Eyupspor sounds like Harry Enfield's Yorkshireman character went over to Turkey and founded a football club.

I'd imagine Howe will tell the players in no uncertain terms that the disappointment of the transfer window can't be an excuse to feel sorry for themselves, to get out there and show everyone that we're a fucking good team as is. Worry a bit about the early Sunday kickoff meaning the atmosphere will be flat as a witch's tit, but Spurs tend to drop their arses in this fixture and Ange's style means there'll be plenty space for Isak, Gordon etc. 3-1 win.

I heard he was late for the urgent post transfer window review meeting today because he was at his desk trying to get Oasis tickets.

Shambolic. Can't even bring myself to give it a numerical rating, but it was shit. I'm sure the two senior outfield acquisitions we made will be good signings in their own right but they feel very much like side dishes next to an empty plate. If you look past the Hall loan-to-buy creative accounting, we've basically spent £10m on first-team players in two transfer windows. It's not good enough. 5 senior keepers on the books, of which only one is up to snuff. The one who was a large part of us not getting a European spot retaining his no. 2 position and only an injury or a red card away from a repeat. Still loads of unwanted or unused players hanging around that we weren't able to shift. Two full-backs starting at centre-back again at the weekend and nothing done about it. It's really, really poor. I know the motivation and the effort to succeed from all involved at the club is not comparable in any way to the Ashley era windows, but the disappointment and end result of this window feels like one. Couple of cheap squad lads brought in, no action at the end of the window while everyone round us strengthens. Total shite and I hope the club review it thoroughly and make sure it doesn't pan out like this again.

Apparently he's a great laugh after a few beers and does a belting Springsteen number on the karaoke, so leave off him.

If that's true that it won't happen because we've waited until now... it's a bloody disgrace, not sure how else to describe it we've had all summer.
-
Feel free to piss your knickers if you don't like the phrase I used, but both players are known and coveted by Eddie and JT based on their past experiences working with them and were announced as exactly that. People love dredging up old posts usually so feel free to go and find the ones where I said Kelly and Osula were good signings at the time.
-
Quite right, I'm happy with both of those signings in their own single context FYI and said so at the time in each case, but in the wider picture of the window as the only main additions it's desperately poor.
-
Really piss poor transfer window this, regardless of who's to blame. Feels like all of our rivals have strengthened and all we've done is bring Eddie and Jason in one of their favourite bum-boys each to placate them. Said it the other day but I think Eales has a brass neck to be singing on the Stack stage when he & the team he appointed have delivered this joke of a summer window. Arguably the worst sin of all is going into another season with Dubravka as no. 2 goalkeeper. If he sees another competitive minute of action for us after last season's weekly clown shoes showing it's like Ashley-era levels of negligence.
-
They seem to be trying a lot Harder than we are to get players in
-
I'm not in the "blame Eales" camp but I'm not sure I'd have been singing on the fucking Stack stage if I was standing over an executive team I've built who only brought in Osula, Kelly and some shite keepers during a really important summer window, and following a Jan window where we also did nowt. It looks like amateur hour unless we can do some business quickly. Everyone around us has strengthened and we've very much stood still.

Was definitely better than Bournemouth that performance, albeit still with issues to resolve. We need to take the positive that we've got 4/6 points and negotiated an away cup tie to another PL side without putting together a fully cohesive performance yet. It'll evolve and improve as fitness does and with the addition of Tonali and hopefully some late business in the form of Guehi or someone else who can pass the ball from the centre at the back. We need to be stronger with set plays both attacking and defending, and need to find a way to get Isak into the action properly. Other than the build up to the goal I didn't think we did him many favours although I did also think he himself was poor on the night. If we can get Guehi or a good alternative in tomorrow it'll feel much better all round.

Looked class as per, then crocked. Sick of it. Hope it's not serious.
-
Looked good on the right, surely has to start there unless we pull a rabbit out the hat late on.
-
Excellent comeback. Love the amount of first time passes he plays.
-
I thought he was good when he came on, seemed to feed Barnes loads of times. Balls of steel on the penna too. Well in Sean
-
And now City (a) in the draw to take the edge off.
-
Get the fuck in.
-
For fucks sake.
-
Isak has been absolutely chod here.
-
Great. A whole half of progress and good play wasted by lazy, shite marking at a set play.
-
Kieron Dyer about every 12 months after his latest injury.
-
Matt O Riley crocked on his Brighton debut after about 5 mins.

I think shit like that idiot there on Twitter is a symptom of only ever having one man (Charnley) to take a shot at from an exec point of view. We've now pared up those departments with people who are responsible for various strands of the club but the default setting is go to the guy at the top, must be his fault directly. Can't remember who said it recently or in what thread but it's that whole "I want to see the manager" restaurant Karen attitude applied to a footballing setting.
