  1. Except Italian football is boring and racist. Big sweeping generalisation I know but I don't care. So there.
  2. Thing about the City goal is that although the finish was pure luck, his control of the ball and body movement was spot on. Really bizarre really As for the other point, I don't think one person on this board said one good thing about Shola during the Keegan era. And why would they? We had Owen, Martins & Viduka firing on all cylinders. I am absolutely perplexed by the resurgance of wor Shola. If Kinnear some manages to get Alan Smith to score a competitive goal here then THAT will be an achievement.

    Jonas Gutierrez

I'm made up for Oba aswell, I can't remember the last time he got a brace in a match.. hopefully he'll go on a bit of a run like he did in his first season for us. I think it's no small coincidence that Enrique as resurfaced to the first team when Jonas has come back from injury.
  4. Kinnear likes a strong targetman type striker, I very much doubt he'll drop Shola for Owen.. and I reckon he'll be more likely to choose Owen than Martins regardless of his last few goals. Saying that though, I doubt that Owen will start at Fulham either. I'd love it if that was the case and Oba really fought for his place.
  5. We beat Reading? I'm guessing it was the Pompey draw after that.
  6. Haha cheers, for a second I thought I wasn't down with the slang. But I totally am. Word.
  7. Top right, looks like chunk outta goonies. I like this game.
  8. There's a communications link on .cock and if you click on it, you go to a live webcam of Llambias & Wise making paper aeroplanes and Ashley playing with a ball in a cup. I bet the aeroplane only has one wing, but has potential. It is a fact.

  10. Wasn't Fulham our last win under Allardyce with a 90th minute penalty from Barton? This'll be far from easy.. Kinnear has put his faith in players like Duff, Ameobi, Butt and to an extent Martins, who are all capable of putting in a good shift for the side but are also prone to becoming very anonymous. If he can get these players believing then the 3 points should be ours, if they fall back to their old ways then Fulham will snatch it.
  11. What's this mean out of interest? I'm probably reading it wrong.. just curious.
  12. I'm still confused at to where his pace has gone. I know he's had a few injuries here and there but I can't recall him having one like Owen or Shearer. To my knowledge he sat on Chelseas bench after an ace season at Blackburn and has lacked speed ever since. He's not quite Geremi-esque, but when I watch him play I don't see him as that much of a speedy player. Nice to see him put the effort in though, I always appreciate people who'll put in the hours.
  13. he was penalised for 3 last night for just standing his ground. i've said repeatedly on here that i've never known a player like him to get penalised for doing nowt and then not get anything when blatantly fouled. crouch is similar tbf. I was thinking this last night during the game.

    The 'SPINE'

My problem with that spine is that it's all very new. Given is the only part of it that I'd trust to be there on a regular basis for the time being.. Owen is almost definately gone, so he can't be relied on. He's also as fragile as an ice sculpture. Martins is hit and miss.. he'll either dazzle or infuriate. He'd be a brilliant foil for a consistent Viduka player though in my opinion.. Ameobi? Who knows. Barton has been a revelation coming back in some ways and has been responsible for creating chances and for the team pushing forward.. but I full expect him to trigger that dormant FA 6 game ban from a stupid action on the pitch or similar, whether it be just or unjust. As far as Coloccini goes, I'm a big fan of him. He rarely makes mistakes and is a confident player, someone that we've been crying out for.. but he's not even played 20 games for us yet. The top teams have defenders that have been there and been consistent season in and season out. I'm going to wait until the end of the season, as I remember going on about Woodgate being our futur until he was sold to Real Madrid. It's a decent spine, but it's the spine of a child.. just needs a while to fuse together into an adult one.
  15. Funny how some people are so vocal about a tired old debate yet rarely if ever postbin actual match threads Maybe because they're actually at the match.
  16. Stick that on a f***ing mug. And then they can stick that up their arse.
  17. I like Shola and he tends to play better after an extended run of games, such as with Roeder, but I doubt he's got it in him to stay free from injury or in-form. If he's still performing coming the end of January who would be against renewing his contract? I'm still very much undecided.. I'm just waiting for him to fall back to the awful form of recent years. I feel the same about the likes of Duff.
  18. Was it Barton with the first assist? 2 assists in 2 games if true.
  19. All the teams we wanted to lose this weekend have won, it's written in the stars that we're going to lose. Because we're Newcastle, that's what we do. I'm not feeling confident about this at all, I continue to be underwhelmed by Kinnear's running gob and lack of tactical eptitude. Don't even get started on the substitutions! If we win this game, it'll be by luck, with the odd flash of brilliance. It'll be a horrible match to watch no matter what the outcome, really nervy. Oh and what Wullie said. Nicky Butt could be hobbled in a Stephen King novel and he'd still game at this club, it's a fucking enigma.

    Martins

Martins will be the one giving way though Drop Oba for Owen, he would'nt would he? surely its Shola to make way. Doubt it, Ameobi is performing for JK and I reckon he'll want Owen to play with a large targetman type striker.
  21. This is spot on, I'm a referee and that's how I go on. I've got no problem with banter as long as it doesn't turn sour.
