  1. It's all based around the 25m. Same with SSN's coverage. Trying to keep their 'sources' happy. So are SSN really focusing on KK not getting the full amount rather than being in the right with his constructive dismissal claim? All in all I am quite happy with this result. An independent tribunal has unveiled what most of us have known all along and the club doesn´t have to pay a penalty it couldn´t bare for the truth to have come out. Now to get those fuckwits out of our club asap! Headline on F365 and most the comments are a good example: http://www.football365.com/
  2. I note with interest that you registered on 2007-07-04 Do you work for Ashley? No I don't. I notice that any post that is posted negatively against Keegan does not get respond to the point of the post, but just tries to discredit the poster. Ironically that is the sort of behavior we all despise Llambias for. How could he have been wrong to sue the club when the decision went in his favour and people like you were calling him worse than muck? He's cleared his name and got what he was due. I do not agree that anyone who claims to love Newcastle can sue the club for £25 million pounds when they know the have been relegated and are struggling for cash. I even disagree that he should sue nufc for 9 million. His contract gave him £2 million just for leaving he could have just taken that. I hear the argument that he wanted to truth to come out be if that was the case why sue for 25 million not 9 million? I'd sue the club for £25m if i could. That is where me and you are different and why we will never agree on this issue. That you'd suck a big fat cockney cock and be glad of it but I wouldn't? Yes, that is where we differ. No. But I am curious how you know he has a big fat cock. That is where we also differ. I don't. You would suck the cock (of indetermine length/girth) of a big fat cockney. The fact you envisage him to have a large member shows how much you love him. I reckon it's a geet tadpole and he has to have a sit-down piss. For god sake on the cock. You're the one who said that! This is definitely my favourite conversation on this thread at present
  3. How the fuck is he a 'thieving cunt' for claiming any amount in a case which he went on to win? Stick to NFL, you plum. Agreed compensation of 2m, he got what he deserved, but he tried to get more. How does that make him a thief? Haha, okay, attempted thief. What was he trying to steal? Did he not give justification for his claim? Did he not then accept that this justification was flawed? I don't care what he has said after the decision had been made, it's completely irrelevant. When in court (or whatever it's called!) he tried to get £25m and he failed as it was completely unjustifiable. So, again, how does that make him a thief? Were the fans that attempted to sue the club over the seats affair 'thieving cunts'? Was Bobby Robson a 'thieving cunt'? 1) already explained 2) have no clue about said cases Sending me PMs is pretty pathetic like. You haven't explained a thing. Avoiding questions is more so, I'd say. You're fucking plastic, pal. He tried to get £25m and he failed as it was completely unjustifiable. Your random insults are pretty needless. Actually, this was more specifically meant for people such as yourself: No, 99% of the forum shouldn't blindly infer they know the technicalities revolving around legal disputes relating to termination of contracts that went on behind closed doors (EDIT: I'm not saying 99% of the forum are doing this by the way, just repeating the figure you used). Opinions are fine, but if they are coming from blind assumptions about something people don't understand they are rightly going to get shot down. I read law, i've got fuck all idea about what happened here but i'd hazard a guess Keegan handed the facts over to his legal team and went 'sort this out for me please' and they took it from there. Because Keegan isn't a solicitor, he's a pretty basic football man. Building a 25m straw man to beat down is pretty pointless when i'd happily bet a fair amount of money keegan had nothing to do with that figure. Do you think he went to his solicitors and went "right boys, i'd like one of those stigma pay offs for 8.6m, all my wages and anything else you reckon i can get"? Or do you think he went with what they told him because they are trained to deal with this and he wouldn't have a clue what to do in a court hearing? Hmmm...
  4. So 99% of the forum shouldn't have an opinion because they didn't do law to University level? Not the best of distinguishing points.
  6. I have to ask, those still criticising Keegan - what did you want him to do? If he had sat there, put up with the shit and carried on knowing he would never have full control and that he was just Ashley's puppet, his heart would not have been in it. So if he had gone through the motions and saw out his contract, got his millions and then left, you'd still say he was a fucking thief, wouldn't you? He had principles, he stuck to them, it's now been shown he was in the right. The end. As regards the 25m / 9m / 2m issue - unless any of you are solicitors or have at the very least read law to degree level as well as having attended the hearing and meetings between KK and his solicitor, you should eat a big piece of shut-the-fuck-up pie. Keegan felt he was essentially sacked and handed the case over to his legal team at which point he would have let them do as they wished. It would not be him asking for the money it would be them, they are the professionals and you do what they tell you. I've read law at university and yet when the company i work for are negotiating anything 6 figures or higher i sure as fuck don't try and tell our solicitors what they should / shouldn't be doing and what our bargaining position should be, i let them do it as it's their job.
  7. Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but seems to be rumours flying around that Redknapp is about to be sacked and get prosecuted for money laundering. Odds have plummeted across the shop. Any ideas. What are the ITKs saying Jol??
  8. Gross assumption there and quite a big difference between not being 100% in favour and explicitly stating that he wanted nothing to do with the player and the club still insisting on signing him anyway. Yes, he could have just ignored the situation and ignored the player and carried on regardless but would Keegan have been acting in the club's and the fans best interests by accepting any player foisted on him, letting the owner's lie to the press and not saying a word? I for one think what he did was in the best interest of the fans as well as himself. Now we can all see that Keegan loved the club, didn't want to leave and got royally fucked over by those in charge. I really don't see any logic in the 'it happens elsewhere so he should have just got on with it'. It's like saying someone who works in finance and quits and goes to the authorities because his company has people insider trading should have just put their head down and got on with their job as it happens in plenty of places. Absolute bollocks, if you have principles you should stick to them and if they're honourable principles you should be applauded for doing so. Thanks for the memories Mr Keegan, you didn't deserve any of this.
  9. Apologies to go back to this post, but only just updating myself on this thread. Aside from this being a rather patronising post (look at me, i'm a cynic, i know better than you,but one day you'll learn young padowan) can I ask who the people you fell in love with at Newcastle are, Bob? Not to touch a sensitive area, but i'm guessing you are older than a lot on here, but unless you're over 50 I doubt you have many memories of us winning anything more meaningful than the first (second) division under Keegan and even if over 50, to have allowed yourself to only fall in love with one Newcastle team / manager must be a pretty depressing state of affairs for a big football fan, i'd honestly question why you even bother. To further your analogy and make it slightly more specific as one of the comments on the discussed article did, I'd rather have fucked Cheryl Cole in the face a few times and have the photos to prove it, even if that meant getting dumped for Ashley fricking Cole and humiliated. As your analogy feels pretty much like one tired cliche, here's another - better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. If someone told me we could have one trophy but none of the Keegan years I know which I would choose. Do you think being a Portsmouth fan and having won an FA Cup against Cardiff would make you feel more excited about the game than watching our team in the 90s? I suppose I took the risk of being patronising, but I was irritated by what I felt was a silly article and the way lots of people were reacting to it. Loving and losing and not loving at all aren't the only options. That's the point. The winning mentality combines passion with the ability to think clearly, remain focused and remain strong when things are going against you. Another problem with falling in love is that you can lose sight of reality. That's what seems to happen with a lot of supporters of Keegan. An issue with our club is this tendency to indulge in hero-worship. At times, it feels like a substitute for success, or at least it acts like a block to it. Ok, they're all fair points, but my original question still stands - who are those, in your time as a Newcastle fan, you have really loved? I can see how it gets annoying with the 'keegan can do no wrong' argument (although i think all but the most blinkered accept this isn't the case), but aren't you at risk of going too far the other way, into the realms of a bit of a misery guts? For anyone between the ages of 20 - 45 I'm going to stick my neck on the line and say the time Keegan was at Newcastle as manager (first time) was their best time as a toon fan. Regardless of title losses, mental breakdowns, walk outs, etc. they were our best times as Newcastle fans. He is the man most responsible for those great times. It's irrelevant whether someone else could have done better with the resources he had at the time, they didn't as they weren't here and we didn't want anyone else here. Yes, recent happenings have tarnished that, but that doesn't stop the fact that what he did was something pretty spectacular. So by all means, hate him for what he's done now (i certainly don't, but that's a different argument) but please don't try and take away from what he did to this club in the early / mid nineties. It was a special time in a lot of people's lives because of what he did. That's not sentimentality from a personal perspective, it's a fact.

  11. Chris Eubank is toon fan?!
  12. That. To infinity. The main reason i'm enjoying the championship at the minute. Sales like this go through though and even that scant reward will be robbed off us.
  13. And you're saying the above could be the reason for Taylor wanting away? You're usually a good poster but this is just nonsense man. Haha, liked you giving grief to Dave about behaving like he had 'stripes' for declaring your Leeds rant nonsense but you're allowed to tell other posters they're views are nonsense in a pretty condescending manner... Just saying, like
  14. To be honest i can't see either team ever getting into the Champs League prior to a Euro league being formed which will render the champs league redundant. I'd think, depending on which league we were in there would be more chance of us being invited to compete in such a league as well, based purely on geography / financial reasoning rather than squad / manager / ability / league position.
  15. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=667599&cc=5739 Hahahaha, Shearer only said he wanted to keep him, no mention of only player... (that was Dowie and i really can't see anyone giving a fuck what he thinks!)
  16. I don't think anyone is trying to say this is a valid excuse, my point was that to suggest that Taylor automatically recognises Bassong as this far superior player was not a good argument.
  17. It just makes me wish there had been some kind of light aircraft disaster the day that Redknapp and Ashley were meeting about the manager's job up here. Two birds, one stone and all that.
  18. Again, i do understand where you're coming from, but you're assuming your objective view onto the lad himself. Obviously it's a fruitless argument as none of us have a john malkovitch style look through into Steven Taylor's head (that would be a fucking odd film).
  19. what an absolutely ridiculous post. Why on earth would Taylor see that as a kick in the teeth? He isn't quite stupid enough to believe he's anywhere near Bassong as a player. Yeah, the England u21 captain who has been universally praised throughout the mainstream media isn't going to think he's anywhere near as good as a recently called up cameroon international plucked from obscurity the year before... Whilst everyone on this board might recognise Taylor's flaws / Bassong's better all round game, I doubt Taylor trawls the net for his opinions on his own game. Not saying it's likely to be a reason for him to leave but to think Taylor openly recognises Bassong as this wildly better player is far more ridiculous. 'yes' or 'no' do you think Taylor would be offended to hear that Shearer rated Bassong more? He didn't so no I don't think he would have been offended by what was said. I guess it comes down to the level of intelligence / ability to interpret the media we bestowe on particular players. I think Taylor is pretty basic and will have taken at media face value!

'yes' or 'no' do you think Taylor would be offended to hear that Shearer rated Bassong more? Yes, to hear it come out in the press that the 'one player' shearer would have wanted to keep more than anyone was Bassong would have been seen as a kick in the teeth. I've no doubt this wasn't how it was put by Shearer but it's been twisted and Taylor has always had the club at heart, no matter what anyone says he is a good young player who plays for the team and in this league he stands out as one of our best players (only 3 games in accepted). He'd probably have hoped Shearer wanted to build a team round him, as the young (almost) Geordie, in the same idealistic way the team was built around Shearer for all those years (not comparing the two as players, just the whole local hero thing that i'm sure Taylor desperately still wants to become).

  22. Hmmm... that'd be Liverpool who only have a couple of million to play with and have just had a bid accepted for some shitty old greek guy? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8211133.stm Don't believe the hype. If Everton don't sell Lescott, Citeh will go after Upson, Taylor wouldn't go to West Ham and I don't imagine anyone else could really afford him. Maybe Arsenal but with the start they've had with Vermaeylan would Taylor really want to go there to sit on the bench? I'm hopeful he should stay, if only through default. This could all change if Everton do give in on Lescott, although i'm hoping Moyes is as stubborn and scottish as he says he is.
  23. I said that, covering 16 years, as I went to Fulham home at the end of last season... Not the nicest way to see that particular record broken
  24. Gutted. RIP. Seems he held on for Sunday.
  25. The final line made me laugh a lot. From F365
