Jackson's finishing is very similar to Gordon. I don't think we gain a lot from getting him. We need someone to put the ball in the net.
-
yeah the version of Anderson we had definitely not. But he's grown alot in a short space of time and I think he will continue to develop further. Reminds me alot of James Milner.
-
Obviously pleased to sign him and hope he does really well. But a part of me thinks isn't this like if we sold Willock to someone and they were buzzing looking at all the clips of him online and seeing the 22/23 version and not the current one we have had post injuries? It's kinda same for Ramsey, all the footage of him online seems to be from him at least two years ago and very little from last year and obviously was out injured the year before that.

Think he might have surpassed Joe now he had a full season to develop last year. If not now he will shortly as Joe declines and Anderson is still developing. Technically he's much better on the ball. Physically he will never be big Joe but he has improved and can hold his own now in that department. If he was back here now I'd imagine he and Joe would be pretty close battle in who would start. Really is a shame we had to sell him with hindsight. But if he had stayed he wouldn't necessarily be playing at the level he is currently.

Not doubting you opinion that he flopped for them, just don't remember ever seeing him play in the premier league and a quick Google suggest he didn't. So bit harsh to say he already flopped in the prem before if this was his first game today. But yeah not a great debut today but I'm sure he'll properly score the odd goal but don't think he will be an Isak/Haaland level player for them.

Cunha is the main one I was most disappointed to miss out on, (of the 3 they signed ahead of us). He's unique and has incredible speed and running power and comes up with moments out of nothing. Will prove a good signing for them.

He loves that saying this commentator. "The world and his wife" bit sexist
-
Even if they lose Guehi and Eze which is very possible? Agree btw Glasner looks a good coach and I like players like Mateta, Munoz and Wharton.
-
To be fair the sheer vast number of us that weren't aware and how pathetic that rule seems to be says it all. They obviously slipped it in without most taking notice and tried to fix something that wasn't broken. How are they even working out the 1m thing? From the various camera angles they have? Open to error easily.

The fact it's Saudi inspired is one reason. Also for me I want to see Newcastle in black and white stripes as often as possible, ideally even just changing the socks or shorts occasionally to white if needed. But swapping to the Saudi kit, even when it makes no logical sense to do so and actually makes it harder to differentiate players, like both having white shorts yesterday for example. Doesn't help that I'm the opposite to you in that this is my least favourite of the ever growing repertoire of Saudi green/white kits so far.

If Spurs get Savinho and Eze then I think it's safe to say they likely finish ahead of us in the league?
-
And still no shirt sponsor despite spending fortunes and still leading the "PSR league". Joke.

When was it a rule you can't stand next to the wall? Must have missed that one over the years.
-
If that's the precedent, then Arsenal should be prepared for every single one of their set pieces being ruled out this year. Oh wait they are one of the sky six. Crack on then. Also no shock Cucarella didn't even get a yellow for the absolute hack he did on the palace player.
-
That's a fucking disgrace. You are allowed to lean in to other players he was just stronger than Caicedo. "Games gone"

It made zero sense to wear the Green kit yesterday when the black and white (predominately white) shirt would have contrasted fine against the maroon of villa. Then the black shorts against their white shorts instead of both wearing white like we did. Finally black socks against their light blue. If this is a sign of being forced to wear the green every away game even when it makes zero sense too then that's even more annoying than having to put up with a green and white kit every season in the first place.

He's allowed to have an off day. Looked our sharpest player in preseason so was bit surprising he was the one who looked most off it today but you never know could be under the weather or anything. Hopefully he's right up for it next week.
-
Just me or has Bruno been miles off it today?
-
Again white shorts light blue socks. Why the fuck are we not in our home kit
-
Come on Eddie. Show them all once again how good you are and that you can pull off good results even without the twat.
-
Agreed. However I'm tight games, having a clinical striker can make the difference (Watkins) But think I'd prefer that than playing really open and seeing him and Rogers running at will against our backline. Just really hope we have learnt from last year and have an ace up our sleeves. Suppose we can switch to the 532 second half as Botman should be fit for 45mins atleast.
-
Yeah that too. Can't be understated either.
-
If they sit off us in possession though, we have very little to unlock that back 4/midfield 5. Counter seems our only weapon today.

I know alot of us are dreading it due to how poor we were in the same fixture last year. But Villa were in a really good form at the time and we seemed to really run out of gas in that game. It was the last time Joelinton played and he was clearly miles off it physically. Isak was also fucked with his groin and could barely run. So we're effectively playing almost 9 men. So I don't expect us to win, especially with no striker, but I hope we will be able to show a much stronger performance as the team should be nice and fresh.
