  1. They brought the rules in a decade ago but haven’t updated them to reflect massive inflation, that’s a fundamental flaw And you’ve also got clubs who are now in a position to challenge the cartel by spending on elite players and wages but are being held back by FPP, so it’s even more apparent that it’s a system designed to protect the 6 clubs that were already wealthy and successful And Chelsea have helped expose the sham even further by spending billions willy-nilly, which further emphasised that 6 clubs are being given permission to have a huge financial advantage over everyone else
  2. Most NUFC fans aren’t on about spending billions on galacticos We just want to get rid of the dross players we were saddled with due to the Ashley era and build a squad that’s fit to challenge the upper end of the table We’re being financially disadvantaged because the club was run by an absolute cunt for over a decade and all revenue streams were cut off so he could get free advertising for his chain of jumble sale tat emporiums Pre-Ashley we were on a similar footing to you and his ownership deliberately took us backwards and restricted any progress for 14 years. Now we’ve got owners who want to invest and we’re still being restricted in our attempts to progress by shit rules that are designed to maintain the status quo for 6 teams over the other 14
  3. The PL lawyers tried to take us on pre-takeover and got absolutely rinsed in the live streamed hearing It was actually embarrassing to watch I say bring the daft cunts on for an FFP legal battle, especially as their shit rules hobble 14 clubs this time, not just NUFC
  4. That’s good info, will keep my eye out for general sale as the game gets nearer
  5. I know it's EFL not PL but the shit going down at Reading is the type of scenario FFP and Ownership Tests should be protecting clubs against isn't it ? Not a vehicle to prevent clubs with massive resources from spending money on players Reading have owner who'd already bankrupted 2 football clubs but was still allowed to buy Reading. They've been docked 16 points in 2 years for financial issues and they're now on the verge of being liquidated too So the EFL are now releasing statements asking him to invest or sell It's the very definition of closing stable door after horse has bolted
  6. Sporting vs Benfica derby, spoke to box office and tickets on sale to members only and membership has to have been bought at least 6 months ago to be eligible If tourists want to go they have to find a member willing give them a spare ticket, or take their chances of getting fleeced on a touting site Frustrating news for a tourist like me, but better for the fans of Sporting. Our lot should look into implementing something similar for big games
  7. Aye, wasn’t expecting many available tickets but thought I might have a slightly better chance as I’d only want a single Really tricky to find out how their ticketing system works and more info on membership / public sales at Sporting, the website is shit
  8. I'm in Lisbon when Sporting play Benfica, would very much fancy that. Cannit figure out how tickets for Sporting games are sold though, seems like you've probably got to buy a membership Alternative is using one of the tout sites like Seatpick, would rather not but might be only option
  9. Once again, the seed of Neville Neville's loins commentating on his beloved team. If I wanted to listen to a massive Man Utd fan commentating on this game I'd go and find a live-streamed fan channel NEUTRALS OR NOWT MAN, FUCKSAKE
  10. It’s a minor point, but we’re not skint and could happily shop at Fortnum & Mason, but all our neighbours are forcing us to shop at Heron Foods because they’re jealous of how much money we have

    Joelinton

He got an alert on his phone as they broke in and the bizzies were there straight away, nowt much else he could do really When I was a kid a pal lived in a massive house in Ponteland and they had a pack of alsation guard dogs for security, they lived in kennels and were radge as fuck. Working dogs, not pets If the family weren’t home the dogs would be let out to roam the grounds looking for people to chin Not state of the art, but very effective
  12. Was stood in the Corner and it was noisy all game, as usual It’s as close as you’ll get to the old terraces I reckon. Feels like a little community and the group of lads in front of me were exactly how football used to be. Early 20’s, all pals, turn up half cut, sing their hearts out for 90 mins, carnage when we scored. Having decent crack with the people around them, not being dicks. Made me wish I was that age again.
  13. This is exactly what the Man Utd person said. LED boards and press release is about all a minor partner will get And that’s not likely to excite a potential partner and demonstrate worthwhile ROI And Man Utd are able to go around the world touting for partners by pitching their trophy cabinet and international fan base. Neither of which we have, so we’re immediately in a weaker position
  14. Was talking to a non-playing staff senior manager from Man Utd this week. Even with the size of their resources and global reach, agreeing new commercial deals can take ages. And Man Utd’s commercial team is in the opposite place to us. Too many people compared to City, Arsenal etc, deals already in place for pretty much everything that can possibly be sponsored Compounded by consistently underachieving on the pitch and players with such high transfer fees and wages that they can’t sell them. They’d planned for getting £100m for Maguire and McTominay in the summer for instance Sounds like Ineos are going to have to wield the axe to sort the situation out

Tsamina mina, eh, eh Waka waka, eh, eh Our midfield goes down the drain Joelinton's crocked again
  16. Squad sorted by minutes played so far this season

    Joelinton

10 of our 1st team squad have played less than 1,000 minutes so far this season. And 6 of those 10 have played 300 mins or less. Of the ones who'd played more than 1,000 minutes. Pope, Joelinton, Wilson, Isak, Burn, Botman and Longstaff have also been out injured. It's no wonder it's been a massively frustrating season. We've got a handful of players being worked to the bone (Bruno, Gordon, Trips, Schar) and loads of players barely contributing. I've never known anything like it.
  18. @brummie Some of the best gig footage I’ve ever seen this, stage gets full of kids like you
  19. Sincerely hope you shouted PARKLIFE ! every time Phil Daniels finished speaking
  20. Yep, home kit blue, away kit darker blue, 3rd kit spearmint
  21. RTG Thread: People at a football match in Saudi didn't observe a minutes silence for Beckenbauer. Disgusting. RTG: It's the Mags fault RTG: If you say it wasn't the Mags fault, you're a Mag RTG: If you say it wasn't a Mag who said it wasn't the Mags fault then you're a Mag Repeat ad nauseum
  22. Pretty sure someone on here was saying recently that they’re on a price freeze deal that means their adult season ticket is currently £250. Which is wild
  23. Hello, this is Albert Gubbins calling from NUFC. I’d like to enquire about whether your architecture firm could help me with relocating Leazes Terrace into the nearby park, brick by brick.
