I can see LFEE's issue in that if he plays really well for us and we have to wave him off at the end of the season a la Remi, it'll be a kick in the dick. But even if we bought a left back and he was awesome, chances are someone could just as easily come in and buy him off us. It's a risk free way of filling a problem area for a year and gives us a year to find a permanent replacement to the problem. Truth is we can't rely on Haidara and Mbabu and Dummett just isn't good enough at left back. Galloway can fill that gap and Haidara and Mbabu can be rotated in when available.

I tend to agree, we're paying him a wage and if he's as desperate for a move as much as he says he is then it's in his best interest to prove he doesn't belong in this league by being the best player on the pitch. Dummett is 4th choice CB for me, nothing else, Anita should be 2nd choice right back and Colback should be shot with shit. We really are pinning our hopes on Diame being the spark we need from MF as there are no other options, Shelvey hasn't the desire for the challenge and we desperately need a proven goalscorer and a left winger to give us some width and less predictability. I'm sure Benitez already knew most of this and will work it out before the transfer window "slams" shut.

Got to be honest the signings of him, Clark, Sels (pointless signing IMHO) and Gayle (not a big fan) have not impressed me - I hope I'm proved wrong mind and I do have faith in Rafa so you have to trust his judgement. We've known for a while the squad was paper thin, I think a few of his buys have been "padding" players, also we know he likes to rotate his starting 11. Gayle I think will come good at this level with the right partner, he hasn't had the best managers utilising his skills so I'll reserve judgement until I can see what he can do under Rafa. The only one I don't understand is Sels unless we're losing Krul.

If Colback is anywhere near the starting 11 for this one I don't think I can even bring myself to watch it. Agreed, I think it should be Hayden and Diame in the centre, we need someone that can either come forward in MF or make that killer pass rather than knock it about the lines. Fulham made a couple of really neat forward passes that cut out our back line, I can't recall us doing the same at any point, slow, laboured build up play, left to right and back again across the lines then swing it in for a couple of midgets.

Not worth losing the will to live over, it was a killer though today was supposed to be a new dawn but it ended up being a hangover from last season. The same culprits as last season too, I think Rafa will learn from this and perhaps it was a wake up call to all involved, (a) it's not going to be a walk in the park and (b) don't play 3 DMs and stifle any creativity we could have had in the team. Fully expect Diame to replace Colback and hopefully 1 or 2 new players before the next game, striker is a must, in the absence of Mitro we need some presence up front.

Perez and Gayle can't play up front together, needs to be one or the other with Mitrovic as soon as he's available. I know Benitez likes to work from the back and is a defensive coach, but some games are just crying out for a bit more than that. I'll never get my head round starting a game like this with 3 DMs. Starting line up was all wrong, subs, as usual were spot on, but momentum was lost way before they came on. I trust Benitez to see the issues and change things, McClaren and Pardew would send out the same team week in week out hoping for change. With the new signings to come in and two good home games coming up we need to put this loss to bed asap and move on. I hope we never have to see that ginger twat again and Anita needs to be kept on the subs bench for emergencies only, he's a good utility player but never a starter. Richie will be our star player this season if he continues to play that way.
