  1. the Stoke v Man U game has all the hallmarks of a last gasp Man U winner....
  2. For years I lived in hope of an end to the overpaid mercenary signings who bled the club dry and offered little return on the investment made in them. I used to moan on to my pals about how I wanted a squad of young, talented, up for it players, who had pride in playing for their shirt, rather than coming here to sit on the gravy train. I wanted a prudent approach to how the club was run and a long term strategy that was built on solid foundations. My pals liked the Shepherd era and thought I was a boring twat. So in theory I should be happy with where we are now. But the problem is that since Ashley took over we've had lies, arrogance, more lies, broken promises, embarrassing headlines, relegation, more lies, stupid statements, shit plastered all over the ground, more lies, too many managers, jobs for the boys, more lies, more arrogance, short sighted transfer decisions, a refusal to communicate and ultimately the current regime views with fans with utter contempt. It's been a high price to pay and that's why Ashley is still a cunt.
  3. Why should Newcastle United and Sports Direct be associated? Because they are owned by the same person? Do all sports clubs owners associate the clubs they own with other organisations in their portfolio? The only thing that links NUFC and SD is Mike Ashley. Sports Direct isn't a local company, it has no historical ties to the club - why should we have to accept providing them with free advertising that stains our stadium? I wasn't trying to suggest that SD should be a side interest to Ashley, but why should the fans of this club be forced to support his brand? "to promote his side interest" So that's exactly what you were trying to suggest. That is the only reason for the association... Which is wrong. He is using NUFC to promote his own company, that is what I disagree with. The 2008 and 2009 accounts suggest NUFC paid SD £47,000 for the privilege of branding in SD! The concept that we are in fact 'supporting' SD is strengthened, when you consider the opportunity cost of not having a stadium sponsor that actually pays for advertising... It looks truly horrible and, personally, I see it as having degraded a great stadium. But as far as the money side is concerned it's part of the deal with having Ashley own us. Just reading this forum it's obvious that plenty of people want him gone. As ever it's up to the individual as how much good they think he has done and is doing. But if we were funded by externally borrowed money we would be paying huge chunks of interest. In fact I shudder to think what rate we would be paying. If there is anyone around who would lend £140 million (or even half that) to a technically insolvent business they would want a substantial margin for doing so. Ashley is a package deal - like it or not. Sums the situation up. People need to get away from the reasoning that they don't like Ashley and therefore anything that harms him or his business is good for the club. In practice, it can work the other way. If Sports Direct flourishes because of its association with the club, then that can encourage greater investment in the team to raise the club's profile in overseas markets still further. Of course that's less likely to happen if Ashley is bombarded by hostile messages about his involvement. The other point is - what's the alternative? The local businessman made good isn't going to be able to compete at the top end of the game. There aren't that many oil billionaires around and their room for manoevre is likely to be squeezed by Financial Fair Play. We've seen money spent at QPR and Liverpool by new owners recently but they've made it clear that it's a one-off and the clubs are going to have to balance the books. (Questionable whether these time-limited spending sprees work anyway, but that's another issue) This is the thing for me, all the other fly by nights who may want to get their grubby hands on our club for much more sinister reasons. An English based sports magnate should be an ideal type of owner to have. Less chance of him getting bored like an overseas owner and more chance of the "marriage" benefitting both companies over the longer term. Im also not as snobby about the Sports Direct brand as some. Is it any worse than Venkys chickens or Tombola! Imagine the east stand Newcastle Sign with a rooster either side of it! Hopefully a period of calm can unfold. Imagine the east stand Newcastle sign with a cock either side of it !
  4. isn't Aston Martin now owned by Ford and some Arabs ?
  5. ...is pretty much spot on, regardless of your opinion of the guy. Still amazed how this is missed by the mongs who chant "get out of our club" at every possible opportunity. Give over. He's alienated almost the entire fanbase since he's been here and yet we're not supposed to voice negative opinions about him and sing nasty songs because it makes him feel sad and not want to spend any money. I don't see what you expect to achieve by singing "get out of our club" - in the early post-Keegan atmopshere, it may have been able to help drive him out. By this point, it's just pointless. EDIT: and allows DL to come out with that kind of answer to justify why MA isn't putting anymore £££ into the club. It reminds him that he's not wanted here. It hurts his monumental ego. It's allowing people to express their anger about what he's doing to our club and stadium. He wouldn't put more £'s into the club if he was loved or hated. He has a cost cutting business strategy and he's sticking to it. If someone has you pinned down and is repeatedly f***ing you up the arse do you just lie there and accept your fate, or do you give them abuse, calling them a perverted arse bandit and hating them for smashing your back door in. Either way, you're going to get a very sore ringpiece so you might as well make life difficult for them whilst they do it. Exactly! I cant believe some people accept the cheek of that comment from Llambias. Ashley is ok to treat so many people (managers & fans) with such little respect in his time here, but cant take being call a fat b******? If hes not putting money in because of that reaction from the people he has, and continue's to shaft, then thats what you call a very irresposible owner! If he's putting more advertisement on the east stand then he deserves "abuse" chanting whatever you wanna call it, because thats as blatent two finger's from him as you can get. Like has been said, he obviously has a huge ego people should not shrug their shoulders and bow down to it, he must love thinking hes some dictator, the sad b******. Yes indeed. If you want to f*** someone up the arse you should buy them some nice presents, whisper some sweet nothings in their ear and then apply some lube before sliding yourself gently in there and pumping away. What will make an arse f***ing much more difficult is if you cover your partner in Sports Direct logo's, sell all their decent belongings, refuse to spend any money on presents, treat them like idiots and then try and slam one into their ringpiece bareback.

  7. As others have said this is exactly the sort of game we always lose. A win would see us up near the top of the table, we're on a decent run, the opposition have been earmarked to struggle this season, it's live on the telly. Whenever things look promising NUFC always conspire to f*** it up. We'll play very poorly and look like a side that doesn't know what it's doing. 1 nowt to QPR.

  9. Utterly predictable answers. So many of their responses throw up additional questions and counterarguments and it would be interesting to get their opinions in a traditional interview format. But instead they will only answer questions in writing and won't get into a debate. So then they can't be pressed on any areas where they will be exposed and we are only spoonfed what they want us to hear and aren't given the opportunity to put our views across. Wankers.
  10. Don't forget the Bender Crew....

That list of "potential" signings is missing a few obvious examples of where the club managed to f*** things up and lose their man. Neil Taylor and Darnel Situ immediately spring to mind. We tried to f*** Swansea over on Neil Taylor and naturally they were p*ssed off about it and made efforts to ensure they kept him. Situ opted for Swansea rather than us as our offer couldn't compete. Which is a concern given that he'd be on a relatively low wage.

Michael Jackson statue > beating them, bigger stadium, better players = Fact. http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/yy243/bobbydazzla/JackonStatue_415.jpg
  14. Just remembered the time I walked past him in Pets Corner down Jesmond Dene. He was pushing a pram.
  15. Why? We're seemingly bidding for quality players. Who cares if it's "panic buys". Bidding for players but not signing anyone = telling all your pals you've got some fit birds lined up to shag but then spending your nights sat at home wanking into a sock.
  16. It wasn't a good spot, I was in the long term car park and it flew really low into town from the south. It was hard to miss and went straight over the city centre, heading north'ish. Could you see if it turned right at Four Lane Ends and down Whitley Road towards Benton ?

  18. At 23.05 we'll see Ruiz moonwalking outside Craven Cottage wearing a white sequined glove and wanking off a chimpanzee. Shamone.
  19. Has anyone ever asked him why he has the mullet ? It's a dodgy barnet for a lad of his age.
  20. I also put this on the Bolek thread but I saw Rob Elliot in Jesmond this morning so it looks like his move is back on. I can barely contain my excrement.
  21. I've just seen Rob Elliot in Jesmond. Why would we be signing both Bolek and Elliott ? Can one of them play left back ?
