  1. I'm from Nottingham. McGugan is actually very good, and highly rated here. Would be a good signing as one of the 'development' players Pardew talked about. Defo not as a replacement for the Zog! I would offer Forest any of Routledge, Raylor, Smith or Perch - or even their choice of any two! Would go up to £3m for this dude - very promising.
  2. Did well - best captain for Newcastle in the PL area bar Shearer and perhaps Lee. If West Ham hypothetically offered us a swap of Ba and 4.5M for Nolan (let's forget the fact Ba was free for a second) I think most would have taken that - particularly as Ba is a circa-7M player. That's the way I'm thinking of this one. Plus, most importantly there's no real difference of FIFA - both Nolan and Ba are 79...!
  3. Before even wearing the black & white shirt once? Before even speaking English? Geremi was captain before wearing the black and white? Okay, not the best example... but it has been done!
  4. Cabaye captained Lille to success after success - is he not a candidate?
  5. Call me mad, but by saying mega offer, ambitious move etc top club in Europe, could it be a huge name like Benzema? French connection? A delusion hunch perhaps.

    Nile Ranger

If Shearer had become manager he wanted Frazier Campbell to spearhead the attack if you remember rightly. Carroll would have only been second or third choice, after Ameobi I assume. I think this may be something to jolt him into action and into taking things more seriously. I'd like to see Ranger go on loan to Forest or something, a promotion challenger - being first choice under a good manager. Even Cardiff if Hughton takes over. This summer I feel is too soon to get rid - monitor how he copes with being put on transfer list etc and see how he develops somewhere else. If he's still a gangsta one year on - get rid. Its relatively low risk to keep him, especially if he's nowhere near the squad next season.
  7. Jose 'the Bull-dog' Enrique... sorry, it's rubbish

    Sebastian Larsson

Would only have liked him if we'd kept Carroll. If we do get Gamiero - I don't think he's the cross the ball into the box early kind of striker as Carroll was. There are much better first choice out there - I would've liked him for strength in depth purposes only, but he wouldn't have accepted that anyhow... Let's move on...

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I would make Coloccini captain tbh - Nolan still club captain but not first choice, similar to Smith in the Championship?

    Gervinho

Okay - how about Menez or Gervinho? Menez is still being linked, surely can't be all three of them?!

    Gervinho

Don't do that you'll jinx it! I did that with Ben Arfa last year when he was seemingly nailed on after being spotted... then it was delayed for absolutely ages, Hamburg etc being linked until I changed him back... then he signed! Phew. I initially thought that this must have been a coincidence, but I did the same thing mid-January with Seb Larsson (ok, I'm a saddo)... and he never signed! Ended up changing him back in Feb! The moral of the story - where NUFC are concerned - do NOT count your chickens before they hatch... there is no such thing as a done deal! None of these deals will go through. (Yeah, I'm laying that down, flipping and reversing it) I like your style, reverse psychology. Mind games with fate and all that. Just to add, we are NOT signing Messi...

  14. Gervinho up top on his own would be like Gyan at Sunderland, not an out and out striker. The Bellamy type - we need the Shearer. Would prefer him on the wing, or the right side of a 3. Would LOVE Sturridge as the more central type player. Berbatov would also be lovely in that role - the main man, all that speed and pace around him, for him to finish off. He is probably unlikely however.

    Joey Barton

I would be happy with a straight swap; Barton for Stephen Ireland. Anyone else?
  16. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/863990-daniel-sturridge-to-opt-for-newcastle-transfer-despite-spurs-interest?
  17. He says 'of course' a lot!
  18. Andreas Andersson - definitely. How was this guy a Swedish International... and how did he play for AC Milan?!! Daniel Cordone wasn't much better. Guiva'rch only played 4 games so not really much to go on - although obviously wasn't good.
  19. How about for last three games, 4-3-3 with Ireland on right, Ben Arfa on left and Ameobi up front? Or those two just behind him? Might as well go for it last few games...
  20. I still think a £15m bid for Daniel Sturridge, at 60k or so would be an excellent replacement - he does look pure quality at Bolton.
  21. Only heard about him recently, origianally employed by SBR. Would be the kind of forward thinking managerial appointment that i could definintely get behind, apparently linked with the Liverpool job! Never seen a more dominant league table than the portugese one - Porto sitting on top with 62 points out of 66 having conceded only 7 goals all season. Plays attacking football as well. The boy done good. He would turn up at Porto's training with detailed reports and videos when he was a teenager, which lead Robson to sign him up as a scout when he was 18. There's a decent BBC article from a few months back knocking about. Whoa this guy sounds amazing! Interesting to read his grandmother, who taught him his 'flawless' English, Margaret Kendall is actually from the North East! Links! I would love this guy to take the job here one day soon - a Mourinho in the making for sure...
