  1. I liked Emre when he played for us, thought he was quality
  2. Tbh with Veiga, Guler and Szo or Maddison for 100m it’s our CM and RW depth options fully sorted for the next few years even. Their youth will complement the experience we have and make it very competitive. Then getting Lodi on loan to buy and a cheap ish RCB and back up CF can complete the window, for around 50m all in. jobs a good un
  3. Ok I’ve decided what I really want. If 70m was the budget for Szobolai or 50m for Maddison I’d rather get Maddison for 50m PLUS Arda Guler for 20m. Szobolai is good and all that but that’s a way better deal and gives us more ‘door openers’ for the same budget
  4. I’d rather stay with Castore until we’re a bona fide big deal and then get bespoke kits like the big boys Adidas when Keegan was around were desperate to win the deal and remember they did some new stuff that hadn’t been done before with kits which changed the game etc. This was a good article harking back to that time https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-adidas-grandad-kit-18586343.amp
  5. Maddison last summer was the peak of what we thought was possible, now it’s the bare minimum if that ain’t progress I don’t know what is
  6. Interestingly out of all of his permanent signings Fabian Schar - HIT Martin Dubravka - HIT Florian Lejeune - HIT Matt Ritchie - HIT Isaac Hayden - HIT Dwight Gayle - HIT Miguel Almiron - HIT Ciaran Clark - DECENT Mohammed Diame - DECENT DeAndre Yedlin - DECENT Federico Fernandez - HIT Mikel Merino - HIT Daryl Murphy - DECENT Christian Atsu - DECENT Joselu - DECENT Ki Sung-yeung - DECENT Javier Manquillo - HIT Grant Hanley - FLOP Jesus Gamez - FLOP Matz Sels - FLOP Achraf Lazaar - FLOP Yoshinori Muto - FLOP Jacob Murphy - HIT That's around 80% of his signings that were decent or a hit. Only 5 outright flops that haven't shown anything since Very good hit rate - not many are on that level especially when buying at that lower level
  7. At that price you could get him plus szo for £100m and between them two and Almiron and Murphy wingers fully sorted with Kuol Minteh to come in, with ASM, Gordon, Anderson, Joelinton and Isak on the other side. Decent
  8. Been linked with Villa actually wouldn’t mind him as think Howe can definitely get him back to his best and there’s a lot of quality there
  9. The last thing they need is a number 10 man How did Arsenal get their mojo back so quickly, imagine a year ago thinking that Rice would be choosing them as his next step up?
  10. A weird one but could Mbappe be THE poster boy for Saudi-backed NUFC back in the Champions League? As a one off megastar and the face of the new revolution? I know he may be too big right now etc but as a vanity project I can see this one move, being sanctioned especially as a one-off? And then the extra commercial/marketing opportunities, PL visibility on the marketing spin, Haaland vs Mbappe etc all goes through the roof and it puts NUFC finally on the map as a title-chasing outfit
  11. One guy I was hoping for was the LB Guerriero from Dortmund, he had a Trippier-esque season and was also in the European team of the season alongside Trippier Would have been cool to have two top class fullbacks for the total sum of £12m! But he's signed for Bayern now
  12. Crazy salaries never worked in China, USA, Russia or anywhere else. I don’t know what the objective is, it’ll never achieves the original aims, then they scrap it a few years later. Rinse and repeat.
  13. What size did you get sent if you haven’t sent it back yet perhaps it’d be easier / quicker to sell it here if its xl let me know
  14. If we got this dream window Pope Dub Karius Trippier Ashby Manqillo (sell Krafth as Manq can play both sides) Min-Jae / other RCB Schar Lascelles Botman Burn Dummett Tierney Targett (sell Lewis) Joelinton Longstaff Bruno Anderson Willock Veiga Szobalai Guler Almiron Kuol Isak Wilson Roque ASM Gordon Minteh Now that's an awesome young, hungry, pressing team, all interchangeable and can cover the two first XI's that Howe mentioned
  15. The problem will be Maddison, Guler and Szobolai are all similar players so can see 2 but not 3. Veiga is a Willock type I believe.
  16. NUFC need to sign: In priority order Tierney - 33M Veiga - 35M Guler - 15M Szobalai - 60M Min-Jae - 51M Around 200M and it really sorts out the team fully for next year. Possibly 1 striker short, get a young Brazilian as cover. Whatever happened to the Vitor Roque rumours? He would be amazing also - 25-30M? A young South American DM (who was that Argentinian Man City beat us to) - with a view to finding the next Caicedo would be good. I could live without the CB, as there's probably others cheaper who could do a decent job. We could save 20M going with Maddison over Szobalai - don't mind either. The others are musts for our team in my opinion in terms of what we're looking for.
  17. Kane has just turned 30 and is only 47 goals behind. He could go to Madrid for two years and still have plenty of time to break the record. Shearer was still scoring at 35 despite all the injuries. Kane could go on longer.
  18. I forgot about Owen in terms of superstars signed but i genuinely was never that bothered about him as by that point Souness was in place
  19. I was slightly too young when we signed Shearer. Didn’t know what was going on. The signing that got me most excited and in dreamland was Kluivert, until Isak to a slightly lesser extent last year. Even Ben Arfa who I was a huge fan of, came in on loan only and in a pretty uninspiring team. But Kluivert came into a good team and so did Isak so I thought it was a sign of going to the next level. I wonder if we get a marquee of that ilk. Even if we buy Dominik or Maddison it’s not a world renowned superstar. I’m not saying I want those kind of names as I’d rather get Botman Bruno types that fit the build we’re doing here. But one name that we should have no way of getting would be amazing
  20. It was interesting on Tifo Podcast they were comparing NUFC to early-Klopp Liverpool which they said peaked in 19/20. Saying that the first signings made by Klopp: Wijnaldum = Bruno Mane = Isak Van Dijk = Botman Alisson = Pope And then comparing the team set-up too Oxlade-Chamberlain = Gordon (as fluid no. 8) Lallana = Willock Keita = Joelinton Henderson = Longstaff Trent = Trippier (i.e. ball playing RB) Which then led them to speculate new signings if following this model Robertson = Tierney (or speedy LB to come in, who pushes on) Salah = new elite RW to come in Fabinho = new CM/DM to come in Matip = Schar replacement perhaps Interesting way of looking at it. 97 point season, here we come

Unlike his playing days then you mean
  22. I know forest are probably sick to death of NUFC cast offs by now but Lascelles genuinely is one that would make sense and be a good move, leadership material, CB was a struggle for them last season and he could really help them re establish and consolidate as a PL club while chipping in with a few goals too
  23. An equivalent shock to Isak relative to where we are now would the upper echelon of player who is still young, for example a Musiala, Bellingham or Pedri/Gavi. I would have put Felix in this category but think he’s gettable now.
