  1. Am I being an idiot... Danny Simpson, Routledge... who else? Are we assuming Williamson is a done deal?
  2. Any mention of a price? It's not like QPR are hard up so must have paid a bit of cash i'd guess?
  3. The thing is for me, are we going to bring in a player with the potential to be a better option in centre mid than Barton during the transfer window? I reckon the answer is a resounding no, so he is most definitely required as teams are beginning to suss out that if they close out our left hand side we offer absolutely nothing else. Having someone like Barton even at 70% in the middle will give them a whole new problem to worry about, it's just whether Hughton has the balls to play him there, whether he's up for it and whether our team can deprogram their 'play to the left or hoof' mentality quickly enough to stop Barton getting frustrated and going through someone with the tackle. Lots of if buts and maybe's there and sadly it's likely to backfire in one way or another, but i don't see that many other options at the minute.
  4. Thought he was away to the mackems? Wouldn't be surprised, they seem to like Spurs reserves, haven't spotted anything saying that though, but not exactly been looking.
  5. I'd have a cheeky look at Hutton on loan. Sounds like he can't get a sniff at Spurs, always looked decent when I saw him playing and could be a reasonable permanent option if we get promoted.
  6. It's nothing that hasn't been said but our centre midfield just isn't mobile enough. We get overrun whenever we come up against any remotely decent opposition. Smith hasn't really shown much since the first few games of the season, bar a couple of desperate blocks / lunges he really brings nothing to the team. How he stayed out of the book last night is absolutely beyond me (that said, how they ended with 11 men I'll never know). Nolan at least seemed to be trying to get into positions and get involved in the game, dropping back on occasions. Smith doesn't even show for the ball when it's around the half way line. I find myself screaming at the television every time we have a throw in because barely anyone moves an inch, more often than not a throw in simply ends with us returning possession to the opposition. I hope against all hopes Barton comes back and makes the difference but we all know Hughton will not drop Smith or Nolan. At least if we play someone away from home he may be inclined to include all 3 of them, but that is likely to leave Ameobi up front on his own again, which is another disaster waiting to happen.
  7. Was debating it as I am currently sat a matter of yards away, however I am watching it with a Forest fan and think I will do so in the solitude of my flat. The lads down there are always good craic, although I tended to see most of them down the Famous Three Kings - hopefully will again if we get promoted (they show any game provided there is a live feed for it somewhere in the world, which tended to be the case when we were in the Premier and sadly is no longer)
  8. I'd take Nolan out and add Gutierrez to start...
  9. I'll be interested to see crowd numbers for the scousers this evening...
  10. Figures that you prefer to ignore the posts from someone who's probably watched Beckford more than anyone else on this board. You're living in a fantasy world skirge, grow the f*** up man. It's better than you're attitude of 'I KNOW I'M RIGHT, I'M ALWAYS RIGHT. I KNOW MORE ABOUT LEEDS THAN ANYONE!!! LA LA LA..." This. Fucks sake, reading this thread is utterly tedious. Ronaldo - Go out, get laid or get a job or something, you are obviously very pent up. Someone has a quote under their name that you made about us lot 'sticking together', yet you proceed to be what can only be deliberately divisive. We all have different opinions, it's football, it's not predictable hence whilst you might disagree with people attempting to belittle them and mock them because they don't share your view does you no favours whatsoever. Skirge is one of the nicest guys on this bloody board and yet you have been such a little bitch to him even he's having a go back.
  11. I agree. I reckon we'd get Beckford if we offer £1.5m + Ranger for rest of season. That would suit both parties as I feel Ranger would thrive at Leeds and Beckford would be ideal for us. Anything other than them getting a proven goalscorer to replace beckford is not a suitable deal for them atall. I think Ranger will improve, but that takes time & its a risk in general let alone using him to replace someone whos already scored 20 this season. Carrolls the same, theyd laugh off both offers. Is the right answer. Beckford offers up something that our current lot (bar Shola) does not, or else we wouldn't be in for him in the first place. Shola plays on the shoulder of the last man and gets in behind defences? Really?
  12. PRL

    Nile Ranger

Could someone possibly photoshop him onto a crucifix in that pose?
  13. Why wouldn't you want to bring in a player for nothing (no fee and no wages as your suggesting) in a position were we currently only have one option? I would rather we signed a left winger who is going to play for use next year & I don't think the x-Toronto player would that fit the bill. We already have squad more than capable for "this division", we need start adding players who will help us next season if/when we go up. a winger for next season, we don't even know what division we'll be in Me V You I will give you £50.00 if we are not in the PL.........you can give me £10 if we are. I'll take that bet
  14. Did Tandy have to pay anything to replace Barton's shirt which he set fire to? That was the outstanding £435,000. It was a nice shirt.
  15. If someone is willing to do it I would recommend setting up a trust with a couple of trustees with all people contributing to the shares down as beneficiaries. It might cost a small amount of the money to set up said trust but it would be a good long term vehicle to use and only needs to be done once we know a takeover is looking likely to go ahead.
  16. I PMed Dave about it earlier as I didn't really want it to appear as a bit of a 'cock-off' with regards to how much each of us would put in, but as it seems you're all discussing various shares at various amount I'll lump myself in anywhere up to £500. Don't mind if that's just smushed in with everyone elses or whether it's easier to give less. I don't particularly care too much on the 'having a say' side of things (within reason) i just want my fucking club back.
  17. Hahaha... But seriously, my dad is not quite as athletic as he was 10 years back and this thing looked like a mini-dress on him. Which in itself was a little odd.
  18. My dad bought the Kevin Nolan shirt he wore for the Bristol City game at a charity auction for £55! Obviously rather different circumstances, but still, amazing work for this one to get so high. Must admit, I was surprised he wore XL, i guess at least you're getting more material for your cash.
  19. Working together? Unity? We've essentially got a patsy manager the players can run rings around and owners who will use him as their fucking puppet. Brilliant, great news, i'm ecstatic. Have you watched many games this season? We're top of the league because our players are the best of a shit bunch. It's not because of any great managerial ability otherwise we would have actually turned up in the first half of a game in the last 5. It's not because the owner gives a flying fuck as he has made abundantly clear on a number of occasions. You think he's working for our good or working to squeeze as much cash as he can out the club whilst awaiting the best offer he can hope for and gambling on the hope of promotion. You see where we end up after January, when odds are our squad will be further depleted and fall to the level of those just below us in the Championship - it's been shown from the last 5 games that it only takes a few players to no longer be there (Taylor and Nolan could easily be sold in January) and we'd be totally fucked. You think Hughton and Ashley will work together and bring in players of the same quality and reasonable value using their wealth of footballing knowledge and contacts? Fucking unbelievable. I have read these boards for a good few years and you've gone from one of the most sensible posters to a total parody of yourself. Whilst I often disagreed with what you said the fact it was well reasoned and interesting always made you one of the best posters on here, now you're so wrapped up in your desperate denialist contrarian outlook that every post makes me cringe.
  20. Well... I must say I really enjoyed that. Another who only gets up to games a few times a year so that was pretty special, we may have played shit but I'd rather we were shit and winning rather than playing pretty stuff and losing. I think Birmingham last season looked terrible all year but managed to grind their way up, in our current predicament i'd certainly settle for that. Also don't think they have a particularly better squad than us even now (that could change after January unfortunately) and they are doing okay. Anyhow, back to the match, was in the SJH Stand, when they scored some total hoon decided to get up and start cheering and celebrating which caused me to lose my rag somewhat, placated when the police came in and chucked him out. I mean, I totally understand people going in with home fans if they can't get an away ticket, but they have to accept that they won't be able to celebrate if their team score. Even if they accidentally let out a yelp that's almost forgivable, but to stand in with our fans and actively barack them means he deserved to be kicked out. Thought it wasn't going to be our day, ref definitely seemed keen to be 'a part of history' and able to say he was ref the day that Doncaster won at SJP. Actually looked more gutted than most their fans when we scored, seemed to be looking around for a reason to disallow rather than immediately returning to the half way line. Nolan and Butt in CM just doesn't work, we have to play Guthrie in the centre when Smith is out. Harewood was a disgrace, I've no problem with the booing, he didn't chase a single ball until he was baracked by the fans and even then he tended to react as and when there was restlessness rather than off his own back. He can look as distraught as he liked trudging off, at the end of the day the fans won't give you grief if you just make an effort and I don't think that's asking too much. Look how the crowd have taken to Ranger and it's not like he's been banging the goals in, he just works for the team and makes himself a menace. If Harewood is paid to play football for a living this is the very least i'd expect and far beyond what we actually get. Anyhow, awful first half, followed by miss of the season, blinding equalizer, penalty award and subsequent miss, red card and stoppage time equalizer - couldn't ask for any more of an emotional rollercoaster and to come out on top made it a blinding game to be at. Even my sister got sucked into the whole thing when she normally hates football...
  21. How the fuck is he a 'thieving cunt' for claiming any amount in a case which he went on to win? Stick to NFL, you plum. Agreed compensation of 2m, he got what he deserved, but he tried to get more. How does that make him a thief? Haha, okay, attempted thief. What was he trying to steal? Did he not give justification for his claim? Did he not then accept that this justification was flawed? I don't care what he has said after the decision had been made, it's completely irrelevant. When in court (or whatever it's called!) he tried to get £25m and he failed as it was completely unjustifiable. So, again, how does that make him a thief? Were the fans that attempted to sue the club over the seats affair 'thieving cunts'? Was Bobby Robson a 'thieving cunt'? 1) already explained 2) have no clue about said cases Sending me PMs is pretty pathetic like. You haven't explained a thing. Avoiding questions is more so, I'd say. You're fucking plastic, pal. He tried to get £25m and he failed as it was completely unjustifiable. Your random insults are pretty needless. Actually, this was more specifically meant for people such as yourself: No, 99% of the forum shouldn't blindly infer they know the technicalities revolving around legal disputes relating to termination of contracts that went on behind closed doors (EDIT: I'm not saying 99% of the forum are doing this by the way, just repeating the figure you used). Opinions are fine, but if they are coming from blind assumptions about something people don't understand they are rightly going to get shot down. I read law, i've got fuck all idea about what happened here but i'd hazard a guess Keegan handed the facts over to his legal team and went 'sort this out for me please' and they took it from there. Because Keegan isn't a solicitor, he's a pretty basic football man. Building a 25m straw man to beat down is pretty pointless when i'd happily bet a fair amount of money keegan had nothing to do with that figure. Do you think he went to his solicitors and went "right boys, i'd like one of those stigma pay offs for 8.6m, all my wages and anything else you reckon i can get"? Or do you think he went with what they told him because they are trained to deal with this and he wouldn't have a clue what to do in a court hearing? Hmmm... Neither of us know the ins and outs of why they really decided those figures, but Keegan was obviously aware of what they were asking for and could have told them not to go so far. But neither of us can really conclusively answer this can we? It's just a matter of opinion. I think he could've told them he didn't want to claim for so much, as he had some personal investiment in the club. He didn't do that. But there will be reasons for these figures, he'd have known he wouldn't get them, they would have been used for the purposes of the case. He couldn't go in and say he just wanted the 2m as they'd have settled straight away and Keegan wouldn't have been able to have the facts independently published as they have been. The ludicrous amount of 25m assured it went to tribunal, at which point it would appear from the quotes in the other thread keegan immediately accepted he wouldn't get the stigma damages as long as all findings were published, which is what he has said he wanted to happen, to clear his name. I think I trust Keegan enough to believe this rather than that he was trying to take the club to the cleaners. Well thats the crux of the matter really. I don't trust him enough to believe that. So you genuinely believe he wanted to take us for as much money as he could? Do you really think he then set out to fuck it over deliberately just to spite Mike Ashley? Keegan has a lot of flaws i'm happy to admit that, but to think he is a liar out to milk the club dry is just crazy.

  23. Because he was claiming for his wages until he was 65, and he was claiming for 'stigma damages' and I'm pretty sure he claimed a little extra to pay for a PS3, as he had nowt to do since they totally sacked him. There is fella in here Quayside who has posted why the claim would be so high, check it out. .. what? He's telling you to go read Quaysides posts on this. It would seem he has some legal knowledge. Of course, you knew that already. There are no posts in this thread by a user called Quayside, and no, I didn't not understand his post in the first place at all. I'm finding your petty jibes a little ridiculous, why are you unable to have a debate about something without being so petty? How come you aren't responding to my post to you in t'other thread? Thought it was reasonable, no petty insults...
  24. I note with interest that you registered on 2007-07-04 Do you work for Ashley? No I don't. I notice that any post that is posted negatively against Keegan does not get respond to the point of the post, but just tries to discredit the poster. Ironically that is the sort of behavior we all despise Llambias for. How could he have been wrong to sue the club when the decision went in his favour and people like you were calling him worse than muck? He's cleared his name and got what he was due. I do not agree that anyone who claims to love Newcastle can sue the club for £25 million pounds when they know the have been relegated and are struggling for cash. I even disagree that he should sue nufc for 9 million. His contract gave him £2 million just for leaving he could have just taken that. I hear the argument that he wanted to truth to come out be if that was the case why sue for 25 million not 9 million? I'd sue the club for £25m if i could. That is where me and you are different and why we will never agree on this issue. That you'd suck a big fat cockney cock and be glad of it but I wouldn't? Yes, that is where we differ. No. But I am curious how you know he has a big fat cock. That is where we also differ. I don't. You would suck the cock (of indetermine length/girth) of a big fat cockney. The fact you envisage him to have a large member shows how much you love him. I reckon it's a geet tadpole and he has to have a sit-down piss. For god sake on the cock. You're the one who said that! This is definitely my favourite conversation on this thread at present We need a poll. Cocks, poles, whatever you call them... let it go, man.
