  1. Hardly, Everton absolutely dicked Wolfsburg earlier in the season. They're pretty s****. Pretty s***? Second in Bundesliga vs. fourth in Serie A. 62 goals in 28 games. Some of the most exciting young players in Europe and Bas Dost/Klose. Napoli have been poor in recent weeks too. You're clueless and have judged Wolfsburg on 4 games. They've let themselves down against teams from big leagues but there is a lot of talent in that squad who will go far in the game. I repeat: If you have interpreted my posts as nonsense, there is a 99% chance you have misunderstood my post or you need to reconsider your own opinion. Bas Dost is basically just a lump who had a good month of form. Klose doesn't play for Wolfsburg. Unless you mean Timm Klose, their backup Swiss CB. Wolfsburg are a tinpot corporate club and thats reflected in their collective performances in the big games, despite having some talented and expensive players in and around their squad. The fact that they're 2nd in the Bundesliga is a serious slight on the quality of the league now that Dortmund have slipped, to be honest. It's really not much use them having 4 Champions League places if they're going to be represented by boring corporate outfits like Wolfsburg and Leverkusen who get routinely battered the moment they come up against big clubs. Oh so wrong. Quite astonishing if that's your opinion and watch the Bundesliga. The Bundesliga is providing more entertaining football and higher quality most of the time than all european leagues outside the La Liga. I was of the same opinion that the German league was quite average until I started watching it regurlarly over the past 12months or so. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but Schalke and Leverkusen had very good CL campaigns on the whole and were close to eliminating both Madrid clubs. Leverkusen are crap, man. Man Utd under Moyes beat them 0-5 at their own stadium just over a year ago ffs. In fact pretty much every memory I have of Bayer Leverkusen is them getting absolutely gubbed, whether thats by Shola Ameobi or Lionel Messi. They frequently have decent players but everything about the club is vapid and soulless. Same goes for Wolfsburg. Corporate vehicles with little history who are a waste of a place in the Champions League. Schalke are more endearing because they're a traditional club but they themselves have a history of offering little to the CL. The year they blagged through to the semis they put in one of the most feeble two-legged displays I can ever remember. Bundesliga is a great league for a number of reasons, its current 2nd tier clubs in Europe is not one of them. Bit unfair - that Leverkusen side of 01/02 was very decent. Made the CL final against the odds and really should've walked the Bundesliga but collapsed at the final hurdle.
  2. As soon as results start going the other way, Bolasie and Zaha will inevitably drop to the bench and their form will suffer. Pardewnomics.
  3. Aguero isn't much kop at winning headers against the like of Shawcross. He also doesn't do very well to chest high balls pinged to him with a CB righ up his jacksy and not a team mate within 20 yards. ...which is why the high balls are pinged up to Dzeko/Bony instead.
  4. These 'constraints' work both ways though. If Pardew had been - god forbid - given full control over transfers, then there would have been no chance of seeing the likes of Cabaye, Cisse, Sissoko or Debuchy in a black and white shirt. The squad Pardew had at his disposal at the beginning of last season was arguably one of the strongest of recent years; to collapse in the manner that we did after Xmas was inexplicable.
  5. What does Remy have to do to get a start for Chelsea? His goal scoring record actually isn't bad at all considering how little he's played and yet he can't get inahead of a 37 year old Drogba who can barely run. Absolute waste.
  6. Coutinho is comfortably better than Sterling imo.
  7. Don't be daft, Barca will destroy city. Arsenal could quite easily turn up to Stade Louis II and get a 3-0 or 4-1 if they play their best football. Despite the previous result and ASM's fantastic defensive record, there is a gap in quality, imo. One thing I will say about the recent performances of the English teams is that excluding Manchester City and their early group stage adventures, they have simply been given tough draws early on and just haven't been able to make it through. Arsenal seem to draw Barcelona or Bayern in the second round every season. In isolation, not too many of the results would really worry me. Obviously, the trend is alarming, but all it will take for a one-time reversal is a change in luck of the draw because the Premiership generally has the most or joint most teams in the second round every single season. That is not a coincidence. You don't think Man City have had tough draws early on? They've invariably had either Bayern and Real Madrid in their group as the first seed, and then another out of Roma, Dortmund, Ajax, Napoli and the like. On the two occasions that they have managed to qualify, it's inevitably been in second place because Bayern or Real are simply better. They've then been dealt a poor hand by drawing Barca twice in a row. Arsenal, on the other hand, have had consistently far easier groups because of their top pot status and can have no complaints whatsoever if they f*** it up by finishing second and end up drawing a good team.
  8. Carragher talking some rare sense there.
  9. Chelsea are the jammiest bunch of fucks going. fuck off.
  10. Embarrassing first 30 mins - misplaced passes, heavy touches all over the place.
  11. considering the only what are maybe winnable fixtures between now and the end of april are villa and sunderland then yes I'd say theres a reasonable chance QPR and Leicester to play as well to be fair.
  12. It was a fumble all day by Anita, passing it out instead of hoofing it shouldn't be questioned. It should when Dzeko's only a couple of feet away .
  13. Obviously a complete rick from Anita but why didn't Williamson just punt that up the pitch?
  14. Not sure about Fabregas being better than Hazard like.
  15. Dodgy midfield but pleased to see Perez, Cabella and Cisse all in the same side. Perez in particular should benefit from having somebody to play off. Is it a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1?
