Ugh ?. Don't like them getting silly money for an aging player. Will set them up for the next few years massively.

Man U will look alot better once Amrabat plays and if Hojlund settles. Still stick by my pre season prediction that I think they finish outside top 4.

Sven Botman: Out for up to 8 weeks after minor Knee operation (Howe)
alexf replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Midfield has been really poor which doesn't help the defense. However...today for me really showcased how good Botman is in comparison to Burn. When Botman steps out he more often than not makes the interception. Burn got no where near and then decided to start backing off instead which lead to the 2nd and 3rd having so much time and space. Also seems to compliment Schar who looks half he player without him. Will fear the worst in every game he's not playing this season. -
We were riding an incredible wave of momentum and enthusiasm going into last season and caught alot of teams by surprise with our pressing style etc. Was always going to be tougher this year with the extra games and teams now treating us like a big team and being aware of our tactics. However it does feel from a starting 11 perspective we aren't much stronger. Putting alot of hope in Willock to come in and improve the midfield but so far Joelinton has looked a mile off (like carrying a knock) Bruno looks like he hasn't put in the effort preseason and also looks off it. Tonali is new and adapting with little English. Schar tripper and burn are all a year older and look tired already. It's gonna be a long season and I hope fans and owners are patient as there are gonna be more days like today coming.

Wilson's had the right attitude since coming on. I thought before the game he was due a start. Defo next game for sure. Whole lineup needs a rethink from Eddie.
-
God forgot what it was like to be shit.

Joelinton way off it again. If he's carrying a knock then someone else should be playing. Crying out for someone to pick up João Pedro in the hole. Burn and Schar are too slow to step out and our midfield is nowhere to be seen. 2nd half. Bruno and Tonali to sit in and Isak to play as a 10 behind Wilson. Joelinton off.

Would love to hear the VAR audio on that for their justification that he isn't interfering. You can literally see Leno waiting to see if Akanji is going to touch it before he dives. Refs in this country are not fit for purpose.

How on earth is that not been disallowed. Shocking big team favouritism once again.

Wasn't released. It was just a carefully worded statement to try and appease the public that he wasn't going to rejoin man u's squad. But they still see him as an asset so wanted to try and get across that he was "innocent honestly" so that someone would loan or buy him. A loan is probably better for them, as if he rediscovers any of his old form then they can sell for high fee to some morally bankrupt club, or which there will be plenty of options.

I'd be snapping their hands off if I was Liverpool. Yes this season may suffer or at least until January, but they have so much attacking talent and they aren't going to win the league anyways but would have enough to compete for top 4. They would never have got a fee that high for him from anyone else. If anything proved that our club is being run separate to what's going on with their Saudi league though then this is it. They want the big names at any cost, even if it bankrolls our rival teams.
-
You think too much or not enough? Considering the fee we paid for Gordon and the similar ages, I'd say Johnson has possibly shown more in the prem so far?
-
Utterly predictable selections. They have kept him on too long (felt he should have walked away before Qatar personally) now it's just going to be a fairly negative end to his reign and a waste of everyone's time. The FA won't have a clue who they want to replace him either.

Someone hasn't clocked on to Raspberryjam's posting style I take it.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
alexf replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Wow group of death ? However think its a cool group. Every fixture will be massive. Maybe prefer it that way? Could easily lose all games however ? -
Red card aside he was anonymous. Similar to Man city. I'm still not convinced we are going to see the best of him as a no.9 in our formation. As others said he seems most dangerous when he drops to link play or pulls out wide. But when we only have two strikers in the squad then we can't really risk playing them both together at the same time from the start as there's nothing in reserve.
-
On reflection this morning and trying to be positive. The 30 or so minutes leading up to the red card we were massively on top and controlling the midfield. No idea why hat stopped, it was abit like the villa game in the sense that we dropped off after the Mings injury. Perhaps we don't have the energy levels to maintain that high intensity and it's why few teams do it and we just burn ourselves out? Or we just need to get better at the psychological side and not let things like the red card change our approach. On another day as others say, maybe one of Miggy's shots doesn't hit the post or Barnes squares it perfectly to Wilson. But it never felt like we were doing enough to put the game away, even our goal was a gift by them. Just never felt comfortable and the subs even at the time I felt this is a mistake. Tonali is a calming influence and Gordon had been a constant threat. Players can get 2nd winds. I felt like the change needed to be Burn for Targett sooner in the 2nd half so we could have got the ball into Gordon alot quicker and more often. Once Nunez came on and they got to the last ten mins I think everyone just had that knot in their stomach. Botman was unlucky but Bruno was idiotic for the 2nd.
-
Salah and Diaz over the top are the concern ofcourse. On one hand I like when we stick to our plan A no matter the opposition, on the other it scares the shit out of me that ball over the top with their pace.
-
Obviously we're gonna get Carragher on commentary today for Sky ?.
-
Feels like Jude is Real's Main man already now Benzema has gone. Thought Rafa was gonna grind out a decent result for his new team. Wonder what he's thinking seeing Joselu lining up for Madrid.

I think Liverpool hatred is clouding judgement on this one. If that had been given against us and not overturned I'd have been fuming. Frustrating that it benefits them and directly against us but correct to overturn.

The preview image alone makes watching that an impossibility for me. "Steve Bruce TRUTH....." ? blokes a pathological liar. "No tippy tappy football" because neither of those dinosaurs are capable of coaching any kind of possession based team. Finally... the sight of both of their fat fucking enormous heads. Smiling cus they both got paid off for frauding the club pretending to be Football managers. You know what. If a day ever came where someone could actually self reflect and hold their hands up and just say "actually I underperformed there" instead of blaming the fans or the the club in general, I'd have some respect for them. But no Allardyce, Bruce, Souness, Pardew, have all for years just deflected away from their shiteness and helped perpetuate this lazy media opinion of our club. Thankfully Howe is showing all of those cunts how it's done. Argh my day is ruined before it's got started ??

Is it bad that most of your posts now even the non office quotes, I just hear as Brent or was that always the intention. ?
