Tbh no one is a better story teller than KK, you can’t help but be captivated when he speaks, even if you’ve heard the story ten times before
  2. Instead of Murphy can’t we get Lewis on as LW and Anderson as RW? Lewis can’t be as bad surely as Murphy

Did anyone go that can summarise what he said?

When you think Dominic Calvert Lewin and Ivan Toney were both quoted as £50m - paying just £8m more to get someone with Isak's potential and pedigree is an absolute no brainer. Just goes to show the value to be had abroad. I'm glad the board have a clear stance not to be seen to be overpaying that English premium. Ditto with Gordon vs someone like Diaby. Think about how much Bruno cost vs how much someone like Rice would cost.

He is grounded as anything, no emotion at all. All of the interview questions were aimed at getting hyperbole-type statements out of him, I want to score x many goals, I want to perform well for the fans, and be a legend here, I want to have the impact of Haaland etc but he was very Howe-esque in that he was cool, almost nonchalant and no, I dont want to add pressure, I'll just do what I'm going to do etc.
  6. You just know when he signs the headline will be Angel of the North
  7. I’d rather be this hated than universally liked like the most important English manager of the last 100 years Mr Bruce
  8. Between him and Pedro, Joe and Bruno it’s gonna be Brazilliant! Interested to see how Lodi gets on at Forest as he’s a long term target, and in a year he’ll have PL experience too
  9. Hatem would make the transfer window a 10/10 for me haha Not a bad sub option off the bench, surely? Come home sweet prince
  10. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/vertragslosespieler Free agents - worth trying for 1 year contracts to fill gaps in squad: CB - Jason Denayer CB - Dan Axel-Zagadou RB - Dijibril Sidibe RB - Santiago Arias AM - Ross Barkley RW - Hatem Ben Arfa (!!!) CM - Mehdi Abied CM - Alan Dzagoev CM - Fabian Delph
  11. I do believe they thought Pulisic/Gallagher was possible (especially since Zakaria) but this suggests Chelsea didn't want to strengthen a competitor. I acutally think it was the Bruno transfer that made people take notice, that Sky Sports lady on Twitter said as much, both Liverpool and Man City were shocked by it. Isak is another one who most would think would be above our station so confirms to them that we're building something serious and will be a force to reckon within 2 years. Imagine in 4 more transfer windows time, assuming each window will have 2-3 first team replacements: Imagine Isak/Bruno/Botman level quality in the below positions Schar would have been replaced Tripper would now be back up Targett would have been replaced Almiron replaced Willock replaced ASM possibly replaced Joelinton possible replaced Pope possibly replaced
  12. I can definitely see them going back for Pedro. He offers something different and brings the age down of the side again. Maddison I'm not so sure we would - depends on how Leicester do this season, I think we accelerated interest due to Shelvey's injury - but he would be back in January. It would be great as I rate him. Ashby is a good idea - Manquillo would be replaced. Diaby might happen if they are out of Europe by then. It's interesting, PIF/board seem very impressive, disciplined and controlled. Not going to blow their load, but every window a solid 80-100M on 2, 3 or 4 players. That is steady intelligent progress
  13. The four first teamers are all great additions. We definitely needed that CM and RW so I don't think we can give it a 9 or 10. They've gone for quality not quantity. A solid 8 is decent. A Joao Pedro would have made it a 8.5, Ashby a 9 and then a 10 would have been a CM like a Kone or Haidara etc. Not all gaps have been filled - perhaps the players they have in mind are currently unattainable - e.g Diaby et al but may become available in Jan.

Interesting... ok who's better as a trio? 1. Martins, Owen, Viduka 2. Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa 3. ASM, Wilson, Isak 4. Rondon, Perez, Almiron For me, it is 2, 3, 1, 4 Struggling to think of other trios - we've always played 2 up top in the KK and SBR eras

It’s a world of difference having someone elite to admire in the team instead of someone who puts in the effort and has some decent quality. No disrespect to the likes of Wilson, Shelvey etc who were all good for our previous level, Seeing the likes of Bruno and Isak come in has really upped the standards considerably to the point of raising everyone else’s game too, like Woodgate did with Bramble

    Joe Willock

He’s a good pair of legs to bring on, instead of Murphy. Tall and tangy on the counter. Should never be a starter in the type of team we’re trying to build.
  17. kingxlnc

    Jacob Murphy

Completely out of his depth. If Isak and Almiron stayed on we would have got a point, as there would have been enough threat on the counter

Imagine the through balls from Botman to Bruno and then from Bruno to Isak
  19. The thing is I don’t even rate the business done by Chelsea. They’ve done a Man U and vastly overspent on not world class players. cucurella - decent fofana - paying for potential Sterling - good signing Koulibaly - old and losing legs who else? Ridiculous money wasted ecen with losses on Werner, Lukaku etc one thing about their previous owner is that they were frustratingly well run, with a great academy and eye for smart signings on the up. Like Man City now. this reeks more like fantasy football and throwing money without a clear strategy. They will implode.

Also I like the age we are getting him at, he has done a huge lot of development elsewhere and now ready to come into him peak, similar to buying a Shearer from Southampton instead of when he’s at his peak from Blackburn.
  21. Definitely got the case of the Geremi, has lost his legs and seems top heavy
  22. BT didn’t even discuss the disallowed goal like it wasn’t even controversial. Shay Given genuinely looked gutted though
  23. Luiz would give us that all Brazilian midfield we were desperate for with Paqueta…
