    Nile Ranger

wonder what the odds are on a ranger hat trick 1/1 I'd imagine.
  2. I was at a Canadian Football League game tonight (Montreal Alouettes vs Edmonton Eskimos) and there were vuvuzelas there as well.

    Players in public

    lol that shirt is ridiculous.
  4. Pulling shirts in the box is the best way to defend. If you're not doing it, you're getting scored on, end of.
  5. Tons of money can buy us a very competent manager of a known quantity. Obviously the money over Shearer, everytime.
  6. Was thinking about this Gooch move, could it be the biggest move for an American ever? I can't think of any other players off the top of my head (although I will be proved wrong shortly I'd imagine) who have gotten moves to such huge clubs? That being said, I think Gooch will do well in the Serie A. It's a slower game and he will have a little more time to try and read it than he did in the Prem. He's more physical than most of the players in that league too. I am obviously slightly biased but I think overall it will prove to be a good signing by AC Milan.
  7. 70 years old? How old are other chairmen in the league? 70 seems a bit old to me.
  8. Love that we get to call him TAK.
  9. according to Wikipedia: Net worth ▲US$7.4 billion
  10. That new ball looks fucking mint!
  11. Living in Orlando, Florida now. Was born in Southern Florida (West Palm), lived most of my life in Stuart, Florida but spent a few years in Southern California due to my dad's work.

    Mark Viduka

Viduka is one of the best strikers in the Prem when fit. Will be a great signing for whoever gets him.
  13. Love the away kit, total class.
  14. Martins is better than Owen even if for the simple fact that Martins does not solely rely on other's service for his goals. Martins can create his own chances and make something happen. Owen is far from that.
  15. Fergie knows what the fuck he's doing, SAF has a pretty decent track record ya know. I doubt Owen will start that often (if at all) but if you have ten minutes left in a Champions League match and you're chasing a goal would you rather throw Wellbeck on or Owen? Owen will also be getting the kind of service he needs at Man U and will actually score goals.
  16. So it's okay to play football in a less than honest manner because everyone in the country thinks it's okay? Good logic.
  17. I can't believe someone on here is trying to defend Inter Milan (or Italians in general) when it comes to cheating. WC '06 was a prime example of the Italian "ingenuity" when it comes to ruining the game of football.
  18. ...because they don't have relegation. Mismanagement is not exclusive to Britain. My point has nothing to do with relegation at all. There are very few professional sports teams in America ran like a f***ing circus. Disagree - there are plenty of examples of similar circus type management. Al Davis - Raiders Mark Cuban - Mavs De Bartolo family - 49ers Marge Schott - Reds 4 out of 92 (MLB, NBA, NFL - 137 if you include NHL & MLS)? I think a lot of his has to do with the passion aspect of English Football. The reason the top clubs are doing well is because they are run by foreigners with no real passion for the club and (sometimes) enlist personnel with close ties to the club to help advise them, but when the "hour cometh" they think with their head and with business sense rather than their heart and hold very little sentiment. Now it just boils down to the choice, would you rather have a some-what soulless club (at least from the boardroom stand-point - there will always be passionate fans) that is well run and be at the top of the game or have a haphazardly run club with local owners at the helm and being adrift in the lower leagues? Unfortunately the face of the game has changed, even over the past 20 years or so, and you've either gotta keep up or fall behind. Football is a world business now and there is very little room for staunch localism.
  19. Thank fuck. I can't believe people are actually entertaining this notion. Shepard has already proven himself a shitty chairman and most of us were glad to get shot of him. Just because Ashley was a shitt(ier)y owner too doesn't make Shepard suddenly become a good chairman. Screw your heads on guys. If you are following the lead of the Daily Star you probably need to screw your own head on to be fair. I have no clue about anything in the Daily Star, I was merely using their headline as a catalyst for discussion. That's like saying I buy the Gaurdian because I like looking pictures of birds with nice tits. I don't know about the Guardian* either. I don't read either.
