Imagine if Isak becomes an Henry type in terms of how he adapts to the PL, it would be our Aguero. Bruno is Silva. Botman is Kompany. Pope is Hart. Trippier is Zabaleta. Now we just need our Toure to have the foundations in place for a period of success.

I think Paqueta will turn them down he's waiting to see if one of the big boys come in. He was disappointed with Lyon finishing 8th last season apparently so he wants to play at a higher level. West Ham I can't see them going past their ceiling of the past few years. Might be last season they play in Europe for a while. I can see Spurs or Liverpool coming in, maybe even Man City. I do hold out hope that we'll come in last minute though. Honest question - if the choice was only two teams, would he choose us over West Ham, given the two teams' recent past vs potential?

Lascelles is least of our worries. I was more shocked Dummett is still around and he started ahead of Fernandez. Lascelles is as good a 4th choice as you can get at PL level. Plus his mentality is great for the group, he deserves to be part of a winning group. What has happened to Fede - can't even remember the last time he played now?

Paqueta (40), Isak (60) and Pedro (30) - 130M + 60M spent on Botman, Pope and Targett Nottingham Forest eat your heart out I do think those three signings literally would sort out the entire team this season - even the RW - as Isak and Pedro can both play there. Paqueta is a must though, we simply have to get someone in CM as one injury to either Joelinton or Bruno and we'd be too light.

You could add Cabaye to that list too. For me, Trippier Solano Robert Shearer Cabaye Emre Taylor from the players I've seen and remember (I don't remember Albert taking FK's) Top 4 are solid though - Shearer is arguably unlucky to be 4th, he had his fair share of powerblasters and even curlers in his early time. Just the other three are more specialist.

The only concern I have with Howe is much like Keegan he’s all in. He’s living and breathing work, intensely as possible. He even said he doesn’t have a social life right now and he’s happy to sacrifice it. Right now that’s great especially as he had a long break. But it may lead to burnout in 4-5 years, perhaps less.

Man U are struggling with poor motivation poor management bad structure, overpaid players etc. but their squad should be a shoo-in for top 6 even top 4. The squads aren’t comparable in that sense.

I see Gerrard more like a Souness rather than a Bruce. Top top quality midfielder of his time, ex Liverpool captain, won lots etc and got a good eye for a player. His name is attractive enough to get good players. Just got no idea how to manage. Souness actually built and managed some good teams in terms of quality of player, he was just useless and had one setting - angry. Gerrard seems the same.
