Only here can we get a player back after a 4 game suspension only for him to get injured after half a game and have our best two strikers out in our most important fixture so far FFS
-
Quietly confident on that draw, of course it will depend on league form at the time.
-
Don't have much knowledge of him to make a judgement so said judgement can wait until he's had a few games for us. He's here and he's playing for us so he gets my full support until/unless he turns into the next Colback.
-
Hope we do and put them out. That said, a cup run is the last thing they need with their small squad and impending relegation battle 100% have to beat these fuckers if we get drawn, don't give a shit about extra games, we need to kick them while they're down.

Just paper gossip, nothing concrete yet.

All said and done, Rafa has been very public about him, he's happy with his attitude and work ethic in training, he likes the guy and is in no rush to sell him. That will do for me, if no bids come in for him and he stays, Rafa is confident he can do a job for us then so am I. He's not gone the right way about getting a transfer, there's obviously not that much going on up top between those ears, but that doesn't mean he has a bad attitude. His form is sporadic but even on a bad day he'll be the best/one of the best players in the league. If he goes I hope Rafa gets the time and the money to replace him with genuine quality, if he stays then I'm more than happy with Rafa's judgement of the player.

We shouldn't be losing at home for the rest of the season tbf, teams will try and park the bus at St James' we've seen it already and we've lost because of it. Rafa will know this and he'll have wisened up to it, he'll know what we have to do and I trust his Mekon sized football brain to get it right.
-
Looking less and less likely he'll get his "dream" move, Rafa must be coming to the point where he'll just decline any offer that comes in for him soon, it's just too late to replace that kind of quality in the Championship.
-
I've never seen him so the fucker must be fast.
-
It's exactly that, I've seen enough of Judge to want him here, I think he can do a real job for us and with the players he'll have around him he'll be even better than last season. However that doesn't fix our problem now and if he was the only purchase for that position then move on, but I don't think Rafa is that daft and is just looking at a cheap purchase that he know will be a good aquision when he's fit and he'll be looking at other targets to fit in right now. In short buy him, but make sure we're adding further strength to our wings also.
-
The contract extention is so that we can retain some value in him, that was publicised. I guess a permanent switch will rest on a couple of factors, being how he performs/recovers, how Sels/Darlow perform in his absence and the league we'll be part of next season. I have a feeling he'll be gone by this time next year, which is a shame, I've always liked Krul and he'll always be remembered for THAT performance against Spurs.

TCD wants to know if he's any good at GenesisPressing.... I'll get my coat

The fact we're replacing a player that has looked jaded for a while with a player that wants to be here and is adding as Segun said above, athleticism and pace which we have long missed, I can't see this as anything but an upgrade. Sure he may not be at the same skill level as Janmaat but what's a skill level worth with no application? He'll boss this level and we can upgrade as and when we need to.
-
aye just like all them cup ties he won with us? He won a few league cup ties, it was the fa cup he was awful at. That and the fact the FA Cup basically kept him in a job last season.
-
Customary cup win to paper over his league deficiencies tonight, that should buy him more time to keep them tumbling down.

Sounds like the Shelvey I've watched in a Newcastle shirt since his arrival. Loads of talent when he's given time and space, in between invisible. I find both Colback and Shelvey highly frustrating. Shelvey goes missing when the tough gets going. Colback doesn't hide but doesn't stick his neck out with anything innovative or creative. Put them both together and you'd probably have a decent all-rounder. Unfortunately, they're two halves, and two halves that wouldn't make my first 11 in an ideal world. Colback likes to hide behind opposition players when the pressure is on so he can't be passed to, no real loss to the team other than playing with 10 men like we do whenever he's on the pitch. Of all the players I want to see leave he's the top of my list.
-
Not really fussed he's going, he's had some good partnerships down that right hand side at times and we've relied heavily on him in the past but he's just so positionally suspect and too error prone. £7.5m for a player that looks like he wasn't going to feature much is good business. Can we now start getting into a deficit on transfers please, the money is there, finish the fucking puzzle!
-
Tonight just cements the truth, Colback is shite at any level, how he has a professional footballing contract will be a mystery to the grave. Sooner he's gone the sooner we'll start to look more threatening.
-
I know you meant expansive but made me chuckle, we improve and the ticket prices go up Damn autobahn
-
Probably just precautionary, no point in playing on with knocks if we're winning at a canter. Hopefully just need a day or two to recover.
-
3 wins on the trot, doesn't matter how they're won the confidence will help us be more expensive as time goes on, I'll take that all day.
-
Tbf I think it is imperative to win this one, it might not be a must win in the grand scheme of things but another win can only breed more confidence and we need as much as we can get right now.
-
Only if we can get Alardici in as manager
