Fuck I hope so, I've always said this league is shit and a lot of people were overestimating it. But it really does feel good to see someone who's seen a lot of this league say something that positive. Unless we sell a bunch of our players who are clearly a class above the Championship.

I agree, I love all of these people who magically know how much each player is making per-week, it's laughable. The only people who have any clue are the ones running the books, the player, and his agent. If you're not any of those people you should stop talking before you start acting like you even know.

Would be gutted to lose him, but it would be a good move for him - more power to him. He'll never get any of the time he deserves from the fans so he should leave now before his confidence is ruined forever. He's a class CB and with some good coaching (which he's got none of while being here) could really turn out to be a great ball playing CB. When we revert to the long-ball game I'd much rather have him lobbing the ball up to the strikers than Taylor, that's for sure.

The only reason I floated the idea of there being a Moat/Ashley partnership is down to the fact that I know Ashley is a good businessman and he won't want to take such a huge hit to his bank account but also not lose what could potentially be a good investment. If he took a 50% cut and went out of the public eye to let Moat run the club it could ease the tensions between himself and the fans (he's not an idiot and knows we don't approve of him any longer) while still being able to make some cash off the whole thing. He's already asked for help from other individuals for investment in the squad/club and it just wouldn't surprise me at all if he were to do something along these lines - still take his wedge but not have to deal with anything NUFC-related publicly.

You obviously didn't watch the match then because he showed a handful of class touches and made some really good movement off the ball. He likes to drop back from what I can see and really try and link up the play. I think he'd work great alongside Carroll because he has much better movement than Shola and can also do the hold-up play well (unlike Shola). Would love to see him get a start one of these weeks.

Would love that, much more than him playing here, but I'd also take him to play here as well.

I love the experts on here who know all about Campell's supposed wage demands. Maybe he's not attached to a club because the ones that came in for him were shit and had no potential unlike our beloved club.

Check the Barton thread. Apparently it might only be a bruise.

Seems pretty obvious to me what's going to happen now. Ashley will keep the club and he'll put his mate Moat in charge of the day to day running of it. It'll curry favour with the fans allowing him to keep hold of it and get much more cash if we get promoted. I may be wrong, but IMO there is no way Ashley is going to sell up if we're playing well. In less than twelve months time he could have a Premiership club again and ask a Premiership price for it. Had the same thought myself actually. I was wondering what people would think if Moat bought 50% of the club or something and ran the day-to-day operations letting Ashley just live in the shadows and pick up a wedge.

Chris Hughton's Entertainers?

It's awesome to see the guys out there smiling and enjoying their football.

Nugent is also a trouble maker these days.

Would give us some good mobility in the center of the park for sure.

I agree. He will tear the Championship apart.

Not sure how many times it has to be said but the fat prick has never seen a penny of our money. Quite possibly the most ridiculous comment ever posted on here. Teasy is 100% correct, you sir, are 100% wrong.

Possibly the funniest thing on the internet. truth.

I actually like the gold borders.

Me too. I'd love to see something along these lines: Krul/Harper Raylor Saylor Colo Enrique Jonas Smith/Guthrie Barton Duff Carroll Xisco With subs (Lua Lua for Duff/Jonas and Ranger for Carroll/Xisco) coming on around the 70 minute mark so they actually have a chance to influence the match.

Tampa Bay Mutiny with Valderrama on the back. :colo: <---

They show "classic" matches here on Fox Soccer Channel and that was what I noticed. Even in 01 they were still letting so much more go and it made it more exciting.d

Just a head's up for the US based fans: Sat, Aug 15 | 12:20PM EST | Football League Football League - Newcastle United vs. Reading on ESPN360. Two matches in two weeks, let's hope it keeps up.

I don't think we should sell for £70m either. Its about status and pride as much as anything. If Ronaldo is worth more than our whole club than what does it say? One player for god sake. That's why Ashley holding out for the 100 is important for the club IMO. Don't wanna get on your back or owt, but that's one of the most mental things I've ever, ever read. Agreed. Tonight gazza is displaying some of the dumbest logic I have ever witnessed.

I just hope that Everton do well and that Man U and Liverpool don't win anything. That's really my only hopes for the Prem this season. Other than that, I was thinking yesterday while watching the match that a few of Smith's tackles would've most definitely been called fouls in the Prem and they clearly weren't fouls. You can tell that most of the players know that as well (except Duff/Jonas) because they get tackled and just get right back up to get on with business. I think we will see a lot of long ball played by clubs this season but overall it will be more enjoyable than the Prem's diving pansies.
