  1. hilarious that you are all wrong!! total signings: sibirski, duff, martins, bernard!! quality!! (sarcastic apart from martins) well done glenn!
  2. good for stu!! true, he was shite at man city, but hes a good bloke, and did well in the U21 championships! best of luck i say! (got 2b better than that tosser mc clarren ne way!)
  3. john motson: "heres joe cole, he passes to his namesake- lampard" WHAT???

    Smoggies

sunderland were sponsored by reg vardy. can someone tell me who the hell are reg vardy??!
  5. even if we dont sign any more players, i still think we have a better squad than last season- and will still finish higher. with the rest of the transfer window still to go and the fact we hve signed 4 players lready, whats the problem?
  6. He said: "Albert is lucky to be a footballer, but because so much money has been spent on him and that no one wants him i've decided i'll give him a shot as no one else will. Its tough being a football manager, but people expect miracles, and turning Albert Luque into a playable footballer, well, its a good job my best friend is David Blaine" you are joking? he wouldnt actually say that surely?
  7. oba's pace and spring, is immense!! think about how good he was when he was on form!! and with a decent manager, and a years prem experience, and some decent team mates, he will rule!! hes great to watch and is pure class!!
  8. why the HELL would either riise or heinze leave champions league clubs to come to us? if they were going to leave they would leave for a cl club!
  9. to those 2 ppl having an argument about whether or not we will finish top4, i say no. sorry to say people, but i just dont think that anyone except spurs will crack the top 4 this season. last season, there was about 15 points between spurs and arsenal, and we cant really go from 13th to 4th in one season!! tbh, this season id take anything above 8th, although id like to think we can come 6th if we try!! id take gradual improvement over 1 good season followed by mid-table anyday. look what happened to villa last season- was it 16th in 05/06 and then 10th in 06/07? something like that. so if we move up 6 places, we come 7th.
  10. i agree in principle- a good defence would mean that we have a greater chance of success. i mean look at chelsea- they score 1 goal and defend for 85 minutes and they were only 6 points off the title. either that or they get a fluke goal out of nowhere i the 92nd minute!!! my point is chelsea play shit football, and still came 2nd- imagine what we could do with a decent defence and decent attackingness.
  11. balls. oh well, if any of you people suddenly decide you dont want to go and see newcastle in the fa cup final, can i please have your ticket!!!??
  12. do you think i could get a ticket to a cup final if we got into it? bear in mind, im from the south of england and not a season ticket holder
  13. well i do think roeder has a bit of a point- i mean hes obviously bitter but right in sayingthat we shd be in top 6, and that sam shouldnt have 5 years. however, he cant talk cos he was shite, and at least sam has actually made some signings and as a bonus- they are good!!! i think realistic aims for the future: next season: comfortable top 10 with strong football in fa/league cups. europe a bonus 08/09: preserving our place in the top 10/ Europe and automaticaly qualifying for uefa cup. 6th? 09/10: again, keeping our 6th place position, going for 5th. 10/11: we need to be in the position spurs are in now- ready for a champions league fight. 11/12: champions league anyone hu thinks we r gonna finish 5th or above next season has a screw loose imo.
  14. bridge and baines both very good, as long as we dont have babayro i will be over the moon!
  15. if shepherd had beeen in charge and spent £300m, i think it could have all gone badly wrong!!! Im glad asgley has taken over because at least it means it will be profitable now, rther than a joke. shepherd just watned us to have a big stadium so we can look as good as arsenal!! at least with ashley, i have confidence in things
  16. man u first, tottenham 4th, newcastle 6th, relegated: wigan (shit manager), derby (shit generally), birmingham. bolton and fulham to narrowly survive, pompey and reading to sink, sunderland to do a reading (as much as it pains me to say) or come last- lets see how keane does, boro 16th
  17. YOU ARE ALL MAD!!! I would be devastated if Martins left!!! I think buying him was the only good thing Roeder did for us. Think about it, we would have been relegated without his goals, and he is only 22 and can improve so much!!! Roeder was a crap manager, and Martins had noone decent to actually play up front with, and he had no service from our midfield- yet he still scored 17 goals in his first season in the premiership!!!! yes he finished badly, but think about the game against spurs at white hart lane, where he won it for us (ok fine with given). He scores amazing goals, is really fast, is entertaining to watch when he is doing well, and can jump to about twice his height!! AND HE DOES BACKFLIPS!!! you are all to quick to criticise him for the end of the season, but it wasnt just him doing badly, everyone was!!! Think about when we were doing well!! surely we will see more of the best next season? AND MAINLY, HE WILL IMPROVE!!! DECENT MANAGER, DECENT PARTNERSHIP, DECENT MIDFIELD, EXPERIENCE, MORE CONFIDENCE!!!! considering he scored 17 goals without scoring hardly any at the start or end, we have a bloody good striker!! Martins is still improving, Owen has past his best! I would rather sell Owen for £9million than Martins for £20 million!!!
  18. At present we have Nicky Butt, a 32 year old there. Of course we need defenders but we can't just stop looking at other areas because of this! exactly. people who keep going on about us signing absolutely nobody until we have defenders need to stop being so f****** retarded. True. Would be no good if we have the opportunity to get someone like Diarra in now, but waited until August or whenever after we'd signed 3 more defenders, when all the good players have already been snapped up and we're looking at Plan D & E. personally i dont care when we get them in as long as we have a squad by august 11!
  19. considering taylor is 21 and that is kinda an excuse to make mistakes anyway, but who has he had teaching him his trade over the last few years? why, glenn roeder and graeme souness!! and who has he had to influence him? why titus bramble, craig moore, babayaro and carr!!! I think maybe, just maybe that under a decent manager (allardyce) and another experienced, decent centreback (like sol cambell on a free which we turned down last year!!!!) then taylor will be in the full england squad in no time at all. He can be far better than ledley king under the right influence, I think he could be england captain if he really goes for it, although that is a long time away.
  20. haha reading this is hilarrious
  21. the away kit looks better than last season but i still wont be buying it. what the hell are they making given wear?!! as you can see he is less than happy. cant blame him. whoever is desgining our kits at the moment deserves to be shot!!

    Luke Young

luke young for 2 million yes, use him as cover for nobby. get in baines as well as rozenhal and that sorts us for next seaspn to get into uefa cup, i hope. then we need to think bigger, unless they really suprise me- keep taylor though and anyone else who excels.
  23. 17 milion? madness. very good player but surely thats pushing it a bit. i think its just because all these bonus payments from sky and billionare owners, all its doing is making footballers wages go even higher, transfers higher still and isolating the big 4 from the rest and the prem clubs from the championship. that would be why people seem to be paying barton 70000 a week, and parker supposedly 80000, ballack and shevchenko 130000 and god knows what else
  24. looks quite good so far, looks like our uefa cup kit from last season. looks better than our previous away kit which not even bramble would be fit to wear!!! it was a crime against clothing!!!
