  1. Missing in action I'm guessing.
  2. Guillem Balague describes him as 'a better version of Benayoun'.
  3. Would rather keep Milner tbh, we need the depth more than the money imo and Milner's a good, versatile option for a squad player.
  4. Another Spanish speaker might go to help Enrique settle better as well.
  5. Didn't realise Aurelio was 30 Quality player mind.
  6. Contradicting yourself. You said a few posts up a defenders main job is to defend, so by that logic a strikers main job is to score.. and Villa scored the most, so he was hardly mediocre. Better to score a goal a game in four games than it is to score a hattrick in one, one in another, then not score in two games. Fact is that Villa didn't step it up in the latter stages. What is the name of that Yugoslavian striker in Euro 2000? I thought Villa looked excellent throughout the tournament despite his goals - had real flair about him and contributed greatly to Spain's overall play. Your comment about Villa not stepping up in the latter stages seems a bit rich imo for somebody with Arshavin in their side who played blinders for two games then stumbled when it mattered most; Villa was unlucky with injury against the Russians and was far from their worst player and could do little against the Italians' 11 man behind the ball defence.
  7. Casillas Ramos Chiellini Pepe Zhirkov Senna Xavi Iniesta Sneijder Pavlyuchenko Villa
  8. I think him and Lawro are alright actually...
  9. Got the change kit catalogue thing in the post today and the ticket's advertised as being worth £15.
  10. baptista can play anywhere across midfield also as front man... i just love the prospect of reviving his sevilla if we do sign him... one of above average player on his day and also he's not too old on barton role yes he can... he can deploy into box to box midfield Either way I think he'd be an improvement.
  11. Would Baptista be played in Barton's role or as a target man do you think?
  12. didn't some say that about portugal ? Portugal's main weakness was their defence though which was exposed a bit in the game with the Czechs and was their main undoing against the Germans. I can see something similar happening to Russia should they progress who also look a bit all over the shop at the back but not Spain tbh - far too strong and would muller the Germans tbh.
  13. I don't disagree at all, Lennon is 21 and has plenty of time to work on his game and improve a lot. The big question is will he work on his game to make the improvement. A lot is said of London being a big pull for a player to sign. Lennon is a good example of the bright lights being too much of a distraction to the detriment of his performances. Ramos has read the riot act at him with no noticeable difference. A move to Newcastle (or anywhere away from London) could be a good move for everyone concerned. Agree. I wouldn't let him go on the cheap though.
  14. But surely that end-product can be worked on - Lennon's young enough and able enough imo to improve that aspect of his game whereas Bentley has no reply to Lennon's pace. I think Lennon has more potential than Bentley in that respect and could come back to bite Spurs if they sell for the wrong amount.
  15. I'd love Aimar here for £6 million, great player.

    Lookalikes

    Iker Casillas and Joaquin Phoenix.
  17. Would this not happen with Arshavin as well?
  18. Would people rather have Aimar or Arshavin btw?
  19. when was the last time man utd bought an outfield player that age ? Hargreaves.
  20. I thought Italy played some nice stuff against France.
  21. why do we have to have a 3-man midfield ? i think the comparison with beardsley so far is the closest Was assuming we'd stick with 4-3-3 next season I guess.
  22. This is purely based on what I saw tonight so please go easy but he didn't seem all that creative in the passing sense. Now I don't know if this was down to him playing a specific role in the side or what not but to me at least he looked like a goal-scoring midfielder who runs off the striker and takes on players in possession. If this is the case then surely this guy isn't really what we're looking for; yes he's clearly class but we have Owen currently playing in this sort of position and I'm unsure as to whether he's the creative passing type we need in a 3-man midfield.
  23. Even if he stays he'll be playing CL football.
