  1. Just giving him ratings of 2 and such like man, online and that. What a bunch of absolute fucking doylems. I'm not saying people can't think he's not as good as Tonali, he's our weakest link, he's an average midfielder, aye - whatever, but at least be objective and fair about it. Not necessarily on this forum but social media and even in person - people at the games or watching in bars. He's just a scapegoat and an easy target. He clearly isn't the most confident of kids and he adores playing for his home, his city. What do people want?! It's not his fault he's picked and when he is picked he gives it his all and more. I'd have 11 Sean Longstaffs over 11 fucking Sissoko's every day of the week. Absolute piss take. He's our player, from our home.
  2. The way people go on about Longstaff is almost tantamount to bullying. People need to fuck off.
  3. Yep. I suppose it is absolutely wonderful to hear such sounds, it means we're upsetting the status quo.
  4. It's always "Ah those plucky, drunken, loyal, loveable Geordies" when we're doing well, until it threatens one of their "big 6" and then when we're doing bad "Deluded, over expectant Geordies".

  6. Re. The captaincy - I think there's a few things at play there. Trippier is in the latter stages of his career and seemingly was being touted about for a decent amount of money that no one could or would cough up - thankfully, in my opinion. He is invaluable as an experienced member of the squad and one of the select few that have actually won anything. He oozes quality and is of an age to really settle and communicate calmness to the rest of the team, a well rounded captain. Where Trippier differs in terms of captaincy to someone like Bruno is that Trippier - I suspect - leads through communication primarily, as an organiser and a level head. Bruno on the other hand leads through his passion and his technical ability, setting an example through his play, not his communication. What they share is charisma and character, hence being influential and thus choices for the captaincy. Trippier has age and experience on his side but that is something we won't be building around for the years to come. Trippier has almost served his purpose in the transition of NUFC. Bruno on the other hand will need to be given TLC and managed to keep him here, and for us to build a team around, if we struggle to get CL football and/or silverware. Therefore, it makes sense to make him captain, and is not only safe but a small-scale demonstration that Howe is willing to make tough decisions and where we aspire the club to reach.
  7. Now Mitchell, I reckon Chicken chat and a Jalfelrezi of sorts.

Not for me. Although, he would be second.

I reckon he can play one position effectively in the PL for a team of Newcastle's aspiration and that'd be LWB in a back 5, currently that is. It's not to say he will be limited to that.

He's our weakest link, for me.
  13. We actually missed Longstaff when he was out and folk were saying they weren't sure if Tonali, Joelinton and Bruno had or could quite 'click' before Tonali's ban if I remember correctly. I trust whatever decision Eddie makes. We all know Tonali is better but away from home, he may want Longstaff's running.

 TBF in relation to the above posts, equally as weird I was looking at Sofa Beds on Facebook Market place, seen a reasonably priced one I was after then as soon as I noticed it was in Sunderland I was just like... "Errr...no"

This is just such a typical Mackem thing to say/do as their team score...
  16. I don't think he thinks he's too good for us like, think that's a bit unfair to say. He's into his third consecutive season without any real sustained break and felt the let down of the England tournament after arguably his best ever season. I think you'll see a different Gordon today. Agree with the rest though, Gordon was jogging back versus Southampton I believe and Joelinton literally went tearing past him from about 20 yards behind him. Similar happened versus Bournemouth too.

Cuase he's a thick Mackem charva.
  18. Aye the whiskers intrigued me as to the plans for it. I reckon a bit of hot sauce on that and the wedges would compliment it nicely. Mustard seems the anomaly.
  19. Many good players aren't great simply because they're technically talented but aren't smart enough or capable of reading the game as well as they should.
  20. Eddie is our king. 🤴
