  1. The best scenario us when playing Stoke, Bournemouth or anyone else at this end of the league we only need to go for one DM, whether that be Anita OR Tiote is the only choice here. Although I'm adverse to splitting up that front 4 it might be worth considering moving Wijnaldum back and dropping De Jong or Thauvin in his place further up field.

  3. I'd say that's a pretty accurate piece tbf.
  4. I'm guessing the fines are going to get more frequent now they've got no income from bribes.
  5. POTY Contender right there.

In an ideal world Kanji, yes mate 100% wholeheartedly agree with you, set fire to the fucker and start again. But this is Ashley's world and a change in management won't bring about change in the way the club is run, it'll be a like for like swap. When calling for Pardew's head I saw a lot of people giving it the "no point, nothing will change" and "it'll just be some other knacker, who's probably worse.". We all knew that would be the case but with that slimy prick in charge I really didn't like anything about the club anymore bar some of the fans, mostly on here tbf. Now at least there is some connection back with the club, it's far away from being ideal but it's also far away from Pardew. So whilst I agree in theory, give me this over another Pardew any day, and no things probably wouldn't change if we binned him off and Charney and Co because we all know who the real problem is and he won't try it differently. Fwiw if we're cut adrift by Christmas I reckon McClaren will walk anyway, at least he knows when he's up against it.
  7. So I wake up to news of "Newcastle sweat on injury to key man" only to find out Colback could be out for weeks. Are we sweating from rolling around laughing so much?
  8. Did he just get demoted from Alan to Aleksandar because of that miss on Sunday?
  9. Should have got rid when he was worth £20m oh the hindsight!

    Steve McClaren

We've all known what to expect with Ashley and Penfold for a while now, getting rid of Pardew was never going to be the answer but needed to be done for the sanity of the supporters and the health of the club. We always knew it would be an uninspiring replacement but so long as it wasn't Pardew. If we get rid of McClaren it'll be another uninspiring appointment, if we're in serious trouble of relegation then it'll need to be done but pushing him out in hope of something better is futile. The difference this time is that we don't have a defensively turgid, slimy prick in charge and that alone warrants time to turn it round.

There's no one who knows if he did it on purpose or not, but even if he didn't it's not exactly tactful. If it were me I'd be out there apologising if ut was taken the wrong way and I meant nothing by it and I would be berating the fans that are using it to taunt. I'm sure there are some of our fans that have sung about the Munich air disaster, but there's dick heads in every group of fans, that doesn't make it acceptable.

I'm not in the McClaren out boat, don't think it would be wise at this juncture, the kind of manager we want will (a) never come here under the current regime and (b) wouldn't even be approached by the current regime. That's not to say I'm happy with the appointment or that I think we can go far with him in charge but he's a damn sight more refreshing than the last few managers. If anyone could have the choice this time last year, more Pardew or McClaren there would only have been one choice. He's making the changes we want and need but will he be able to turn it round quick enough? I'm not sure, but if we do go down it'll only be what Ashley deserves.

Tshirts are out and the kickstarter fund has been started for the airplane for the stoke game, pewer class.
  14. When we play them at home, with a less bent ref. Ah sorry, I thought you meant our overall rot. Was thinking that would be a bit late I think we'll bounce back from this quite quick, we'll have a point to prove and games against Stoke, Bournemouth, Leicester and then Palace should put some daylight between us and the unclean. Yes we lost ANOTHER derby but the other 36 games a year are just as important, though they may disagree being NETD and all that.
  15. It's easy to get angry at the club for today's result and you wouldn't be wrong based on the last 5 derbies but I have no doubt in my mind that the ref ruined this game for us this time and had it continued 11 v 11 and 0 - 0 at half time we would have grown in confidence in the game and come away with at least a draw. We were punished for everything, whereas they came out of the game without a single card, unbelievable just doesn't cover it. Putting aside the penalty shout, Cattermole shouldn't have been on the pitch for his thuggery today never mind coming out of the match unscathed. How many times did he take the man, take his eye off the ball, even had a flying knee in there, a handball and grabbed someone around the neck, not even a yellow?? The ref was rediculous today and we've been done. Everyone at the club can be felt hard done by and come March I have a feeling the rot will stop.
  16. I think it's fair to say that if Colo had been replaced by a semi-decent defender then this situation wouldn't have arisen as Fletcher would have been outrun and we'll covered. However that doesn't detract from the fact he was treated harshly by the referee for a shoulder to shoulder challenge.
  17. The other defeats have been bad, but this one was decided by that card. We were miles better before that apart from some poor shooting. Bet no other team who loses a man against them this season ends up losing by 3 goals. Sunderland won't be playing against us when this happens that's why, they are absolute dog shit but always less so against us, they only play 2 games a season, fortunately for them it's allowed them to stay in the league for the last 2 seasons. Their fans/players et al wouldn't be as up for it against any other team.
  18. Gini's effort in this second half has been disgraceful Looked our best player to me. Only seen the second half but he's barely tried to me. Never looks for the ball even when he is the only option which leaves his teammates in the lurch WAT? He looked like the only one that was even trying. Gini looked to me like the only one that was trying to be fair, created himself a few chances. Didn't think Sissoko played THAT bad either tbh. But I can still see a lot of our players ball watching when we have possession, no one looking for space or making runs, it makes our build up play so slow and predictable. Until we get some movement around the player with the ball we're going to struggle.
  19. The game stopped being a contest when the ref showed his true colours. Absolutely livid at his "performance" today. Extremely bad decision on the penalty and red gave us a mouthing to climb, letting Clatter have his choice of weapon without reaching for a single card did us over. Consequently, when you're up against it like that, it's hard to keep moral, not that I'm defending the heads dropping, I can just empathise. Better side by far today, just didn't take the chances we got.
  20. There we go, normality is resumed, should have gone to work today.
