Hm. There comes a point, as there did with Pardew, that a manager's shitness can not and no longer should be tolerated regardless of the consequences of ousting him. I'd say McClaren isn't miles away from that, a couple of heavy defeats in the next few games Inc a cup exit and he's got to go. I think the press will be doing the hounding as they don't seem to care much for McClaren (failed England manager - they will never forgive him). They give less of a shit about us so probably won't bat an eyelid about us being where we belong.

There are varying degrees of shit and until Ashley goes we will always be shit it's just once a manager reaches a certain point you're just flogging a dead horse into oblivion. As you say a few more heavy defeats and out of the cup at the first hurdle and you've got to think we'd be better off without him.

Parish today in the papers saying he wouldn't stand in Pardew's way if Real Madrid came calling for him  That would be comedy GOLD!!

Glad you're back, mate thanks man, was in a bit of a personal grim one, but feeling better now. Good to be back Good to see you back ManDoon, hope all is well now

Absolutely spot on. Bingo. We can't be having that kind of logical, independent thought going on in here, clearly Pardew is a mastermind and we were shackling him with the players.

Looks like a regular league run for us. Don't think I'll even bother watching the score for this one on the BBC website at work. Clearly going to get mullered

RIP Pav, truly an adopted Geordie and a part of a golden era in our footballing history. Gutted, thoughts go to his family in this tough time.

Glad I'm working for this one after reading this shit, sick of the same shit every week, we're truly fucked aren't we?

He's clearly got promise, he's had a few good games and got into some promising positions but he's just not clicking. This is what you get when you buy cheap foreign youth with potential, you're rolling the dice on league position. I think he'll come good, he's still young and has a lot to learn, it doesn't help that he's in a team that is lacking in skill, leadership, confidence and moral though, that's never a good situation to go in to. We needed someone who could walk into the side and start scoring, not potential future prospects that could make us some money down the line.

Colo, Mbemba and? Dummett

We played alright in the second half, so he has a point. What does "we'll be fine" even mean? Our stated target before the season was top 8. Has it been changed to PL survival already? Didn't he say the other day that 8th had admittedly been an overambitious target (in a league with Leicester, Palace and Watford in the top seven)? He did? I must have missed that. But as you point out, the PL is quite open, especially this year. Had we had our affairs in order we could have easily been in the running for European football. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/dec/25/newcastle-united-steve-mcclaren-top-eight-premier-league-target-relegation Even the URL says we're targeting relegation

We played alright in the second half, so he has a point. Still one shot on target at home. You obviously are happy being served shit and chips every match. Well of course not like, we were shit in the first half, but in the second half we look good and were the better team. Let me ask you this. What have you seen of McClaren to suggest he's the right man for the job? Because frankly i'm struggling to see any positives. I hated this argument with Pardew because he was a shite excuse for a human being and a shite excuse for a manager, but who would realistically "coach" a team for the fuckwitts in charge here and who would our bunch of windowlickers have actually heard of to interview for the position? No I don't think he's good enough but I also don't think we'd have the brains or capitol to bring in the right man for the job. The best we can hope for is McClaren realises how fucked he is and quits and we stumble on a decent manager.

They tried but the quality is lacking. We don't have anyone who can pick a pass out or who can finish consistently. Other teams will strengthen and if we don't get it right and spend some serious money we'll get relegated. It's a joke we're not looking at the defence in January, but if we get someone of quality in the midfield we'll get through. However I'm worried they seem to be concentrating on a winger and a striker. I mean obviously we need a natural goal scorer, I would definitely take Austin right now, proven to score goals on the PL and we definitely need more width on the left but that shouldn't be job done though I reckon they'll feel it is.
-
Should have done better for the goal but wouldn't have been such a glaring mistake had the defence done their job right. Got some good stops in, got down quick for that outstretched arm to his right.

As in clear daylight, calm yourself.

I didn't think we played that bad from what I saw, I felt we were more dangerous going forward and dealt with them quite well at the back. Everton couldn't have complained at a draw and I felt we could have nicked it with our direct play, we got up the pitch quick at times but again looked clueless in the final third. The Everton goal was a shambles for so many reasons, felt like the players had thought they'd done all they needed to and the game was over, they didn't play to the final whistle and we rightly got punished. The worrying thing is we keep having bright sparks and making stupid errors, there's always something to improve on and always something to take heart in, but it can't keep going on like that, we really need to get it together NOW before we get dragged down. It's going to be a long hard season at this rate and we're definitely going to be "in the mix" come May. On a side note the commentary on BT was horrifically sickening, so much Everton love by Owen, you'd think we were playing Barcelona with all 11 players on the goal line. He favoured all the contentious calls to Everton too, I had to turn the sound down.

Missed the first half due to work but I thought, based on that second half we deserved at least a point. Mitrovic should have buried that header though, based on the second half alone they didn't deserve that and it was a cruel blow. Coloccini turned off at the end there, unacceptable.

I'm in the North West and tbh I don't hear a lot of negatives about us, sure people enjoy a laugh at others expense (ours), but mostly they're sympathetic to our decline and rot under Ashley.
-
Manchester United allegedly STILL the most hated team in the PL. Not sure how, they're pretty insignificant these days, can think of much more deplorable teams. http://m.sportskeeda.com/football/manchester-united-top-premier-league-list-most-hated-club?key1=fbp

Pardew has 4700 heart attacks as everyone's wishes come true at the same time. Whilst Ashley chokes on 4700 turkey bones, job done!

Merry Christmas you bunch of toolbags, hope you're all having a good day and enjoying the festivities.

I can see the issues in our style of play, but he had options yet he played the same team that beat in-form Liverpool and Spurs sides against a deflated bottom-of-the-league Villa. It doesn't make sense however you put it. That game took the sting out of our momentum and put the rattlers back in us dragging us back down. So limited, can only hope that the right purchases are made in January and we can change it up a bit with confidence. We really need to blow the budget on a commanding, vocal, midfielder who can grab a game by the balls.
