  1. Drew against Arsenal? Late equaliser for them I think so they probably felt like they won it.
  2. I think they've trialled pre match drink in some grounds lately. This was at St Mirren before Xmas. https://www.stmirren.com/fans-news/6152-st-mirren-granted-alcohol-licence-for-saturdays-match-against-livingston
  3. "They were never gonna take to me because they thought I was Mike Ashleys man". Well that's exactly what he was and complicit in the stagnation/regression of the club. Happy to go along with the lack of ambition.
  4. 1993 since Arsenal won the league cup they said tonight. They're shite ☺
  5. I'm not condoning getting on our own players backs and sometimes we are guilty of over reacting but it's just out of frustration and a desire to see us win games. I think we all want Elanga to come good.
  6. Or wait til you get home. There are opposing fans forums for that sort of thing.
  7. Would have been fantastic if that final was any other weekend but I just couldn't think beyond the derby game. Shit timing. Last time they won it in 2013 I was away at Wigan suffering yet another defeat there. Noticed you mention a few Berwick games. We used to bump into a Berwick fan from Sheffield on the trains. Takes all sorts eh , but aye the fans are great. More old school grounds as well. Love the way the cups are taken seriously like they used to be down here too. Scottish cup everyone will put their strongest team out.
  8. Wow. That's fantastic. Sounds like you've built up a real connection with PSV. Excellent. Puts my piece in the Paisley Daily Express in 1985 in the shade . Just a bit of the story of me travelling up from Newcastle and a pic with a mate up there. Me in my toon top and him in his St Mirren shirt. I still enjoy my days out up there though.
  9. I guess you'll be known to a few over there by now? I had a bit of a similar experience when Newcastle played a friendly at St Mirren years ago. After doing the St Mirren trips I mentioned earlier for years, suddenly they faced each other and naturally I went in the Toon end and wanted us to win. Still felt very strange. The only time I've been in that stand up there, with it being the away end.
  10. Bet Huddersfield thought it was a bearpit with 22k in there earlier in the season . Tickled our bellies? You've tickled us laughing for years by managing to drop into league 1 etc. Relegated by Burton btw, who you used to try and mock us with when we went down. "Enjoy Burton" blah, blah. Not even the 1st time you've managed it after being in the 3rd tier in the 80s.
  11. Toon v PSV will be an interesting one for for you Wallsendmag.
  12. The better but not a good side, which is obviously very worrying from an NUFC point of view.
  13. I always do a few St Mirren games a season. Have done since the eighties. Was at the opening league cup game at Arbroath and was at Hampden for the semi v Motherwell. Didn't go today cos my heart wasn't in it with it being derby day. Newcastle is my club after all while St Mirren are a club I watch on a spare weekend and like to see do well. One of the greatest days in their history today but one i could take little pleasure from after that shit show from the Toon.
  14. I need to stop reading this thread and ignore any build up TBH. Really don't know how anyone enjoys these days.
  15. Absolutely. Don't want any excuse for criticism from that lot.
  16. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx23gm9kvnlo
  17. I was only a bairn but remember he tore us a new one in a game at St James's, late 70s maybe. Did he get a hat trick? As you can imagine he'll go down in folklore in Sunderland for that alone. Bad memory but RIP. I hope we show some class and honour any tribute tomorrow.
  18. Not there myself. Would have gone if it hadn't clashed with the derby game tomorrow but my St Mirren supporting mate has travelled up to Paisley today before the Scottish league cup final. He's bumped into Paul Dummets dad in a bar. Can only think he's there because Paul played for St Mirren on loan when they last won the cup in 2013. Connor Newton, also on loan scored the winner v Hearts that day.
  19. My old mate and Cosy Joes DJ Wee Phillie just been on SSN giving it the biggun 10 mins ago. Said it before but this is a man who hates Newcastle so much he spends every weekend here. How he gets away with it I don't know.
  20. Excellent. Went to a stag do over there last year and Glentoran were at home. Passed the ground from the airport and I wanted to go. Others questioned my sanity tbh so unfortunately didn't get there. A Belfast derby today isn't it?
  21. You'd think they'd keep an eye on that sort of thing considering the current demand. We used to sit up there next to a bloke with his son. After we moved out, his son moved into the Gallowgate with his mates but the father stayed up there, alone, for a good few years after that.
  22. Genuine question but once a parent and their young'un (now too old) move on from the family section who do they reallocate those seats to? And isn't it hard to find those moving on seats elsewhere these days? When me and my young'un moved out of there we could take our pick but times have changed.
  23. Our current owners must really wish they hadn't inherited such a massive family section. It was only made that big because Ashley was desperate to put bums on seats.
  24. Wissa's gonna get you, Wissa's gonna get you!
