Heron replied to wor jackie's topic in Football
Hi mate, I think this is fantastic, I've been to football so just catching up in the group chat atm. But I'll be sure to share it and see what they think. Will let you know. Thank you -
Dont think what Klaus said was stupid but still, sadly, the above is very much the case

There a bad eggs in every walk of life, but I don't think the ridiculous wages given to such young folk is sensible and will inevitably give them a sense of self entitlement. A mate of mine made the suggestion that their wage should be capped with the rest being put into a pension fund or similar for once they're older and more mature. I kinda like that idea. But then you have too say it is also a tad unfair on the dozens of youngs lads who are model pros and just go about their business quietly. I'll reserve my judgement on the various social media things today like. Twitter in particular is horrendous for a snapshot of a greater picture. My inclination is that Greenwood is indeed a scumbag who deserves a pasting, but to some degree, everyone jumping on it and either slating him or the lass are doing so without contemplating the full picture. The truth, or at least, the more likely truth will hopefully come out in the coming days and hopefully justice is served, if necessary.

Aye, it does. Just good to know what we do resonates with the fans primarily but also the club.

Great crack from the club

Fair on the heat thing, I hadn't realised.

Sorry to be 'that' guy but I think people are looking at this in a canny simplistic way. Clark has been a good servant to the club. It may have been stupid what he did today, but he's done it whilst playing in soaring heat more than likely, whilst his PL career (and salary) is coming under much scrutiny and likely going down the pan and has already received a lot of criticism and most likely abuse for Norwich. So there absolutely is pressure for someone like him. That being my next point, what he did vs Norwich, whilst again, lacked a consideration for the bigger picture, playing as a CB myself, I'd have probably done the same in that position. It's easy for everyone to say from like 50m away or in retrospect or whatever, but our relegation rivals were in on goal and actually had we won, we'd have maybe argued he'd made the right call there. I just think there's a higher level of pressure these days owing to the financial element of football. Some will rise to it, others will fall by the wayside. He's tried his best and has served his purpose here. That should be applauded, thanked and both parties should move on...

Fucking Sunderland These bastards really think we have sent in undercover agents whilst we have a PL match on at the same time? And they call us deluded. What a bunch of whoppers.

Haha! There's been another amusing suggestion in the groups WA, if we do it, I'm sure it'll be one of our most amusing displays/acts yet.
-
Isn't required. Eddie Howe's clean sheet mags.
-
It's all maths mate... ?

Haha! Hate to say I told you so... But... Nar, joking aside, we all see things differently, and for a long time - against my nature - I've been pessimistic and hateful of what the club has been. I've been disengaged and alienated. So to be negative now that we have enough to cling onto, as much as it may be clutching at straws, is just a bit of a no-go for me. I'm making up for lost time with my ridiculous optimism.

CB and CM remain our weak links like

Don't know why loads of pundits and commentators dislike Benitez. He's a pleasant chap who's won plenty. Very bizarre.
-
Ner, I read that as, he's tore them a new one.
-
Buendia is a good player. Pickford has little limbs.
-
Nee worries. Fingers crossed for a win tomorrow anyways! Chris Wood winner.

I'm not saying anyone is less of a fan for it though, I'm just saying it's quite sad if we're giving up hope this early, which it absolutely is. Your point about forum threads, etc. Whilst it's largely true, it'd be a tad naive to dismiss it in its entirety though. Players have come off social media accounts for the abuse they've recieved, and collectively the more fans that read the negativity the more that negativity grows beyond the internet. Nonetheless, I'm in total agreement that the players must ultimately do their bit, and also that, in particular key influencers must lead the way.

Good point well made.

That's precisely my point though, one win and everyone's tune will change, I kna it's the nature of football but surely if the margin of feeling sways so much on one win, we need to snap out of this sensationalist notion of us already being down? Unfortunately, nowadays, players read the net, they'll be aware. Despite that, I agree it's upto them to get their heads out their arses.
