The only people who looked interested today were Guthrie and Carroll.
Partial pardons go to Given and Bassong for having to put up with Coloccini's performance, and the ref's poor day too.
Did well today I thought, looked very energetic and commited. Puts himself about more than Viduka does, anyway.
Do people think he should start against Liverpool (assuming Oba and Viduka - and maybe even Owen) aren't fit?
I'd rather get Bassong's suspension out of the way in this game. Surely Kinnear will appeal it anyway?
Given
Taylor Colo Edgar N'Zogbia
Jonas Guthrie Butt Duff
Owen Carroll
best we can hope for. As much as I dislike Carroll he did well today and much more than Viduka.
I never mentioned the word consistency. I was merely pointing out that even if his form does take a nose-dive, he clearly does have the ability to be a Premiership defender - because you don't have 5 or 6 good games in a row (against some decent forwards too like Crouch, Defoe and Anelka) without having something.
Stoke (h), Boro (a), Pompey (a), Chelsea (a), Spurs (h) and possibly Wigan (h) - might have to check that last one.
That's 6 games, and to me, you don't play so well for 6 games in 'fits and starts'.
It's obvious why City are playing so badly - half the team know they'll be replaced in January or the summer with the megabucks so it's clearly having a detrimental effect.
