but the team was not (save for Townsend when it looked like he was being subbed). It's only right that you celebrate a goal, Rafa would want to see that and the support Rafa received was not only genuinely heartfelt it was constant and it was compelling. If Rafa stays it was the match going fans that have swayed it not the stay at home conscientious objectors. Each to their own but today was a truly inspiring show of support for a manager and hope for a brighter future. If Rafa doesn't stay then the club can rot in hell until Ashley goes; the fans have spoken and for that all, both match going and non match going, should be proud of their conduct today.
  4. The crowd were magnificent today; not a single protest against Ashley, the board or the players. The support given to Rafa was unwavering and really rather special. There's people on here who constantly slag off the match going fans; if Rafa stays today may be the day that he and the club realise what a special place it can be. The fans did their bit and more, I was proud to support club today. If they fuck this opportunity up they'll get all they deserve; today was a day where all that was good about Newcastle was laid bare. Another 90 minutes that encapsulated the sorrow, joy, hope and plain stupidity that comes with supporting this fucked up club. I walked out the ground smiling and laughing; how mad is that?
  5. warnock? has that been mentioned somewhere? In the press; must be a wind up. Just imagine, Charnley comes out saying we couldn't get Rafa over the line but we've managed to snare Warnock from Rotherham.

They must have the impression that we'll all be looking to the skies, shaking our fists, seething at those pesky, funny, more intelligent and infinitely more charismatic, good looking Mackems. Hopefully it doesn't fly over the ground on or around the 17th minute but, if I were a betting man. They're trying to bolt on a charity factor now as justification for this prank to deflect criticism. Classy as always.
  7. Sadly A, Rafa if he stays may only last a season or so. Got to look at the bigger picture, Ashley going is the ultimate goal so the sooner the better. Put it another way Ashley goes and there's hope we appoint a proper manager anyway.
  8. The club must have had a good idea what Rafa was going to say and he'll already have told them who he wants to keep, who can go and what he needs. He's too much of a perfectionist not to have done this; I imagine he'll have his contract lawyer making sure any contract is water tight over all his key demands. I'm hopeful there'll be nothing but support for Rafa tmrw, no point in booing the team; that's done, it's time to start building the future and that starts with Rafa. If the club fail to keep him they surely know that there'll be a reaction and that any new manager would already be starting with a huge disadvantage. I'd say lump on Rafa to stay.
  9. Colo got nowhere near the level Woodgate achieved. I don't think most people realise just how good Woodgate was.

They're trying to get another plane sorted. Not obsessed mind.
  11. Productive: Soz Rafa, we can't afford to keep you on unless you take a 90% pay cut, wash the kit at home and bring the half time oranges.
  12. Rafa should make our useless knackers watch these twats celebrating.
  13. Almost unbelievable that we've slept walked into another relegation and have again kept Sunderland up by failing to beat them during the season. Don't expect any statements from Ashley addressing this fiasco.
  14. Great to see Everton upholding the integrity of the Premier League. We deserve to go down but bloody hell the Mackems don't half get the rub of the green a lot of the time.
  15. Not a free kick, goalie not allowed to save it....

    Steve McClaren

He is a complete fraud. Pardew is an odious, low moraled, tactically limited twat but; as much as I dislike the bloke he's Alex Ferguson compared to McClaren. The smirking drivel he came out with time after time following shambolic performances probably annoyed me more than Pardew's self proclaimed brilliance/ not his fault buffoonery. In fact, McClaren's shite did annoy me more; he was trying to take us all as fools and smiling his way through out
  17. Can't find what price we are to win The Championship next year however, we are 1000/1 to win The Prem, Sunderland are 1500/1. Hmmm.
  18. I've seen us go down 3 times, this would be the 4th and the most avoidable. We shouldn't have gone down the last time but Ashley made a right mess of the manager position, he should have seen the signs this time around and it's almost beyond belief that he stuck with McClaren so long. If we keep a semblance of a decent squad and make one or two sensible signings I think we'll go straight back up.
  19. I have sympathy for Mitro in that we shouldn't have bought him in the first place. He hasn't got the mobility needed to be a decent striker in the PL. We'd have got rid of Cisse pre season if we could have, the fact that we knew this and that the need for a proven goal scorer was essential, buying Mitro was a truly terrible decision. We had Cisse, Rivière, Perez and Gouffran (not even true strikers) to realistically choose from and despite clearly needing 2 new strikers, with 1 being a proven goal scorer (preferable both) we bought a young lad from a poor league and seemingly without knowing his fundamental weaknesses. We'd have to play dinosaur football to get the best out of him. When, hopefully, they disect this season I hope they realise that these birds coming home to roost were foreseeable, avoidable and almost inevitable. Had they asked any sample of supporters they'd have received better recruitment advice. Heads need to roll.
  20. Sunderland will murder this lot. High tempo and they're on their hols.
  21. As much as I want Rafa to stay I've no idea why he dropped him for a home game and played him in all the away games.
  22. Watching Leicester is reminding me of that wonderful day when we beat them 7-1 and paraded a trophy. They're now celebrating the real title and we're on the brink of relegation. What a crock of shit today has been.
  23. His mobility is very limited; awful signing for what we needed. Then again I think we all knew that we needed a proven goal scorer before a ball was kicked.
