I would have complained about him being first, that's for sure. But not about his presence on the list, of course. Dyer, Smith, Shawky, Etuhu, Halford, Koumas, O'Neil.. All been worse than Barton in terms of appearances and overall contribution.

Smith, Cacapa and Rozehnal were easily worse signings than Barton. Barton is beginning to find his form, and admittedly while he wasn't playing well, neither was the rest of the team.
