    Unbelievably good goal
  2. So when McClaren turned the job down towards the end of last season are we assuming he wasn't offered a place on the board then? Since then Ashley made that Sky interview before the last match. I'm hoping something really has changed but it's usually smoke and mirrors with this lot. Moncur is clearly there to be a voice to the fans to get behind the club; I just hope he has the balls to make say it as it is. I've no doubt he loves the club, used to see him in Berlins with Spike Rawlings most Friday nights years and years ago and bumped into him in the Ramblas when we lost 3-1 years later. He now has an opportunity to make a change. Or does he?
  3. I think his wife will be quite cosy in Central London while he has to dodge around Croydon playing at a 3rd rate ground. He shouldn't be going anywhere there if football was his main priority.

See they've now set up a fund to buy Advocaat's wife some flowers for allowing him to sign. Up to £650 now just to show how class they are and to show "us" up. Comments include "donated a fiver FTM". Says it all. Suppose we better set up a fund for McClaren's wife - if only to try and keep the him away.
  5. Better not to make this appointment; it saves what would have been a messy end in a few months time when Vieira had finally realised his mistake and Ashley's lies. It also suggests Ashley's idea of major player investment may fall short of most other people's expectations.
  6. Whoever we appoint is going to need serious investment in the squad or the poor bugger will be a basket case by Christmas. If we do get Vieira I'd hope he'd been satisfied with our plans whereas if we appoint McLaren I'd be more inclined to feel that he'd accept the job no matter what. I can't imagine Vieira would tow the line for too long if he wasn't happy with what was going on. For that reason alone I'd rather see Vieira.
  7. Their fans gave it Billy Big Bollocks because their team was so good and they didn't like anyone saying otherwise or challenging their best fans tag. I had trouble at Anfield in the KK cup game and even up here in his Farewell game. Great side they had, they were followed by some right toe rags. They've been trying to rewrite large parts of their history. Not met a single good humoured Lpool fan, met some who've given it the jolly scouser routine as a prelude to bother. Had a car load of them trying to flag us down on the A69 looking for a fight. Shit Houses.
  8. Good Luck and Good Health.
  9. Liverpool fans were to blame for that end of the ground and I have to say that around that time their fans weren't adverse to causing bother wherever they went. The ground wasn't fit to host the game. I have a vivid memory of a Juve fan with a gun in his hand on the track behind their goal. I have to say that I've met more shithouse Liverpool fans than any other set of fans in this country.
  10. FIFA is so currupt that Blatter is in an impregnable position. Can only hope that some squealing goes on and he has to go. If not then EUFA should pull out and start again. In the present set up, when Blatter goes he'll simply hand pick his successor and tell his cronies to vote for them.

Fat Sam is happy in London and would take a bit of persuading to go to Sunderland, he wouldn't come cheap. Fulham could be a good bet for him.
  12. But that does have a history behind it when the spoilt toff picked the football up and ran off. I've now idea how the Yanks get football from it. Did a Pilgrim do something similar and why isn't Basketball Basketfootball as there is a net.

    Steve McClaren

McClaren's comments don't sound like those of a man with a job lined up. If he really did turn us down I can't see Ashley agreeing for him to be appointed now. Before this turned down episode I'd been told (from someone who knows and speaks to Carr) that McClaren was the only name in the frame other than Carver. Appointing McClaren now would look a bit of a joke despite being "good value" now that he's been sacked. The media will be waiting pens poised to pass comment on the new man given Ashley's pre match interview. He's got Season Tickets to sell, should be interesting to see if he gives a single shit given that he looks to have talked himself into a bit of a corner.
  14. for what? The Premier League. He's simply not equipped to be an effective, regular player in this league. He's shown this time and time again. He had a very good game on Sunday but West Ham weren't really at it and he usually just gets bullied out of the way. If he's a regular next season the Ashley won't have spent the cash and we'll be in bother.
  15. His work rate and tenacity was fantastic yesterday and he should have nutted Carver when he picked him up like a schoolboy when he was subbed. However, he's not good enough and anyone thinking he could be a pivotal player with his passing and movement are living in dream land. The best bit about him yesterday was his willingness to be a constant pain in the arse. It says so much about where we are that Anita was the player doing the spoiling role. Colback and Sissoko were largely anonymous in comparison.
  16. Goal aside he was woeful today.
  17. So he's taken to publicaly lying about his intentions now. He really is shameless. He'd have to spend 50m or so just to make us mid table. Sounds loads but it's peanuts to him and he's hardly invested in the side for the last 3 seasons. He could spend 150m and again it would be peanuts to him but it would be a more realistic figure given the TV money. He's clearly rattled but he's going to try and fool us by spending as little as possible to be mid table and claim that we've given it a go. The shit he spouted about wanting to win something was embarrassing.
  18. He's turning up to create a negative atmosphere and increase our chances of losing. Must have a wedge on West Ham
  19. He's got that much money he really doesn't need to sell us until he gets bored. He could sell us for a massive loss and he wouldn't notice the difference other than it being a figure. Problem is that he'll simply not do that, if we go down I really do think he'll find a way of loaning us more money making us even less attractive to potential buyers. Unless we go down another division or so I think we're stuck with him for the foreseeable future. It would take a major campaign to get the thick skinned, malicious git out of the club.
  20. What's the Arsenal fans boycott for?
  21. West Ham apparently want Benitez for next season. David Gold thinks West Ham are some major contender being a London club moving to the Olympic Park. There's big trouble brewing behind the scenes, next season could be fun down there.
  22. The back is absolutely awful. Stripes please.
