Willy Wonka? Tommy Wanker

As a backup option DCL would be decent I think. Whenever we play Everton he's always a handful and causes us problems, plus you'd think Howe would get more out of him and get better service to him than he was getting under Dyche. Not every signing can be a £30m+ player to go into the starting eleven, we need a squad of reliable players

This is actually a fantastic boost for the last few games, can see it giving players and fans a lift

Didn't expect to see a Jonah Lomu Rugby reference in here I have to say
-
He's far from bang average, he's an excellent player. The own goal last night was him trying to cover the mistake of the other centre back (Richards?) who left him completely exposed by trying to press Joelinton in midfield. Howe has turned Burn into one of the most consistent centre backs in the league, he'd do wonders with Guehi. If he's available for £30-40m due to his contract situation it's an absolute no brainer, he's a proven PL and international centre back with years left in him

Best finisher at the club tbh

Is Will Hughes not weak and slow?

Wharton on the bench for Palace

If only Brentford had a striker they valued at £70m+ to counteract it...
-
Could take a while for him to be back to full speed. Can be months depending on severity

Remember watching Italy under 21s when we signed Tonali and he was on all set pieces, and they were fucking class. Get him whipping the buggers in
-
Would be interesting to see how many touches of the ball he's had in his last 4 or 5 sub appearances. He comes on and disappears

Makes me think of Joey Barton. Not cool

Which podcast is this please? Would like to give it a listen

Cunha could easily start as the right winger, with licence to drift infield to create, with Livramento overlapping. It's essentially what we did with Miggy on the right as he would always cut inside and it created space for Trippier to overlap. The only difference really is that Cunha is 10 times better than Miggy. He hasn't played much there for Wolves but he seems the sort of player who has the attributes to play anywhere along the front line. A quick look at his highlights from this season shows him scoring and creating plenty from an inside right position

I wasn't aware there were 5 different attacking midfield positions and also 5 different forward positions, how the hell are they defined?!
-
Would be fantastic if he was an option off the bench for Sunday
-
One of his goals against Reading was a cracking strike: https://x.com/MagpieMediaX/status/1909530007422087539?s=19

So Villa are still going to breach PSR rules despite selling Diaby and Duran to Saudi Arabia for a combined £120m, and also doing a couple of dodgy Anderson/Vlachodimos style swaps last summer. PSR is an absolute joke, if it weren't for Howe and Emery being fantastic coaches we'd be nowhere near challenging the top 4/5, it's ridiculous

Strange game, I don't think we played very well at all in general but ended up being a really comfortable win because Leicester are bloody awful. We essentially coasted for 60 minutes though which hopefully will mean we're nice and fresh for Sunday

But getting a youth player around the squad and experience of a match day is more beneficial than Ruddy coming along for a laugh
-
I really don't get the point of 2 keepers on the bench. Just put a youth player on there for some experience
-
Would be pretty disappointed to sign Ramsdale, I've never rated him. Pope is much better at the whole keeping the ball out of the net aspect of goalkeeping
-
Yeah that's my one question mark over him, does he do the off the ball work well enough to fit into an Eddie Howe team? I haven't seen much of him apart from games against us, but he got caught a couple of times when he didn't track Tino last night
-
Didn't he almost exclusively play right wing for Everton? My only memories of seeing him play there were always on the right, so it's a bit weird that he seemingly doesn't like playing there any more. He's certainly played more often on the right in his career than Barnes has, and at the moment Barnes deserves to keep his place on the left
