  1. Sturridge could've had 2, maybe 3 today had his touch been better. The difference between England and Italy/Uruguay hasn't been so much in terms of general play, but in the quality of finishing. Whereas the likes of Sturridge and Rooney spurned at least 2 good chances per game, the likes of Suarez and Balotelli only needed a single sniff. I'm a huge fan of Sturridge's fwiw and I'd argue that he's England's best player, but he's wasteful at this level.
  2. Aside from him always turning up for the big games? And scoring pretty much everywhere he goes? Scoring everywhere he goes? Haven't seen his numbers, but I doubt it's very impressive. 20 in 33 for City 26 in 37 for Milan. I'd call that impressive Not counting games from the bench? But, aye, much better than I expected. Just the stats from soccer base so my sure. Still good though. I like him because he shows up in the big games, and that's a great quality to have Genuine question, except the semi-final against Germany what big games have he shown up to? He's been hiding today, did hte same in the Euro finals, but can't really remember if he showed up on the big stage for City. Scored twice for City against Man Utd in the 6-1 a couple of years back. He's got great potential but he seems to be the type who will never fully realise it. I don't deny that, but his record in big, clutch games is better than you'd think.

  4. Pjanic seems to be the one stealing the show but the Bosnian number 7 has looked equally impressive imo.
  5. With whom out of interest? Can't wait for his reply on that one. I would think all of the German squad apart from Klose and Podolski who moved at a young age were born and grew up in Germany They were, Ozil for example who a lot of people say "he's Turkish hehe" was actually born in Gelsenkirchen. I was thinking more Cacau to be honest. That's fair enough, i agree with you on the rules in general btw. For me once you play for a country you should be locked into that country whether its a competitive game or not. That Costa stuff was especially BS, how you can play for one country and then another just because it wasn't a competitive game is just wrong. Having said that though i don't think the Germans take the p*ss anymore than anyone else. Yep. No worse than what Spain did with Marcos Senna in 2008.
  6. Isn't Pereira suspended?
  7. Nuno Gomes was pretty decent. Remember him putting a couple past England in the Euros (2000?).
  8. There is a part of me that thinks that, with the exception of Sturridge, they're made to look much better than they really are by Rodgers' set up. Still, its impossible to write off Sterling for England when he's not starting games.
  9. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/06/12/article-2656644-1EB7344300000578-256_634x451.jpg Elbow's nowhere near Cesar.
  10. That a bit harsh on Haidara tbh, he's close if not at Santon's level imo. Santon is miles better than both Haidara and Dummett. We'd be crazy to get rid.
  11. Fernando to City from Porto for around €20 million. Seedorf sacked as Milan manager, replaced by Inzaghi
  12. Really? Him and Barkley have been the standouts for me.
  13. England look a better side without Gerrard imo.
  14. Mata is better than Fabregas imo and he couldn't cut the mustard under Jose. Fabregas simply isn't a Mourinho style of player - a terrible signing if it goes ahead.
  15. Gaston Ramirez worthy of a mention in their midfield?
  16. Not sure if this has been posted but a good read. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/apr/24/roy-hodgson-sexy-football
  17. Thought they were banned from making transfers anyway?
  18. Yep. As poor as his goal return has been this season, his general play - touch, passing, link-up play, movement and all the rest of it - has been pretty good whenever I've seen him for Spurs.
  19. Is it me or was Valencia definitely onside in that replay?
  20. I like Redmond the most out of the names mentioned but have no faith in Pardew being able to use him effectively. He's too similar to Routledge, who Pardew, for whatever reason, just didn't fancy.
  21. Exactly. Suarez probably creates 5-10 penalties a season on his own and, to be honest, a reasonable share of them were justified.
  22. I think Ashley probably does care more about our results than most give him credit for. At the end of the day, our transfer policy revolves around the premise of buying players on the cheap and selling them on for a profit. You can't generate interest let alone profitable offers in our players if they're all performing shite.
