  1. Ok so all those who agreed on benching Ben Arfa, would you care to explain yourselves?
  2. Who's this Cabaye everyone's been talking about? I'm pretty sure Ben Arfa is our best player ATM
  3. The biggest problem I have with his departure is the fact we won't sign anyone or "have the time to get them over the line" just like we saw with the Carroll transfer. We've still never really replaced him now, like for like.
  4. I guess our only hope now is an impasse on transfer value?
  5. "Away the lads" did I actually just read that shit?
  6. If Cabaye goes before the Sunlun game I'm not very confident of a result, not just from losing our current best and on form player but because of the knock on effect it'll have on the team. Keep him and we've got enough quality to break this stupid hoodoo shite.
  7. I wonder if he ever listens back to his sound bites and thinks to himself "Fuck me, I'm a bullshitting bastard! How do I get away with it?" Or if he's that self-ignorant that he believes his own lies? Strikes me as being a full on narcissistic prick.

Aren't away goals triple on a Tuesday?

I actually feel thicker having read that!
  10. What is the point in finishing 8th? What are we aiming for? I want a goal for the club that doesn't revolve around just existing in the Premier League. Are we trying to get European competition and push on from there? If there was a goal beyond this season, I'd be more than happy finishing 8th, but there isn't. Finishing 8th is what we're striving to do. Do well without daring to get ourselves involved in European competition. Yay. So exciting. Not sure why this is happening in this thread like. It's quite ironic because 8th is actually a pretty good finish by the standards of our past decade. Like you said it's just that there isn't any obvious aspiration beyond that. Sports clubs survive by getting their supporters hooked on hope and there's not a whole lot of hope being sold to us at the moment. Nail on the head, what is a team without aspirations or direction? A soulless shell of meaninglessness! We watch football to find excitement in the monotony of life, for inspiration and entertainment. Once you start taking that hope, aspiration and direction away and settle for existence, you take all that away and that escapism is lost with it.
  11. 8-0 is there any point in playing on
  12. I can't even bring myself to click the shortcut for Newsnow these days, seems like a fruitless waste of energy. To hope for anything this transfer window is just self flagellation.
  13. Nvm just heard it on the radio, hadn't read the other posts
  14. Not EPL but Ince has just been sacked here in Blackpool after 9 losses in 10!
  15. Well it seems Sunday is letting out time at the crayon eating factory. How anyone can defend this fraud is a mystery to me. I've given him his plaudits when he's done well and his criticism when it's due, but games like yesterday really fuck me off. He's the only guy that can take the shine off winning a game. We were dominating in the first half and for that he deserves credit, but fuck me that second half was an abortion, the antithesis of football. WHam were there for the taking and what did we do? Conceed a scruffy goal and shit our knickers. If he'd have come out in the second half and shown some intent, known that we just needed to turn the screw and they'd collapse like a pack of cards no one would have had a bad word to say. But no his arse went 5p - binlid in seconds an we were cowering behind a parked bus. Our best asset on the pitch, Anita gets subbed for Shola "make it stick" fkin Ameobi and HBA gets to keep the bench warm for another 80 minutes. I'm just sick to death of the negativity he's distilled in the team and his twitchy arse when we nick a lead, it's not getting better it's just the same old tactic is working a little better. When it stops working, we'll keep doing it. I just want to see what a confidence manager could do with this lot, that was always Keegans strong point, he knew how to get players playing with their tails up, that's the argument here and one I totally agree with.
  16. Disgusting tackle, fucking dirty that!
  17. Sorry if Giggs, we can but dream... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/next-west-ham-manager-alan-3036835
  18. No wonder we keep losing if our cm is always pished up ffs!
  19. The reason we was beat was cuz we've not got enough 6'3ers
  20. Brett's got an ip changing app obviously
  21. I'm no accountant but isn't amortization basically a way to put the cost of buying a player over a period of time on the accounts, ie have £4m loss per season on a player over 5 years compared to £20m all at once? So basically it is based on market value but the market value you bought him for I think so, yep. Obviously it's slightly less accurate in the case of players as they don't always depreciate and can actually be 'worth' more than their book value. The opposite is also true of course, which is why a purchase price based system is probably the best option available. See Albert Luque
