Was chatting to a fella in the seat next to me a couple games back. Nice bloke, probs late 50’s He said he pays £19 per match for his season ticket in the Leazers due to 10 year deal and he’s hoping they won’t raise it too much when it ends as that’d be pure shan And I’m thinking, howay man, 1) I’m paying £50 to sit next to you so don’t rub it in and 2)you’ve got no chance pal, they’ll want to double their money for every game I didn’t say owt though, didn’t want to burst his bubble

don’t think I’ve ever seen a keeper boot it straight at an attackers bonce and it ends up in the net

They also got deducted points and survived a last day of the season relegation threat with heavily soiled y-fronts and fingernails chewed to the quick All because they had the audacity to build a squad that could keep them in the top flight after getting promoted Every competitive silver lining has an anti-competitive cloud, it is the PSR way. NEVER FORGET.

First they came for the Commercial team And I did not speak out Because I was not in the Commercial team Then they came for the Stewards And I did not speak out Because I was not a Steward Then they came for the Members ticket prices And I did not speak out Because I was not a Member buying tickets Then they came for the Club Ambassadors And I did not speak out Because I was not a Club Ambassador Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me (apart from a squad of wasters who earn £3.6m per week)

It’s just a natural human reaction Same reason people stand when they go to see a band Sitting down is for observing, standing up is for getting involved

I think by referring to Standing sections most of us are assuming it’d also be an area where singers will be encouraged to congregate, so we replicate Strawberry Corner but in other parts of the ground I’ve stood in the back row of seating blocks at a couple of games recently, was plenty of others standing, but no one was making much noise Get groups of like minded people together in a few official Standing & Singing sections and I’d bet my bile duct that we’d see a massive improvement in noise
-
And Man Utd were lucky to even do that, they got battered off Southampton for the first 80 mins
-
@Froggy please tell me it’s not a total disaster and you won the all important xG battle today though, aye ?

Brexit Jim issued a “return to office” directive to all staff but the players rarely turn up on match day Magnificent

But if we’d kept Minteh and Anderson to make our squad more competitive, it would have been anti-competitive Never forget that. The financial rules exist to ensure that the league remains competitive

I can be a negative bastard who loves a passionate rant about things that I think are shite (Coldplay, Sketchers) or people I hate (Michael McIntyre, Clive Tyldesley) But I can switch it off when I’m in the ground. If Sean Longstaff isn’t a top tier midfielder, then hurling abuse at him and groaning every time he makes an error isn’t going to make him play better, it’ll make him even worse Save the slagging until out of the ground is my motto
-
One thing I’ve contemplated a few times is that people in the stadium are quick to be very vocal when they want to slag an NUFC player or express frustration if there’s a mistimed pass etc High volume, passionate negativity is very easy for many But people are rarely so keen to offer encouragement to players, or build them back up if they’ve made a mistake Is this just a societal thing ? It’s easier to be negative & angry than it is to be positive & encouraging ?

Man Utd are basing their plan on staying at Old Trafford, so their PR doesn’t need to contemplate fan outrage at the prospect of moving locations. It’s either revamp current stadium or build new stadium, but both in the current out of town site Not defending PIF, as I think they could be doing a much better job on comms But if the conclusion to their feasibility study is that we’re moving, then they need to manage the PR very sensitively and slowly start to prepare fans for the news Because based on chat in here, even moving a few hundred yards to Leazers Park will cause ructions

Totally agree that the club should indicate it’s a safe standing area But if you’ve never been to SJP and you didn’t know that it was Safe Standing up there and you get to your section and it suddenly dawns that you’re in Safe Standing, then just use some common sense and stand up Other people who are aware of the ground layout will have bought tickets in that section knowing it was Safe Standing and they want to stand Plus, if you’re capable of walking up to L7 you’re capable of standing for 90 mins
-
Common sense should prevail, but it doesn’t “Whoopsy, I’ve never been to SJP before and have accidentally bought a ticket in a section I never knew was Safe Standing, should I: A) stand up B) make everyone else sit down I know, I’ll go for B” And there’s plenty of kids in Gallowgate Safe Standing who seem to make it work and are able to enjoy the match, so the “kids can’t stand” argument doesn’t stand up to scrutiny either
-
They’re sitting down in a Safe Standing section though
