Basically, selling Smith would relieve the wage budget if we're led to believe the figures, and it would force us to buy another forward. A player like Heskey would provide much, much more than Smith.. and I don't rate Heskey at all.

I reckon he'll get a run of games to be honest. He's been riding on the "recovering from injury, no preseason" ticket for a few seasons now. Keegan will give him a chance to show he's still got something and THEN dump him from a first team spot. I'd love to be proved wrong.. but it's Duff, aint it.

Gutierrez has been everything I've expected from what I saw of him in La Liga, although I didn't expect him to be so strong. Looking forward to see him in a competitive match, if this is how much he puts into friendlies.
