But they still see him as an asset so wanted to try and get across that he was "innocent honestly" so that someone would loan or buy him. A loan is probably better for them, as if he rediscovers any of his old form then they can sell for high fee to some morally bankrupt club, or which there will be plenty of options.

I'd be snapping their hands off if I was Liverpool. Yes this season may suffer or at least until January, but they have so much attacking talent and they aren't going to win the league anyways but would have enough to compete for top 4. They would never have got a fee that high for him from anyone else. If anything proved that our club is being run separate to what's going on with their Saudi league though then this is it. They want the big names at any cost, even if it bankrolls our rival teams.

Red card aside he was anonymous. Similar to Man city. I'm still not convinced we are going to see the best of him as a no.9 in our formation. As others said he seems most dangerous when he drops to link play or pulls out wide. But when we only have two strikers in the squad then we can't really risk playing them both together at the same time from the start as there's nothing in reserve.

On reflection this morning and trying to be positive. The 30 or so minutes leading up to the red card we were massively on top and controlling the midfield. No idea why hat stopped, it was abit like the villa game in the sense that we dropped off after the Mings injury. Perhaps we don't have the energy levels to maintain that high intensity and it's why few teams do it and we just burn ourselves out? Or we just need to get better at the psychological side and not let things like the red card change our approach. On another day as others say, maybe one of Miggy's shots doesn't hit the post or Barnes squares it perfectly to Wilson. But it never felt like we were doing enough to put the game away, even our goal was a gift by them. Just never felt comfortable and the subs even at the time I felt this is a mistake. Tonali is a calming influence and Gordon had been a constant threat. Players can get 2nd winds. I felt like the change needed to be Burn for Targett sooner in the 2nd half so we could have got the ball into Gordon alot quicker and more often. Once Nunez came on and they got to the last ten mins I think everyone just had that knot in their stomach. Botman was unlucky but Bruno was idiotic for the 2nd.

Salah and Diaz over the top are the concern ofcourse. On one hand I like when we stick to our plan A no matter the opposition, on the other it scares the shit out of me that ball over the top with their pace.

Did I hear Trent might be missing for them? Would we rather he played or not? Yes, he created their first goal last season and is always a threat. But they might actually stumble on to a better defensive shape if they end up playing Konate or someone else at right back if Trent is injured.

Safe to say the "big Newcastle fan" stuff may have been overblown? ? Couldn't name a single memorable game and the only player he could name was Shearer even though he's never seen him play. This reminds of a time I was in Greece and attempted to navigate via train to the town center without my Greek speaking friend just so I could find a pub that might be showing the Man Utd Newcastle game (2014 when we won away in the yellow kit?) Managed to find a random pub down a quiet side street. There was also a Newcastle fan from Hong Kong and also one from Australia in there also and a few man U fans. Was an enjoyable victory ☺️

Question that I think I know the answer for but just want to be sure. Is it going to be almost impossible now for me to try and get two seats together for me and my partner for a game as a non season ticket holder? I live far away but used to come up for games all the time in the past and some away games with a membership. But the Bruce years I couldn't stomach so haven't been to a game since Benitez era. But I wanted to take my partner to her first game to experience but it looks like I'd have to enter a ballot just to get myself a ticket and would need a 2nd membership for her but wouldn't be able to pick two seats together?

Still showed for the ball always and happy to receive it. Stronger game for him than Villa was. The missed shot was simple symptom of what alot of our players did on the night, snatched at it because he was rushing, scared to lose possession or waste a chance of a shot at goal against a formidable opponent. Bruno whilst he has had a few ofcourse, isn't a player for individual moments to turn a game generally. He is there to control a game. Control our tempo, keep possession etc. When we had our brief spells in the game in the 1st half and 2nd, he was at the heart of it, keeping the ball moving and looking for angles. He's not gonna go on fast powerful driving runs or hit many long range thunderbastards. He needs willing runners and people to play combinations with.
