There's just one tiny flaw in that cunning plan Baldrick... if you mean that Kinnear's still knocking about, then in all fairness, I think the club should act and try to reach some form of mutual agreement with him and paying out his contract until the end of the season. His health comes first. On top of that I think his doctor will probably advise him to pack in. I mean Shearer's already let it be known he would never work under the current set up. I don't think Ashley took kindly to Shearer's public opinions either so it's a non-starter. his arm could be twisted if he was prepared to negotiate. He was going to retire until the pillock Souness had a word.

IMO, its time for the job to be offered to Shearer until the end of the season. He can come in, if he steers us away from trouble, the club can ask him (or he can ask the club!) about becoming a permanent manager. If he's cack, and god forbid we go down, he can walk back to MOTD, with his reputation not really harmed due to only being in charge for a handful of games. Has to be a better option than Hughton IMO.

5 I do believe. Capello has promised club managers that he'll be making several half-time subs. think they just said 6.

Eurgh, just seen the England game doesn't kick off until 9. Wonder what odds Ladbrokes will give me on myself and about half the population being asleep by the time the 2nd half starts...

depends to what extent you believe the Aguirre story.

Think we should just say thank you and goodbye now, personally. Its not fair on us if he suffers further illness throwing the squad into further dissarray, but more importantly its not fair on his family and himself for us to expect him to return, where he could do further (and possibly more serious) damage to his health. I'd like to think he'd know where we're coming from, and won't have any complaints.

Harper for England? ... in the future maybe

Rob Green's been overlooked for plenty of squads. Doubt Harps would jump ahead of him. -

Natalie Sawyer: "It's good news for Newcastle United fans...." you might be fit, but thats no excuse to make silly statements. -
Steve Bruce would be our best bet without a shadow of a doubt. If he manages to hold onto Valencia, I can't see him jumping ship though.

Same here, kind of, by that I mean have a look at my finances, and will probably get a ST again. Its been 2 years and I fucking miss it. I can't see the club charging £580 (what I paid for the 06/07 season, the last time I had one) if we're in the fizzy pop league. No-one will take them. And trying to squeeze a positive out of it, you get more games for your money down there!

Craigs back - "working hard behind us in the office" Camera zooms in on Chris Hughton at the window. Mike Ashley is taking a hands-on role, arrived very early this morning (shown pictures) Press officer from Newcastle airport - internal flights aren't happening at the minute. You can get private flights in though.
-
by the way, who are these 2 Arsenal fans they interviewed this morning??? Where the fuck were they? Outside Arshavin's hotel? How were they the only 2 there?
-
SSN sources: Keane having a medical with spuds this afternoon.

David Craig mentioned the name of Gary Oliver. He's the biggest knobhead of a press officer ever known. When Bassong was interviewed last week he kept coughing over half the questions as he wasn't happy with them, even though they were completely innocent. Will probably soon crack down on Craig speculating later.
