  1. Both got draws there though. Best to play them on the opening day.
  2. I think 2sheds is a good poster usually but I find some of his comments in this thread simply baffling.
  3. No one is saying that. He never said 'probably' at all his exact words were "It WAS a stupid tackle AND he deserved to be sent off. From the moment he uttered those words there was no chance of getting this decision appealed, none whatsoever. That's what you aren't getting. The rest of your posts discusses events after this interview so its pointless addressing them. So your issue is that basically you didn't think it was a red card? Well I did. Even if the decision was debatable there was no chance on earth of it being rescinded. Absolutely no chance whatsoever, and it's clear that Shearer knew this. What about the argument they had in front of the rest of the players? Is it pointless addressing that? The argument they had in front of the players AFTER that interview Dave? When Shearer remembered he wasn't still a pundit on MOTD? TBH I wouldn't like to comment on it but Shearer is obviously unhappy with Barton in the post match interview and I don't know if Barton saw him give his comments live on TV. Everything else would be speculation but to be publicly condemned and hung out to dry by your own manager would not have helped the situation. To repeat Fredbobs comments - when does Fergie ever act like this? As for the decision I see its now 'absolutely no chance whatsoever' of it being rescinded whereas before shearer said it was 'probably' deserved. Hmmmmmmmmmm All I'll say is if we bothered to appeal Bassong's red we really should have had the chance to appeal Barton's. Only there was no chance of that after that interview was there? perhaps shearer was just irate that barton has not only undergerformed in his time here but has behaved on the pitch like a complete t*** too many times ? Perhaps an irate manager was not what we needed. fairly sure i've even heard wenger and mourinho be honest on a couple with some sendings off. if we had a manager like ferguson who lied through his teeth all the time (as opposed to wengeres most the time) i'd have little respect for him. i really don't think man utd would be anyworse a team if ferguson was honest if one of his players got sent off.....do you ? i remember robson being honest on this sort of thing...who do you respect more as a man...robson or ferguson ? It's a bit wierd that. The last sentence doesn'yt appear in your post but it's there when I quoted you Anyway the answer to that is always SBR. And while I have heard Wenger and Mourinho occasionally (very occasionally) condemn their players publicly 99% of the time they either 'didn't see the incident" (Wenger) or they say nothing at all. That was what we needed after the Liverpool game, Shearer letting his emotions rule his head did this club no good whatsoever. No good as in what though? Did we play worse in the last three games because Barton wasn't allowed to train? It can definitely be argued that him not being around could have improved morale.

Perhaps an irate manager was not what we needed. Aye, we needed Chris Hughton to ruffle his hair and say "you cheeky little scamp!". You are ignoring the fact that Barton was no longer of any use to us that season: he was suspended from playing (because of Barton's past reputation and because it was certainly a red card, Shearer knew it would never get rescinded), he had an argument with Shearer and slagged off some of the players, therefore he was no good in the dressing room or even in training. So what point was there having him in either of those upsetting people or causing trouble, especially during such a critical stage of the run in? Shearer was right to tell the media that it was a stupid tackle and a red because a) would never get rescinded and b) he had no intention of looking to get it rescinded.
  5. I agree Aye the force is strong with Dave today http://images.lukeskywalkercostumes.com/child_luke_skywalker.jpg
  6. Not overly bothered, would be ok as a backup to CB although he's a shite fullback.
  7. People seem to be forgetting that we had three games to go and Barton was suspended for three games. It made sense to keep him away from the squad considering he had a negative effect in the dressing room by berating Shearer and some of the other players, especially as he couldn't add anything to any of our remaining three matches.
  8. Liking all these local away friendlies btw. Works quite nicely, I get to go to a few stadiums without breaking the bank on travel costs. Win.
  9. Oh dear. Good signing for them tbh, Hennessey looks to me like he's able to step up to the Premier League and Hahnemann will provide decent backup for them. They also have Ikeme who is a good keeper on his day as well.
  10. Marcus Hahnemann signed on 1-year deal by Wolves, on a free.
  11. We're away at Wigan on boxing day. We're not, but we're away. Again.
  12. Discuss that with your team mate, Pilko as Reds captain? Yawn.

    Xisco has his say

Kinnear was clearly such a cunt. No mention of Hughton, I see. The man who gave him three of his five appearances.

    New Third Kit?

Looks nice, but we'll never wear it. Last seasons one was worn once at a home friendly ffs.
  15. btw if Glen Johnson wasn't English, then Liverpool would be paying closer to £5m-£6m.
  16. Bentley just been gash at Spurs. Funny how he's been overlooked for "worst signing of the season" purely because he hit one good goal that was really just bad keeper positioning at the Emirates.
  17. It is like us with Kevin Nolan and Ryan Taylor tbh. We were warned by actual fans of those clubs they were shit, but they were branded 'bitter' and they were good signings.
  18. I could easily see Spurs bidding for RvN, although the rest seem like hogwash.
  19. I get the feeling that Dave would be having a cut price Homer-and-Marge style wedding in a casino somewhere if he stumped up for the fixture rights, put it that way.
  20. Should change the thread title to "FAO Yorkie"
