  1. A perfect summary of the situation.
  2. In my opinion Mike, you are sexiest poster on this forum. I think I love you.
  3. This was from 2 or 3 seasons ago, before Burn moved to CB. I’d be sat next to people in various parts of the ground who couldn’t wait to get stuck into Burn because he hadn’t been playing well, which at the time was in his normal position of LB. Same as the grief Longstaff got last season, as a more recent example. The only thing it’s got to do with Elanga, is saying that if a player isn’t playing well, but is clearly trying to play well, then shouting abuse or huffing and puffing from the stands at them won’t make them play better.
  4. I think you’ve misunderstood the point being made, which has since been derailed by squabbling. Burn was given by me as an example of a player who consistently got loads of shite from the stands, he was playing LB and playing poorly, despite his best efforts. Then someone suggested that giving players loads of shite from the stands was OK because Burn became good after getting loads of shite. But the reason Burn became good was switching positions. Not because he got shite from the stands. The original point being made was simply this: If you shout abuse at our own player who’s playing poorly but trying hard, in most cases it won’t make them play better, it’ll make them worse.
  5. Dan Burn was poor at left back, got abused from our own fans even though he was fully committed to doing his best when he played. He got better on the pitch because he got moved to centre back. Not because he got called shite by thousands of our own fans. How many more time do we have to go over that same point.
  6. Some PHD level psychology insight on display there like. You seem like someone who really understands the human psyche. 1 - certain players get loads of shite in the ground. I’m there most weeks and over the last few years have been in every part of every stand apart from the family enclosure. It’s the same everywhere. We have pantomime villains in black and white, the player being targeted may change but the attitude from the stands doesn’t. 2 - many people, including footballers, respond much better to positive encouragement rather than being shouted at and told their shite. 3 - telling someone their shite lots of times wont typically result in them stopping being shite, it makes them even more shite because it destroys their confidence.
  7. Burn was playing poorly at left back, people constantly slagged him off in the ground shouting about how shite he was, he kept playing poorly at left back. He got moved to CB and played well. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make ? That we should shout negative shite at players in the ground just because we can ? Or are you one of the blokes I sat next to who slagged Burn off constantly game after game and now you’re feeling the need to justify your actions
  8. They need to squirt a bit mould & mildew remover on the top of the glass roof It’s fucking filthy up there Looks like that fish tank in Finding Nemo
  9. Love how we can turn a brilliant 1st half performance into a complaint about how he allegedly only turns it on for big games Just enjoy the fact he’s having a blinder you grumpy owld bastards
  10. Did Gordon have a massive line of bugger dust at 12.25 or what
  11. Like me when some stat nonce whips their xG out
  12. I think it’s feasible that our xG will fly so high it leaves the atmosphere
  13. You could, but you’d be wrong
  14. I think we all know that most of the moaners aren’t the ones paying £60+ for tickets game by game and getting their tickets last minute
  15. Plenty of tickets available if anyone within an hour of Newcastle fancies it
  16. Ha ha Wissa plays Ha ha thataway Ha ha Wissa plays My oh my
  17. Easiest way to get out of the kids parties is to claim you’ve failed your Enhanced DBS check. Worked a treat for me, my missus had to do all the parties and I got to chill in front on the telly.
  18. And for those who don’t know who Linsey Dawn Mackenzie is Linsey Dawn McKenzie is an English glamour model, pornographic performer, and television personality who made her topless modelling debut in the Sunday Sport newspaper on her 16th birthday
  19. He scored 6 goals and got 11 assists. In a team that was set up to absorb pressure and hit on the counter, not some swashbuckling side scoring for fun. One of my close pals is a diehard Forest fan and as soon as we were linked, he was saying he’d be gutted to lose Elanga because of how key he’d been to their system. I never said he was their best player or made things happen. I said he was a stand out player for them. Which he absolutely was. He did what counter attacking wingers need to do. Score some goals and create some goals. I was neutral about his signing and haven’t seen anything from him that’s impressed me yet, but I’m not rewriting history from his Forest days. Whereas you clearly don’t rate him and didn’t want him here.
  20. You’re standing a long way from the screen ?
  21. He struggled at LB and everyone could see he was struggling, but he was doing his best and doing what was being asked of him. So what was the thought process of the people singling him out for abuse game after game ? “A fully committed player is struggling so I know what’ll make him play better, I’ll turn up and call him worse than shite for the full 90 mins” Longstaff got exactly the same treatment from these people. They’re not supporters. If they want to abuse our own players fair enough, but keep the fuck away from the ground and stay at home to shout at the telly instead.
