  1. no issues whatsoever, straight in the gallowgate end with no queue or owt. and the beer queues were bad but no worse than any other season. However, even though its not my beer of choice, the bottles of carling from the food stalls are bang on. much, much better than them shite little fosters bottles last season. and no queue to get them pre-match either.
  2. personally I think the doom and gloom merchants should fuck off. we're 2 games into a new regime and already the knives are being sharpened. a clown who sits behind me actually said he'd prefer Roeder back. I doubt he was in the same frame of mind at half time last week. its pathetic how fickle we are.... all this week I've been saying that whilst the Bolton game was amazing, it was also likely to be a bit of a weight round our necks as it ramped expectations up to unrealistic levels.
  3. pathetic thread. 4 points after 2 games. thats a decent enough return for me. new manager, many new squad members, lots of the deadwood shipped out, still missing key players through injury. the lads battled today, they looked much more organised than last season and all we lacked was a creative spark. and villa are a well drilled set of draw merchants who are very difficult to break down. to be a doom and gloom peddlar at this stage just plays up to the very reasons why the press and other fans take the piss out of our fan base. And the people who booed at the final whistle. for fucks sake ! you wonder why people won't sign for us.......
  4. TBH he's contributed so little to NUFC that I regularly forget that Owen is even on our books. I'd much rather he was sat on someone elses treatment table sucking up 120k a week in wages...
  5. he he, imagine Scott and Scooby banging out some house before the match. maybe we could get the stewards to hand out some ecto beans too, get everyone loved up and united as one before the match. it'd be like back in 1990 when all the casuals started raving and peace and love ruled the terraces....
  6. good riddance to the little rat. another scumbag heads for the hills. just need to find homes for Carr and Baba now.
  7. fucking irritating them digital ad boards. classic case of the marketing men being more imprtant than the football. it'll be logo's on the pitch next.... don't know how they don't distract the players cos they bug the shite out of me when I'm watching a match.
  8. I moved from the Leazes level 7 to the Gallowgate last season and still miss that blokes "doddddddddddddgy keeeeeeeeeeeeeeepah" shouts. I must have only heard him a couple of times last season.
  9. after a few years of refusing to pay for Sky Sports I've now bitten the bullet and signed up again. The money I have forked out should be off-set by the fact that I won't have to head to the pub and spend loads of beer money whenever there's a half decent match on. thats what I keep telling myself anyhow.
  10. feel sorry for them to be honest. a big club with a long and distinguished history that might well cease to exist cos of the mismanagement of the business by those on the board. regardless of your feelings on leeds its a sad state of affairs for any big club to be in. personally I don't bear a grudge against the side and would be happy to see them back in the premiership.
  11. it was Jules B that he had been in earlier. someone should have told Smudger to get down TK Maxx for his clean dudds, Calvins for 10 bar a pair. black ones too so his skidmarks wouldnt show up....
  12. good riddance. the little rat never lived up to his own hype. he came up here, took millions from the club, shagged half the lasses on tyneside, fought with bowyer on the pitch, gave it about 45% during matches and spent far too long on the sick lets hope that with the new regime we have finally seen the back of wasters like the King of Bling. as for Roast Ham. they've got Bellamy the rat, Dyer the Rat and Bowyer the rat all in the same team. gutted.
  13. only just caught a glimpse on the news as I wandered past the telly so didnt fully see where he was. the clothes shop he was in is in Jesmond so he must have been nipping into a few places round there.
  14. i'm pretty sure the shop he was coming out of is the same clothes shop as where my mate works. he bought a paul smith t shirt and a pair of boss boxer shorts fact fans.
  15. good mate of mine works in a posh clothes shop in town. smudger smith was just in cos he didnt bring any clothes up with him as didnt think it'd need an overnight stay, but it does. smudger reckoned his contract negotiations are just about finished and he'll be sorting the final details tmrw then getting unveiled
  16. you seem to know half of the Man U squad players......are you Keiron Richardson in disguise ?
  17. it may be depressing but at least its honest and far better than the "keeping our powder dry" bollocks that has spouted for so many previous transfer windows...
  18. I reckon he's overated. quite a few people seem to bum him but I cant remember the last time he played well for us. if we can get decent cash for him I'd take it. he's got a bad injury record too.
  19. i was in the Wehterspoons by the station at 10.30am y'day and there were a number of groups of very handy looking lads in there already who were already on the lash. stone island, paul and shark, adidas gazelles, you know the uniform. they were keeping an eye on what the bizzies were up to and generally looking like they weren't just there for the match. I said to my lass that it looked like things would kick off a bit later in the day.
  20. the more I hear from Big Sam the more I like the bloke. he seems to understand the issues we face as a club and talks openly and honestly about the reality of our situation. which is like a watershed given the bullshit that many of his predecessors have spouted.
  21. the reality is that we aren't currently capable of signing world class players cos we are a team that has languished in mid table for the last few years. what we need is for Sam to build a squad that will get us back to being a decent side and then we might atract some big name players who actually want to play for us rather than just take their wages and do sweet FA. from what I can see Sam is fully aware of the situation we are in and is making an effort to sign players who will do a job and get mucked in. People like Heinze will be wanted by some of the best sides in Europe. Why would they want to come here ? SA is being open and honest about our transfer policy. Which is a refreshing change given the bullshit that has been spouted in the past.
  22. I'd be worried about a sniper rifle that only hit target 1/3 of the time ! I'd love to get the inside track on what journo's get up to. I imagine it goes something like this: editor - circulation is down on Tyneside. sort it out sports reporter - no problem boss. I'm on it. followed by "Toon make move for Ronaldhino / Messi / Cannavaro etc" headline
  23. might it not be a bit harsh to blame Ashley. this is paper chat and the "quote" came from a "source". which normally means "we made it up" to try and sell more papers / get more people on our site. its not as if MA has come out in the press and announced that we're after the goofy brazilian.
  24. Ha Ha. NotW get 12% acuracy Surely someone needs to have a word with their football journo team and ask them to justify their transfer speculation policy !
  25. so even in the case of the best paper, 75% of what they write is bollocks. unbelievable ! its a bit off topic but it makes you think a bit more about how they report other aspects of the news. the more you find out about the media the more you realise just how disgraceful they are. that queen thing this week is a good example of how they alter reality and present it as fact.
